        Adaptive Correlation Noise Model for DC Coefficients in Wyner-Ziv Video Coding

        An adaptive correlation noise model (CNM) construction algorithm is proposed in this paper to increase the efficiency of parity bits for correcting errors of the side information in transform domain Wyner-Ziv (WZ) video coding. The proposed algorithm introduces two techniques to improve the accuracy of the CNM. First, it calculates the mean of direct current (DC) coefficients of the original WZ frame at the encoder and uses it to assist the decoder to calculate the CNM parameters. Second, by considering the statistical property of the transform domain correlation noise and the motion characteristic of the frame, the algorithm adaptively models the DC coefficients of the correlation noise with the Gaussian distribution for the low motion frames and the Laplacian distribution for the high motion frames, respectively. With these techniques, the proposed algorithm is able to make a more accurate approximation to the real distribution of the correlation noise at the expense of a very slight increment to the coding complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the average peak signal-to-noise ratio of the decoded WZ frames by 0.5 dB to 1.5 dB.

        Influence of errors and floating on static load-sharing characteristics of twin rotors concentric face-gear power-split transmission system

        Twin rotors concentric face-gear power-split transmission system (TRCFGPSTS) is a new and more advanced main reducer configuration of the high-speed helicopter. Its loadsharing performance between different branches has a great impact on the service life performance. Its load distribution is complex, and the research on the influence law of error on loadsharing performance is not clear. Therefore, to study the influence of system error and pinions floating on the mechanical properties of the system, the static load-sharing mathematical model of the system was established. The load-sharing model comprehensively considers the factors of manufacturing error (ME) and installation error (IE), meshing stiffness, torsional stiffness, support stiffness and member floating. The coordination conditions of torsional angle elastic deformation of the system with central displacement offset and the mechanical balance conditions under the action of elastic support and floating support are derived, which reflects the change law of load distribution from the perspective of the system as a whole. The load-sharing model is solved by the least square method. The load-sharing coefficient (LSC) of the system is obtained. The influence of ME, IE and floating pinions on load-sharing performance is analyzed. The results show that the LSC shows irregular periodic fluctuation under the combined action of error, and the LSC is 1.212. Under the single influence of ME, the LSC also shows irregular periodic fluctuation, and the LSC is 1.610. Under the single influence of IE, the LSC presents a constant influence law, and the LSC is 1.326. The error of each gear in the III-stage has the most obvious influence on the load-sharing characteristics. The LSC of I-stage and II-stage floating pinion under the single influence are 1.113 and 1.120, respectively. The floating gear can significantly improve the load-sharing performance, and meet the load-sharing at the ±5 % service requirement.

        Morphological and Hemodynamic Parameters for Middle Cerebral Artery Bifurcation Aneurysm Rupture Risk Assessment

        Objective : To investigate the morphological and hemodynamic parameters associated with middle cerebral artery (MCA) bifurcation aneurysm rupture. Methods : A retrospective study of 67 consecutive patients was carried out based on 3D digital subtraction angiography data. Morphological and hemodynamic parameters including aneurysm size parameters (dome width, height, and perpendicular height), longest dimension from the aneurysm neck to the dome tip, neck width, aneurysm area, aspect ratio, Longest dimension from the aneurysm neck to the dome tip (Dmax) to dome width, and height-width, Bottleneck factor, as well as wall shear stress (WSS), low WSS area (LSA), percentage of LSA (LSA%) and energy loss (EL) were estimated. Parameters between ruptured and un-ruptured groups were analyzed. Receiver operating characteristics were generated to check prediction performance of all significant variables. Results : Sixty-seven patients with MCA bifurcation aneurysm were included (31 unruptured, 36 ruptured). Dmax (p=0.008) was greater in ruptured group than that in un-ruptured group. D/W (p<0.001) and the percentage of the low WSS area ($0.09{\pm}0.13$ vs. $0.01{\pm}0.03$, p<0.001) were also greater in the ruptured group. Moreover, the EL in ruptured group was higher than that in unruptured group ($6.39{\pm}5.04$ vs. $1.53{\pm}0.86$, p<0.001). Multivariate regression analysis suggested D/W and EL were significant predictors of rupture of MCA bifurcation aneurysms. Correlation analyses revealed the D/W value was positively associated with the EL (R=0.442, p<0.01). Conclusion : D/W and EL might be the most two favorable factors to predict rupture risk of MCA bifurcation aneurysms.

      • NUMERICAL SIMULATION AND PREDICTION OF NEGATIVE STORM SURGE IN THE YANGTZE RIVER ESTUARY

        An attempt is made by using both statistical model and multi-layer simplified ECOM-Si model with temperature and salinity effects neglected to investigate numerically the negative storm surge (SS) in the Yangtze River estuary. An operational system for predicting the negative SS are constructed in conjunction of ECOM-Si model with the operational limited-area fine-mesh numerical weather prediction (NWP) model developed by the Shanghai Typhoon Institute(STI).To test the reliability of ECOM-Si model and to understand the computational feature of the model in simulating sea surface elevation, both semi-diurnal tide computation at the river mouth tidal station and numerical SS simulations under the action of idealized easterly and westerly winds are completed. Based on these experiments, a series of negative SS simulations induced by the cold wave, tropical and extratropical cyclones are carried out respectively, in which the objective analysis data of atmospheric forcings on the sea surface are offered by STI NWP model. Case experiments show that the predicted peak negative SS are coincident with the real ones and the phase differences between them are within a acceptable limit. The system is hopeful in operational use for predicting negative SS in the Yangtze River estuary.

      • Sleep Duration and Cancer Risk: a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Prospective Studies

        To assess the risk of cancers associated with sleep duration using meta-analysis of published cohort studies, we performed a comprehensive search using PubMed, Embase and Web of Science through October 2013. We combined hazard ratios (HRs) from individual studies using meta-analysis approaches. A random effect dose-response analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between sleep duration and cancer risk. Subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses were also performed. Publication bias was evaluated using Funnel plots and Begg's test. A total of 13 cohorts from 12 studies were included in this meta-analysis, which included 723, 337 participants with 15, 156 reported cancer outcomes during a follow-up period ranging from 7.5 to 22 years. The pooled adjusted HRs were 1.06 (95% CI: 0.92, 1.23; P for heterogeneity =0.003) for short sleep duration, 0.91 (95% CI: 0.78, 1.07; P for heterogeneity <0.0001) for long sleep duration. In subgroup analyses stratified by cancer type, long duration of sleep showed an inverse relation with hormone-related cancer (HR=0.79; 95% CI: 0.65, 0.97; P for heterogeneity =0.009) and a greater risk of colorectal cancer (HR=1.29; 95% CI: 1.09, 1.52; P for heterogeneity =0.346). Further meta-analysis on dose-response relationships showed that the relative risks of cancer were 1.00 (95% CI: 0.99, 1.01; P for linear trend=0.9151) for one hour of sleep increment per day, and 1.00 (95% CI: 0.98, 1.01; P for linear trend=0.7749) for one hour of sleep increment per night. No significant dose-response relationship between sleep duration and cancer was found on non-linearity testing (P=0.5053). Our meta-analysis suggests a positive association between long sleep duration and colorectal cancer, and an inverse association with incidence of hormone related cancers like those in the breast. Studies with larger sample size, longer follow-up times, more cancer types and detailed measure of sleep duration are warranted to confirm these results.

        중국 20-30대의 항주와 상해의 온라인 쇼핑 이용 현황 및 쇼핑동기, 쇼핑태도, 쇼핑 만족도의 비교 분석

        중국은 최근 놀랄 만큼 IT 발달로 인해 온라인 시장이 급성장 하고 있다. 가장 인터넷 인구가 많은 20-30대 인터넷에서 의류 온라인 쇼핑 경험이 있는 대상자들을 대상으로 글로벌 경제도시인 상해와 관광도시이며 신소비도시인 항주시를 선정하여 독립변수로 사용하여 이 독립변수에 따른 온라인 쇼핑이용 현황을 파악하고, 온라인 쇼핑 동기, 온라인 쇼핑 태도, 온라인 쇼핑 만족도, 구매품목을 비교하고자 하였다. 연구방법은 중국어로 된 설문지법을 사용하였고, 샘플링은 편의추출법으로 중국 온라인상에서 이루어졌으며 총 400부의 수집된 설문지의 데이터가 분석에 사용되었다. SPSS를 사용하여 통계분석을 실시한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 지역 변수가 중국 20-30대의 온라인 쇼퍼들의 인터넷 이용 사이트와 연관성이 있음을 확인하였고 가장 최근 타오바오에서 가장 많이 구매하는 현황을 읽을 수 있었다. 또한 기술 통계분석결과 온라인에서 가장 최근 구매한 아이템으로 가장 높은 비율은 의류 부분에서 나타났다. 지역이라는 변인에 따라 유의한 차이가 온라인 쇼핑 시 의복 구매 동기에서 보여졌는데 항주시 소비자들은 쇼핑시간과 옷이 낡은 것이 온라인 구매를 하게 되는 경향이 보였고 반면에 상해 사람들은 스타의 옷, 친구의 옷, 계절적 요인이 의복을 구매하게 되는 동기가 되는 경향을 보였다. 쇼핑태도에서도 지역간 유의한 차이가 있었으며 항주시 소비자는 온라인 쇼핑 시간을 즐기는 태도에서, 상해 시 소비자들은 온라인 쇼핑에서 편안함을 느끼나 동시에 입어보지 못하는 불편과 가짜상품 가능성과 품질에서 위험을 지각하는 경향이 나타났다. 이외에도 지역이란 변수에 따라서 만족도에 유의한 차이가 보였는데 디자인, 편안함, 서비스에서 상해 소비자들의 만족도가 더 높게 나타났다. 중국의 경우 지역이라는 변수가 온라인 쇼핑마켓의 세분화에 매우 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 본다. Recently, Chinese online shopping is incredibly increasing in aspects of the number of internet users and sales due to the IT development. This study was interested in online shopper who aged 20 to 30 with an experience to purchase in online shopping mall. Therefore, the purpose was to investigate online shopping situation of the use, shopping motivation, shopping attitudes, shopping satisfaction, and items of the purchase in different cities in China; Hangzhou and Shanghai. Data was collected from Chinese online survey cite using questionnaire with Chinese language and 400 data were analyzed. We conclude the followings from the results of statistical analysis. There found to be a significant difference between two different area consumers in visiting online web site to purchase. Big current increase of sales was found in the Taobao, and the best seller category in online shopping was apparel which indicate blue ocean. In several purchase motivation variables, there was a significant difference. Hangzhou consumers in online shopping were motivated more by not enough offline shopping time and by aged clothing, while shanghai consumers did more by star``and friend``s clothing, and by seasonal reasons. In addition, there was a significant difference in consumer attitudes and satisfaction. Hangzhou consumers enjoy online shopping time, while Shanghai consumers have positive attitude with both comfort and perceived risks which are quality risk and product risk. Area variable influence on consumers`` satisfaction. Shanghai consumers had a higher satisfaction in aspects of design, comfort and service in online shopping. This finding would be helpful to set a strategy to understand consumers and make segmentation for target market.

        Layout Optimization of Stiffeners in Heavy-Duty Thin-Plate Box Grider

        The optimization of layout and sizes of the stiffeners in heavy-duty box girder could make this kind of the structure more compact and reasonable, which has certain engineering values. In this study, on the basis of the establishment of parametric finite element model, the function approaching method and gradient search method are combined to form a high-precision optimization algorithm, which makes structural analysis be integrated into the optimization process. The optimization takes the type and location of longitudinal stiffening ribs and the thickness and hole position of transverse diaphragms as design variables, the box girder structural behaviors as constraint conditions, and the total volume as objective function. Finally, the weight is reduced by nearly 7%. More importantly, the new asymmetrical layout of the stiffeners is obtained, the distance between the longitudinal stiffening ribs on the main web and the neutral layer is longer than the distance between the longitudinal stiffening ribs on the secondary web and the neutral layer, and the hole position of transverse diaphragms is close to the secondary web. Compared with the current production of symmetrical layout structure, this layout provides a new idea for the design of stiffeners in the bias-rail box girder.

        pH-dependent release of platycodin mitigates its gastrointestinal mucosa irritation after oral administration in rats

        The present study aimed to evaluate the gastrointestinalmucosa irritation of three platycodin formulations. Platycodin-loaded core pellets were prepared viaextrusion–spheronization method and coated withEudragit L100-55 (L100) or Eudragit S100 (S100) forpH-dependent release. The release of platycodin D fromcoated pellets exhibited pH dependent release profiles. Thepharmacokinetic study in rats showed that Tmax of thecoated pellets were prolonged as compared to that of uncoatedpellets. The S100-coated pellets possess a lowerCmax and decreased AUC0–24h as compared to the L100-coated and uncoated pellets. Hematoxylin-eosin stainingand nuclear factor Kappa B (NF-jB) measurement werecarried out to observe the gastrointestinal mucosa irritations. The results revealed that the irritations of platycodinon the upper gastrointestinal mucosa are dose-dependent. However, no obvious irritation effect on the gastrointestinaltissues of rats was detected after oral administration ofthe coated pellets. In addition, the amount of NF-jB in thestomach of rats treated with the uncoated pellets was aboutfivefold higher as compared to that of the coated pellets. Insummary, the L100-coated platycodin pellets exhibitedhigher oral bioavailability and less gastrointestinal mucosairritations as compared to the other two formulations.

        A parallel tasks Scheduling heuristic in the Cloud with multiple attributes

        There are two targets to schedule parallel jobs in the Cloud: (1) scheduling the jobs as many as possible, and (2) reducing the average execution time of the jobs. Most of previous work mainly focuses on the computing speed of resources without considering other attributes, such as bandwidth, memory and so on. Especially, past work does not consider the supply-demand condition from those attributes. Resources have different attributes, considering those attributes together makes the scheduling problem more difficult. This is the problem that we try to solve in this paper. First of all, we propose a new parallel job scheduling method based on a classification method of resources from different attributes, and then a scheduling method-CPLMT (Cloud parallel scheduling based on the lists of multiple attributes) is proposed for the parallel tasks. The classification method categories resources into different kinds according to the number of resources that satisfy the job from different attributes of the resource, such as the speed of the resource, memory and so on. Different kinds have different priorities in the scheduling. For the job that belongs to the same kinds, we propose CPLMT to schedule those jobs. Comparisons between our method, FIFO (First in first out), ASJS (Adaptive Scoring Job Scheduling), Fair and CMMS (Cloud-Minmin) are executed under different environments. The simulation results show that our proposed CPLMT not only reduces the number of unfinished jobs, but also reduces the average execution time.
