수중 가청음은 어군의 행동 제어와 해양목장화에서 음향 순치에 많이 이용되고 있다. 수중 가청음에 의한 어류반응 해석을 하기 위해서는 물고기의 청각능력을 정확히 파악할 필요가 있으며,오래전부터 여러물고기의 청각능력을 관련된 연구가 수행되었다.

In this paper, we report a full-color reflective display device by combining reflective electrochromic device (ECD) and different color production units (conventional color filter (CF) and transmittance controllable electrochromic color filter (TCECF)). A full-color reflective device with TCECF showed an excellent diffuse reflectance of 47.2% in the white state owing to the high transmittance of TCECF in the bleached state than that of CF (19.5%). This device structure can easily provide various colors with high brightness and saturation with a broad grayscale. Particularly, in the colored state, TCECF and CF-based full-color reflective device displayed color coordinates of (0.59, 0.34), (0.31, 0.66), (0.24, 0.30) and (0.65, 0.33), (0.27, 0.61), (0.15, 0.06), for red, green and blue, respectively, and alongside also exhibited color gamut of 36.8% (for TCECF) and 73.1% (for CF) for full color reflective devices.

Human sparganosis is a rare infection caused by a tape worm larva, the genus Spirometra. Most infection occurs in the soft tissue, and sparganosis of the brain is very rare. There is no effective chemotherapy, and the best treatment for cerebral sparganosis is surgical removal of the worm, as in the case of the noncerebral form. A 40 year-old Korean man presented a 10 year history of episodic confusion followed by grand malseizure. He also had a history of consuming snake meat. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging of the brain showed a lesion of the right temporoparietal lobe. Micro-ELISA test for sparganum specific antibody revealed high anitbody levels of absorbance 0.39 in serum, and 0.53 in cerebrospinal fluid. He refused operation, and a single maximal 50 Gy dose of irradiation by gamma knife was done. After 6 months, the lesion had no interval change on brain CT.

중등도의 혈우병 A 환아와 중증의 혈우병 B 환아가 응고인자 투여 후 전신마취 하에 각각 매복 과잉치 발거술 및 다수 유치의 우식치료를 받았다. 이와 같이 혈우병 환자의 치과치료시에는 부족한 응고인자를 보충해주는 등의 응고인자 수준의 관리와 복잡한 의과적 처치 및 술 후 관리가 요구된다. 또한 치과치료 시 출혈을 유발되지 않도록 주의해야 하며 응급 상황등에 대비하여 국소적 지혈 방법 등을 숙지하고 있는 것이 필요하다. Hemophilia is an X-linked herediatry disorder. Hemophilia A is a defiency of factor VIII and hemophilia B (Christmas disease) is a deficiency of factor IX. The most widely used classification is based on plasma procoagulant levels, with people 〈1% factor defined as severe; 1 - 5% moderately severe; and 〉5% as mild. A 7 years old boy visited our clinic with chief complaint of impacted supernumerary tooth. This boy had severe hemophilia A. With the previous ADVATE<SUP>®</SUP> injection and factor VIII replacement, Extraction of supernumerary tooth was successfully done under General anesthesia. A 9 years old boy referred from local clinic for dental caries treatment. This boy had severe hemophilia B. With the preparation of BeneFIX<SUP>®</SUP> injection, dental treatment was done successfully under general anesthesia. It is often first detected by dental trauma. Since bleeding after dental treatment may cause severe or even fatal complications, people with hemophilia must be given special dental care. The treatment of the patients with either hemophilia A or hemophilia B involves the intravenous infusion to either control or prevent bleeding.

Background: Recently, biplanar fluoroscopy is used to evaluate the cervical kinematics, especially to locate the instant center of rotation (ICR) during in vivo motion. This study aims to ascertain the ICR at each cervical segment in the sagittal plane during dynamic motion and assess the differences from previous studies. Methods: While three healthy subjects were performing full flexion-extension, two oblique views aligned horizontally and angled at approximately 55° were obtained by biplanar fluoroscopy. The minimum degree to detect significant movement in a helical axis model was set at 2°, and anterior-posterior and superior-inferior locations of each ICR were defined. To evaluate the possible distribution area and overlapping area of the ICR with disc space, we drew a circle by using the calculated distance between each coordination and the mean coordination of ICR as the radius. Results: During flexion-extension motion, the mean superior-inferior location of the ICR became progressively more superior, except the C5–6 segment (p = 0.015), and the mean anterior-posterior location of the ICR became progressively more anterior without exception from C2–3 to C6–7 segments, but anterior-posterior ICR locations were not significantly different among segments. The overlapping area with the distribution circle of ICR was mainly located in the posterior half in the C3–4 segment, but the overlapping area was about 80% of the total disc space in C4–5 and C6–7 segments. The overlapping was more noticeable in the lower cervical segments after exclusion of the outlier data of the C5–6 segment in subject 1. Conclusions: The ICR in the cervical spine showed a trend of moving progressively more superiorly and anteriorly and the disc space overlapping the distribution circle of ICR increased along the lower motion segments except the C5–6 segment. These findings could provide a good basis for level-specific cervical arthroplasty designs.

본 증례의 환아들의 경우, PEG-tube를 통한 식이로 구강 위생관리가 용이하며, 사지마비 및 의식 저하로 스스로 장치의 탈착이 어렵다는 점에서 가철성 장치를 장착한 결과 양호한 치유 양상이 관찰되었다. 구강조직에 자해로 인한 손상이 발생한 경우, 환자의 병력, 현재 상태, 치료 기간 등을 고려하여, 환자에게 가장 바람직한 치료 계획을 세워야 한다. 가철성 장치를 이용하는 경우, 구강 위생 관리 및 병소의 관찰을 위하여 주기적인 치과 검진이 필요하다. Oral self-injurious behavior (SIB) can be defined as the intentional, direct injuring of oral tissue, most often done without conscious suicidal intent and most commonly associated with tongue or lip biting. Chronic biting of oral mucosa is an innocuous self inflicted injury, commonly seen in children suffering from developmental and psychological problems. The cases presented in this report discuss oral SIB due to epilepsy, quadriplegia and their treatments. This report documents a successful self-injurious behavior treatment of epilepsy patients within a short time by applying a removable intraoral device. Clinicians should notice the possibility of oral SIB in various disorders. Moreover, different treatment should be performed according to the causative disorders and symptoms.

Sleep, which is an essential part of human life, is modulated by neurotransmitter systems, including gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and dopamine signaling. However, the mechanisms that initiate and maintain sleep remain obscure. In this study, we investigated the relationship between melatonin (MT) and dopamine D2-like receptor signaling in pentobarbital-induced sleep and the intracellular mechanisms of sleep maintenance in the cerebral cortex. In mice, pentobarbital-induced sleep was augmented by intraperitoneal administration of 30 mg/kg MT. To investigate the relationship between MT and D2-like receptors, we administered quinpirole, a D2-like receptor agonist, to MT- and pentobarbital-treated mice. Quinpirole (1 mg/kg, i.p.) increased the duration of MT-augmented sleep in mice. In addition, locomotor activity analysis showed that neither MT nor quinpirole produced sedative effects when administered alone. In order to understand the mechanisms underlying quinpirole-augmented sleep, we measured protein levels of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) and cortical protein kinases related to MT signaling. Treatment with quinpirole or MT activated extracellular-signal-regulated kinase 1 and 2 (ERK1/2), p38 MAPK, and protein kinase C (PKC) in the cerebral cortex, while protein kinase A (PKA) activation was not altered significantly. Taken together, our results show that quinpirole increases the duration of MT-augmented sleep through ERK1/2, p38 MAPK, and PKC signaling. These findings suggest that modulation of D2-like receptors might enhance the effect of MT on sleep.

최근 스마트폰 사용자의 폭발적인 증가로 인하여 모바일을 이용한 U-Healthcare 어플리케이션이 주목 받고 있다. 하지만 적응하기 힘든 사용환경과 복잡한 인터페이스로 인해 실제 정기적인 검진이 필요한 장애인들이나 고 연령층의 사용자들에게는 낮은 접근성을 보여주고 있다. 또한 측정결과만을 보여주고 피드백이 전혀 없는 것은 의미가 약하다. 본 논문에서는 가청주파수를 이용해 측정하여 그 결과를 사용자에게 알려주고 피드백이 가능하도록 사용자가 등록한 번호로 검사결과를 보낼 수 있게 하였고 결과를 저장할 수 있도록 하여 정기적 관리가 유용하도록 하였다.
