<P>Kim T H, Kim Y K, Kwon Y, Heo J H, Kang H, Kim G & An H J(2010) <I>Histopathology</I><B>57</B>, 734–743 <B>Deregulation of miR-519a, 153, and 485-5p and its clinicopathological relevance in ovarian epithelial tumours</B></P><P>Aims: </P><P>The pathological and clinical significance of aberrant miRNA expression in ovarian tumours has yet to be adequately documented. The aim of this study was to assess the differences in miRNA expression of human ovarian tumours according to histological subtype, and to determine whether miRNAs are potential diagnostic and prognostic markers in ovarian cancers.</P><P>Method and results: </P><P>The miRNA expression profiles of 103 human ovarian tumours were evaluated. Via a bead-based miRNA microarray, five aberrant miRNAs were selected which were expressed differentially in malignant serous tumours from borderline and benign ovarian tumours, including miRNA (miR)-519a, miR-18b (up-regulation) and miR-153, miR-511 and miR-485-5p (down-regulation). We conducted quantitative real-time reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (qRT–PCR) in order to confirm that these miRNAs are differentially expressed in different histological subtypes of ovarian tumours, and compared the expression profiles of these miRNAs between different clinical subsets. The expression of these miRNAs was correlated with clinicopathological parameters. miR-519a, miR-153 and miR-485-5p were differentially expressed in four major histotypes of ovarian cancers (<I>P </I>< 0.05), which suggests that they might be of potential importance as diagnostic biomarkers. Down-regulation of miR-153 and miR-485-5p was correlated significantly with FIGO grade 3 (<I>P </I>< 0.05). Down-regulation of miR-153 and up-regulation of miR-519a were correlated significantly with advanced clinical stage (<I>P </I>< 0.05). The results of Kaplan–Meier survival analysis indicated that the higher expression of miR-519a in late stage serous carcinoma was associated significantly with poor progression-free survival (<I>P </I>= 0.0058).</P><P>Conclusions: </P><P>A significant correlation was detected between the deregulation of specific types of miRNAs, such as miR-519a, miR-153 and miR-485-5p, and clinical variables as well as histological subtypes in ovarian cancers. Hence, these miRNAs may perform functions as diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers.</P>
C<sup>1</sup> HERMITE INTERPOLATION WITH MPH CURVES USING PH-MPH TRANSITIVE MAPPINGS

We introduce polynomial PH-MPH transitive mappings which transform planar PH curves to MPH curves in ${\mathbb{R}}^{2,1}$, and prove that parameterizations of Enneper surfaces of the 1st and the 2nd kind and conjugates of Enneper surfaces of the 2nd kind are PH-MPH transitive. We show how to solve $C^1$ Hermite interpolation problems in ${\mathbb{R}}^{2,1}$, for an admissible $C^1$ Hermite data-set, by using the parametrization of Enneper surfaces of the 1st kind. We also show that we can obtain interpolants for at least some inadmissible data-sets by using MPH biarcs on Enneper surfaces of the 1st kind.

<P>Lefty expression has been recognized as a stemness marker because Lefty is enriched both in undifferentiated embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and in blastocysts. Here, we examined the function of Lefty1 and Lefty2 in the maintenance of self-renewal and pluripotency of mouse ESCs (mESCs). Suppression of Lefty1 or Lefty2 expression in mESCs did not alter the self-renewal properties of mESCs under nondifferentiating conditions, but suppression of these genes did affect Smad2 phosphorylation and differentiation. Lefty1 knockdown mESCs showed enhanced phosphorylation of Smad2 and increased differentiation potential, whereas Lefty2 knockdown mESCs exhibited reduced phosphorylation of Smad2 and enhanced self-renewal in the presence of a differentiation signal. In vivo, teratomas developed from Lefty2 knockdown mESCs contained massive expansions of immature neuroepithelium, a marker of malignant teratomas. Taken together, these results suggest that optimal expression of Lefty1 and Lefty2 is critical for the balanced differentiation of mESCs into three germ layers.</P>

많은 내장형 시스템이 분산 제어 방식을 채용하고 있는 현재, 소프트웨어 개발자들이 이기종으로 구성된 시스템의 설계 및 관리에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 따라 범용 통신 미들웨어인 CORBA, DCOM 등을 내장형 시스템에 사용하고자 하는 요구가 높아지고 있으나 이들은 분산 내장형 시스템의 고유한 제약 조건을 만족하지 못해 내장형 시스템에 사용된 전례가 드물다. 본 논문은 표준 CORBA의 ORB 프로토콜인 GIOP가 CAN 네트워크와 같은 내장형 콘트롤러 네트워크에 적용되었을 때 드러나는 문제점을 살펴보고, 이러한 고찰의 결과에 근거해 내장형 시스템 환경에 최적화된 새로운 ORB 프로토콜, EIOP (Embedded Inter-ORB Protocol)을 제안한다.
다각도 영상 합성의 속도 향상을 위한 영상유사도 생성 알고리즘

현재 사용 되어지고 있는 대부분의 영상 합성 알고리즘들은 영상의 크기가 클수록 계산량이 많아지는 특징이 있다. 따라서 UHD 영상을 대상으로 영상 합성을 할 때 속도가 기존의 HD 영상에 비해 크게 느리다는 점과 특수 카메라 사용 혹은 카메라 위치 고정 등의 제한이 필요하다는 점의 단점들이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 스마트폰에서 콘텐츠를 촬영한 영상들을 이용하여 영상 분류, Map 생성, Rendering 의 과정을 통해 현재 사용 되어지고 있는 영상 합성 알고리즘과 비교하여 보다 빠르게 영상 합성을 할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 촬영 시 EXIF 에 저장되는 GPS 정보를 이용하여 그룹화를 진행한 후 영상의 특징점 매칭을 통해 Map 을 생성하는 것이 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 FAST 특징점 알고리즘과 FREAK 기술자 알고리즘을 사용하였으며 Rendering 을 통하여 해당 알고리즘을 검증 하였다.

We report two cases of needle-tract seeding after cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinomas. The seeding nodule appeared 6 and 12 months on the follow-up computed tomographic scan, respectively. In both cases, the seeding nodules were solitary in the chest wall, and could be completely resected. (J Liver Cancer 2018;18:63-66)

In this study, Rubus coreanus (R. coreanus) byproducts with high polyphenol content were fermented with R. coreanus-derived lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus plantarum GBL 16 and 17). Then the effect of R. coreanus-derived lactic acid bacteria fermented feed (RC-LAB fermented feed) with probiotics (Bacillus subtills, Aspergillus oryzae, Yeast) as a feed additive for pigs on the composition of intestinal microbes and the regulation of intestinal immune homeostasis was investigated. Seventy-two finishing Berkshire pigs were randomly allotted to four different treatment groups and 18 replicates. RC-LAB fermented feed with probiotics increased the genera Lactobacillus, Streptococcus, Mitsuokella, Prevotella, Bacteroides spp., Roseburia spp., and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, which are beneficial bacteria of the digestive tract of pigs. Also, RC-LAB fermented feed with probiotics decreased the genera Clostridium, Terrisporobacter, Romboutsia, Kandleria, Megasphaera and Escherichia, which are harmful bacteria. In particular, the relative abundance of the genera Lactobacillus and Streptococcus increased by an average of 8.51% and 4.68% in the treatment groups and the classes Clostridia and genera Escherichia decreased by an average of 27.05% and 2.85% in the treatment groups. In mesenteric lymph nodes (MLN) and spleens, the mRNA expression of transcription factors and cytokines in Th1 and Treg cells increased and the mRNA expression of Th2 and Th17 transcription factors and cytokines decreased, indicating a regulatory effect on intestinal immune homeostasis. RC-LAB fermented feed regulates gut immune homeostasis by influencing the composition of beneficial and detrimental microorganisms in the gut and regulating the balance of Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg cells.
