In this paper we study the sequences defined by the last and the last non-zero digits of $n^n$ in base b. For the sequence given by the last digits of $n^n$ in base b, we prove its periodicity using different techniques than those used by W. Sierpinski and R. Hampel. In the case of the sequence given by the last non-zero digits of $n^n$ in base b (which had been studied only for b = 10) we show the non-periodicity of the sequence when b is an odd prime power and when it is even and square-free. We also show that if $b=2^2{^s}$ the sequence is periodic and conjecture that this is the only such case.
Why do Dance and Dance Studies need the Anthropology of Dance?

The article examines the relation between Dance Studies and the Anthropology of Dance. It gives an overview of their historical development in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, commenting on the underlying discrimination underpinning them. It argues that pockets of scholarship in Dance Studies remain based on cliches and unsupported assumptions and proposes that to move away from such ethnocentricism and to develop Dance Studies fit for the 21<sup>st</sup> century, the tools developed with the Anthropology of dance are needed.

세계적으로 많은 양의 바이오매스가 농업, 산림 및 에너지 자원으로 사용되고 있으나, 사용된 바이오매스의 많은 양은 여전히 단순 소각 후 폐기하고 있는 실정이다. 이는 자원의 낭비와 폐기 공간 부족 등의 문제를 초래하게 되며, 이에 따라 바이오매스 재의 처리 및 활용에 대한 방안은 시급하다고 하겠다. 따라서 바이오매스 재의 가장 큰 양을 차지하는 나무재를 건설재료로 활용할 수 있다면, 이는 자연자원의 보존과 쓰레기 저감에 크게 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단한다. 본 논문은 바이오매스 재의 한 종류인 나무재의 건설재료로서의 적용 가능성을 타진하기 위하여, 나무재의 미세구조를 관찰하고, 나무재 및 보강토의 투수계수와 압밀특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 나무재의 함량을 소량으로 제한하는 경우에 지반재료의 압축성에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않으며 투수성을 크게 감소시키는 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. Biomass has been used as agriculture, forest and energy resources. The combustion of biomass matter becomes biomass ash that is dumped without control or disposed in landfills. Thus, the recycling or treatment of biomass ash is required. Wood ash is one of largest portion of biomass ash. Therefore, the recycling of wood ash in construction area will provide both new types of renewable energy sources and an environmental solution reducing the waste. The main objective of this study is to explore the physical, mechanical properties of Ottawa 20/30 sand, wood ash and mixture of them including Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), hydraulic conductivity, and consolidation. It was observed that, small addition of wood ash to Ottawa 20/30 sand reduced the permeability significantly without increasing compressibility much.

This paper proposes a location-based accessibility analysis framework to assess the suitability of urban consolidation platform location scenarios. First, an overview of urban consolidation is presented to identify the main types of platforms and the related scientific work. Then, the proposed framework is presented on the form of a three-step procedure. The first step is to generate goods transport demand using a delivery-to-commodity model. The second consists in estimating routes both for serving the consolidation platforms supplied by shippers and for delivering customers afterwards, using a VRP algorithm. The third step consists in performing an accessibility calculation. Starting from the distances travelled obtained by the vehicle routing algorithm, travel times (including vehicle running and stopping times) are estimated, after which a location-based accessibility indicator based on transport cost is obtained. To illustrate the framework proposed, an example of application for the city of Lyon (France) is presented. Therefore, three sets of scenarios are assessed and discussed. Finally, practical issues of the proposed method are presented.
Lower Airway Microbiota and Lung Cancer

This study was aimed at identifying the lower airway microbiota in patients with lung cancer (LC) using protected brush sampling. We enrolled 37 patients undergoing diagnostic bronchoscopy for suspected LC, 26 with LC and 11 with benign diseases. Protected brush specimens were obtained from the contralateral lung and the side of the tumor; these specimens were analyzed by 16S rRNA-based-next-generation sequencing. The results indicated that the biodiversity was not different between groups, and there were no significant differences between the proportion of microorganisms in the tumor and in the contralateral side of patients with LC. In patients with LC, there was a higher abundance of several microorganisms including Capnocytophaga, Haemophilus, Enterococcus, and Streptococcus; whereas, in individuals without LC, Bacteroides, Lactobacillus, or Methylobacterium were more abundant. Malignancy could be determined with an accuracy of 70% by isolating Enterococcus, Capnocytophaga, or Actinomyces. Microbispora indicated benignity with a sensitivity of 55%, specificity of 88%, and accuracy of 78%. Lower airway microbiota in patients with LC is fairly similar in both the tumor and contralateral sites. Endobronchial microbiota is different in patients with and without LC, and these differences may have a potential clinical value as diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers.
