항응고제 치료와 연관된 자발성 근육내 혈종

항응고제 치료의 주된 합병증은 출혈로서 주로 뇌실질과 복강 내에 발생하며 사지 근육에 발생하는 근육내 혈종은 매우 드문 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 항응고제 치료 후 발생하는 자발성 근육내 혈종은 발생빈도가 드물 뿐 아니라, 심부정맥혈전증과 그 증상이 유사하여 감별하기가 쉽지 않다. 저자들은 항응고제 치료 후 운동 마비가 발생한 사지 근육에서 자발성 근육내 혈종이 발생한 증례를 경험하여 이를 보고한다. Spontaneous intramuscular hematoma(SIH) is an uncommon but serious bleeding complication of anticoagulation therapy that has received little attention. We present a patient of spontaneous muscular hematoma during anticoagulation therapy for acute stroke management. A-74-year old man was admitted with sudden onset of dysarthria and left hemiparesis. Brain MRI and MRA showed acute cerebral infarction along right middle cerebral artery territory and severe stenosis of right proximal cervical internal carotid artery. During intravenous heparin treatment, he complained acute pain and swelling on left leg. Muscular CT showed enhancing focal soft tissue mass on left gastrocnemius muscle and ultrasonography demonstrated multiple hematomas on left gastrocnemius muscle. Treatment of heparin was stopped immediately. After conservative management for hematomas, symptoms were subsided.

An empirical study on using electronic intermediaries

Electronic intermediary (e- intermediary) can be an efficient exporting channel to enter into the global market. Many exporters may believe that a direct Internet-based exchange is the most efficient channel. Major companies who have enough resources for international markets may agree with the argument. However, for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), it is risky, extremely time consuming, and costly to find an ideal counterpart directly in electronic international marketplaces. SMEs usually have limited knowledge and experience on foreign markets. E-intermediaries can help them to decrease the problems. Furthermore, e-intermediaries offer SMEs a level playing field in relation to their larger competitors, providing low-cost and efficient interconnectivity. This study is intended to examine some marketing determinants of e-intermediary use. In specific, internal factors (i.e., international competence and product`s commodity content) and external factor (i.e., uncertainty) are empirically investigated through structural equation modeling (SEM). This study collected data from senior mangers of small and medium sized exporters in Korea. In the current globalized market, it is necessary for all exporters to gain competitive advantages that strengthen their market position and ensure their long-term success. This study has tried to convince exporters of the importance of e-intermediary as an efficient exporting strategy to achieve the competitive advantages.

Development of Matlab/Simulink Module for Voltage Flicker Simulation in Distribution Power Systems

Power quality simulation plays an important role in many practical cases, for example, when deciding the capacity of the related mitigation devices, assessing the influence of installing a nonlinear load in the distribution part, dissolving the quality issues between utilities and customers, and so on. For these purposes, many dedicated tools have been used in order to assess the level of quality distortions by various kinds of PQ indices. However, there are few modules that can accurately simulate the flicker phenomenon, that is, $P_{st}$ and the nonlinear and chaotic behavior of the electrical arc furnace, which is one of the representative nonlinear loads. This paper deals with the useful and simple modules for the voltage flicker simulation in the distribution and transmission level under the environment of Matlab/Simulink. With these modules, the various conditions of distribution systems and the capacities of arc furnaces with the chaotic characteristic can be easily taken into account.

Global Use of B2B e-Marketplaces

정보통신기술의 발전과 함께 기업들은 글로벌시장에서 다양한 기회와 도전에 직면하고 있다. 이러한 환경에서 B2B 이마켓플레이스의 적극적인 활용은 기업들에 있어서 특히 중소기업들에 있어서 글로벌시장에 효과적으로 진출할 수 있는 대안이 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 개별국가 차원에서 B2B 이마켓플레이스 이용과 관련된 요인들 및 성과에 관해 실증적인 분석을 목표로 하고 한다. 구체적으로 B2B 이마켓플레이스 이용요인과 관련해서는 글로벌라이제이션 세 가지 측면(경제적, 정치적, 기술적 글로벌라이제이션)의 영향력을 분석하고 있다. 또한 B2B 이마켓플레이스의 이용성과와 관련해서는 개별국가의 수출성과에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 방법론 측면에서는 언급된 다양한 변수들 간의 구체적인 인과관계들을 분석하기 위하여 구조방정식(SEM: Structural Equation Modeling)이 활용되고 있다. 이러한 과정을 통해 분석된 결과들은 기업들 특히 중소기업들에 있어서 B2B 이마켓플레이스의 중요성에 대해 일깨워 줄 수 있다. 또한 정책당사자들에게는 B2B 이마켓플레이스와 관련한 정책 수립에 있어서 실질적인 방향제시를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Role of Strategic Conformity to Institutional Environments

Economic choices are constrained not only by the technological, informational, and income limits but by institutional factors such as social norm, habits, and customs. In other words, institutional environments can be constraints on strategies. Interestingly, the institutional perspective provides different viewpoints to explain competitive advantage and organizational performance, So far, negative aspects have been often emphasized in the institutional perspective. However, the institutional perspective has positive aspects as well. Institutional environments can be constraints as well as opportunities to generate competitive advantage, which allows organizations to enhance performance, This study examines a unique organizational strategy to decrease uncertainty regarding external environments and increase performance, In specific, strategic conformity is introduced as a key factor determining organizational performance under institutional environments. Also. the interesting Microsoft case is discussed regarding organizational conformity to institutional environments to enhance performance.

시장외적인 환경은 기업전략 및 성과와 밀접한 관련이 있으며 기존연구들에 의하면 이러한 환경들에 대해 유연한 접근법, 역동적인 접근법, 시장에 순응하는 접근법, 시장을 선도하는 접근법 등의 다양한 접근방식들이 논의되고 있다. 일반적으로 기업들은 외적시장 환경의 특성을 감안하여 이러한 접근방식에 바탕을 둔 기업전략을 수립하게 된다. 이머징 시장(emerging market)의 중요성과 함께 제도환경(institutional environment)에 대한 논의도 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 기업의 전략적 태도에 따라서 이러한 제도적 환경은 시장기회(opportunity)요인이 될 수도 있고 동시에 시장위협(constrain) 요인이 될 수도 있다. 본 연구에서는 제도이론 (the institutional theory)을 바탕으로 제도적 환경에 대한 전략적 순응(strategic environment)이 기업전략 및 성과향상에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 한국 및 미국의 VCB(venture capital backed) 기업에 초점을 맞추어 논의하고자 한다.

Influences of e-Intermediary Use on Transaction Costs in Dependent Exporting Channels

이 연구는 e-무역상사 이용이 중소기업 수출 거래비용에 미치는 영향에 대해 이론적․실증적 분석을 실시하고 있다. 중소기업은 e-무역상사를 통해 무역거래 상대방, 거래 제품에 대한 효과적인 조사와 분석을 실시할 수 있다. 또한 e-무역상사를 통해 거래 상대방을 대체하는 것도 어렵지 않다. 이와 함께 e-무역상사 이용을 통해 매도인과 매수인 사이의 효과적인 의사소통도 가능하다. 그 결과 e-무역상사 이용으로 중소기업은 수출거래 관련 조사비용, 협상비용, 감시 비용을 절감할 수 있다. 수출거래에 있어서 의존성도 중요한 변수이다. 이 연구에서는 e-무역상사 이용효과 관련 의존성에 의한 조절효과도 논의되고 있다. This study investigates the effects of electronic intermediary (e-Intermediary) use. In specific, this study focuses on transaction costs to examine the effects. E-Intermediaries can help Small and Medium Exporters (SMEs) to decrease the cost of searching for the relevant sources in the “virtual jungle”. Replacing or substituting a foreign partner or distributor may not be difficult for e-Intermediaries. Bargaining power may belong to SMEs using e-Intermediaries. SMEs may decrease bargaining costs. E-Intermediaries may prevent SMEs from opportunistic behaviors of foreign business partners, which can decrease monitoring costs in their exporting channel relationships. Dependence is the most widely studied aspect of the channel working. This study applies dependence to exporting channel relationships in terms of e-Intermediary use.

Evaluating the Strategies of Korean MNCs, Chaebols, to Enhance Performance in terms of Resource-Based. Transaction Cost, and Institutional Perspectives

This research examines the strategies of Korean MNCs (Multinational Corporations), Chaebols, to achieve competitive advantage and performance in terms of resource-based, transaction cost, and institutional perspectives. Although three perspectives have different viewpoints to explain achieving competitive advantage and performance, the unique market environment in Korea allows the application of the three perspectives to fit for examining the strategies of Chaebols to achieve competitive advantage and performance. The findings of this research show that the strategies applying to resource-based, transaction cost, and institutional perspectives: network capabilities with the government and intermediary firms, effective usage of organizational culture, and proactive response to the signals from the government can explain the competitive advantage and performance in Chaebols, In addition, the higher degree of the government supporting policies, the stronger relationship between establishing effective strategies and achieving competitive advantage and between achieving competitive advantage and enhancing performance. In the future research, studies taking a closer examination the effects of the strategies to performance through empirical tests with Chaebols are suggested.

Theoretical Relationships among Strategic Conformity, Firm Performance and Environmental Uncertainty

이 연구는 환경순응의 역할에 기반을 둔 조직전략에 관한 이론적 분석이다. 이 연구에서는 불확실한 시장 환경 속에서 환경순응 전략(strategic conformity)이 기업성과와 관련해 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해서 이론적으로 분석하고자 한다. 환경순응 전략은 시장 위험의 감소와 직접적인 연관 관계가 있다. 따라서 금융위기와 같은 시장 불확실이 높아질 때 환경순응 전략의 효과가 극대화 될 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 최근 해외시장에 대해서 특히 이머징마켓 (emerging markets)에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 이머징마켓은 기업의 해외시장 진출과 관련해 핵심적 목표시장이 되고 있다. 이머징마켓의 대표적인 특징은 높은 수준의 제도적 환경(institutional environment)이다. 이러한 제도적 환경은 일반적으로 시장 불학실성을 높일 수 있는 중요한 변수이기도 하다. 따라서 이머징마켓의 시장 환경에서는 환경순응 전략이 기업성과 향상과 관련해 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

The Competitiveness of Korea’s Container Ports in the World: The Effect of Port Networks and Trade Environment

This study aims to evaluate the relative competitiveness of Korea’s container ports using a cross-country analysis. Specifically, we explore the dynamics of port networks as one of the key dimensions that explain container port performance. Further, trade environment is considered as an external contingency. Using 287 observations from 105 countries in the period of 2007-2012, we found that liner shipping connectivity and traffic volume per unit connect are positively related with the performance of container ports and that trade cost and trade-related infrastructure moderate the relationship. Overall, this research provides a meaningful insight into how to manage a seaport as a platform for international trade.
