A Job Loading Procedure as a Kernel Part of FMS Intergrated Operating System and Its Evaluation
Hiroshi, Katayama 한국경영과학회 1996 Management Science and Financial Engineering Vol.2 No.1
FMS operating system consists of several subsystems in general, i.e. tool grouping subsystem, tool/job assignment subsystem, job dispatching subsystem, and papers dealing with each subsystem were published by many researchers [1],[4],[6],[8],[9],[10],[11],[12],[13],[14],[15],[16]. This paper mainly discusses about tool/job assignment subsystem as a job loading procedure, that occupies the kernel position of overall FMS operating system. Its performance is evaluated through simulation experiments of an integrated operating system under a typical FMS hardware configuration implemented in many machining factories, which is composed of the proposed procedure as well as a job dispatching procedure including several heuristic dispatching rules in terms of rule-base.

This paper, focusing on human and technological aspects, tries to figure out the feature of “Samsung Group’sShin Kyoung Young” which has been conducted past 20 years by Chairman Dr. Lee Kyeong Hee. Thecontents include review of notable changes in business environment occurred these two decades, roles ofhuman and technology resources for high quality management and the distinguished features of the way ofSamsung Group management. Then, some case activities are investigated for understanding its strengthfollowed by possible efforts for their future longitudinal success.
Study on New Ku-band Data Collection Satellite to Track Avian Influenza
Isao NAKAJIMA,Hiroshi JUZOJI,Toshihiko KITANO,Masaaki KATAYAMA 한국멀티미디어학회 2011 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2011 No.-
This paper intends to point out some problem of telemetry for wild birds and future technical expectations to prevent Avian Influenza. For medium to large migratory birds, the data collection system aboard the NOAA meteorological satellites (the ARGOS system) has been able to map their migratory routes. However, recommended C/No for Doppler shift ill be 54㏈㎐, while calculated required C/No for 400 bps data uplink is 36㏈㎐. The gap between navigation function and data communication will be almost 18 ㏈. The bird has to pay this overload. We would like to propose the next generation digital transponder that is an advanced DCS with multi beam on Ku-band to perform the onboard processing (DCS and navigation system with Doppler shift). In case of 40㏈i antenna of the spacecraft, the ground terminal with 0㏈m RF-output and 2.25㏈i antenna (0.5㎝ in size) can transmit upto 50 bps with BPSK. This terminal attached with a leg of a bird will be suitable for a dove or a gull in size.
ESTIMATING OPPORTUNITY COSTS OF ADVANCED MANUFACTURING SYSTEM USING ABC INFORMATION
Lee, Deok-Joo,Katayama, Hiroshi 한국경영과학회 1998 한국경영과학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.- No.1
This study is an attempt to quantify the intangible benefits of AMSs from a standpoint of cost estimation problem. We propose a model in which the intangible benefits can be converted into appropriate monetary values using relevant operational information obtained from Activity- based costing (ABC) analysis. The present model is based the rationale that a wide range of intangible benefits of an AMS can be viewed as opportunity costs which might be incurred if the company did not invest in the AMS. Furthermore we present an example which illustrates the procedure of cost estimation by using the simulation technique.

Several prospective studies on laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy for early gastric cancer have been initiated, but no prospectivestudy evaluating laparoscopy-assisted total gastrectomy or laparoscopy-assisted proximal gastrectomy has been completed to date. Anon-randomized confirmatory trial was commenced in April 2015 to evaluate the safety of laparoscopy-assisted total gastrectomy andlaparoscopy-assisted proximal gastrectomy for clinical stage I gastric cancer. A total of 245 patients will be accrued from 42 Japaneseinstitutions over 3 years. The primary endpoint is the proportion of patients with anastomotic leakage. The secondary endpoints areoverall survival, relapse-free survival, proportion of patients with completed laparoscopy-assisted total gastrectomy or laparoscopy-assistedproximal gastrectomy, proportion of patients with conversion to open surgery, adverse events, and short-term clinical outcomes. TheUMIN Clinical Trials Registry number is UMIN000017155.
