A Supportable Format for Attribute Based Encryption in Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing is used for enabling convenient, on-demand network to access shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g. Networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) which are rapidly provisioned and released with management effort or service provider interaction. Cloud technology allows for much more efficient computing by centralizing storage, memory, processing and bandwidth. The security is the major issue in the cloud computing. The issue is overcome by the encryption. The various encryption standards ensure the cloud security. Attribute-based encryption (ABE) is a vision of public key encryption that allows users to encrypt and decrypt messages based on user attributes. In a typical implementation, the size of the cipher text is proportional to the number of attributes associated with it and the decryption time is proportional to the number of attributes used during decryption To reduce the decryption time in outsourced encryption method the user provides a transformation key to the cloud to translate any ABE cipher text into simple cipher text and it only incurs a small computational overhead for the user to recover the plaintext from the transformed cipher text. The proposed system introduces the Verifiable Outsourced Encryption so that the user can check the correctness of the transformation performed by the cloud server and the user let to know the data is not modified by the untrusted servers.

Diverse Nation, Diverse Curriculum: Multicultural Education in Canada’s Public Schools

Multicultural education has been an integral component of Canadian public education for more than 40 years. As might be expected with any element of public education that is more than 4 decades old, the nature and intent of multicultural education in Canada has evolved over time and has become a mirror of the changing ways in which Canada has imagined its increasingly diverse population and its national identity, In this paper, we examine multicultural education in three particular aspects. First, we describe the social and political context of multiculturalism in Canada. Second, we focus on multicultural education in provincial curriculum with special emphasis on the province of Alberta, and finally, we take up the more recent shift in multicultural education that suggests that the discipline can be viewed as a form of citizenship education. In our conclusion we touch briefly on education in Korea to return to the idea that national contexts have a significant influence on the ways in which multicultural education is understood and delivered.

The conceptual meaning of international integration within the community of socialist states has by now evolved through several distinct stages. From fairly primitive beginning which cast the newborn Council for Mutual Economic Aid(COMECON) in the role of a clearing-house for trade liaisons between the member states, the operation has progressively assumed more elaborate functions and forms. Each phase has been marked by its own set of doctrinal rationales, policy priorities, economic techniques and organizational methods. Official rhetoric has pictured all the segments as vitally interrelated and the entire record as a consistent and coherent application of the principles of Marxist analytical theory to the phenomenon of emergence and growth of a socialist economic union on a regional scale.

Unwittingly, perhaps, the electoral promises of presidential candidate Jimmy Carter ignited a controversy in Asia which has taken the intrllectual form of a debate like dialogue about strategy, but an emotional form of a cultural and religious crisis. "The Korean people have been good allies of America" said one Korean political scientists at a strategy conference in Seoul in early 1977. "Why does America wish to abandon us now?" His American colleague tried to explain that Koreans should understand that the withdrawal of troops from Korea was meant, not as a punishment related to issues of human rights, but as a mere repositioning of forces. "The American commitment to Korea," he emphasized, "remains unchanged."

Cilostazol for Secondary Prevention of Stroke: Should the Guidelines Perhaps Be Extended?

Cilostazol belongs to the new generation antiplatelet agents that have been introduced and studied regarding a potential role in cardiovascular disease prevention or treatment. Although data on peripheral artery disease are sufficient, and the drug has been recommended as first line treatment for intermittent claudication, it has not been approved nor recommended as far as cerebrovascular events are concerned. However, a great volume of randomized as well as pooled data has been published during the last years. Therefore, this review aims to describe the basic mechanisms of cilostazol’s action as well as to present all recent clinical data in order to conclude on whether official guidelines should be extended.

Hydrodynamic performance of a vertical slotted breakwater

The wave interaction problem with a vertical slotted breakwater, consisting of impermeable upper, lower parts and a permeable middle part, has been studied theoretically. An analytical model was presented for the estimation of reflection and transmission of monochromatic waves by a slotted breakwater. The far-field solution of the wave scattering involving nonlinear porous boundary condition was obtained using eigenfunction expansion method. The empirical formula for drag coefficient in the near-field, representing energy dissipation across the slotted barrier, was determined by curve fitting of the numerical solutions of 2-D channel flow using CFD code StarCCM+. The theoretical model was validated with laboratory experiments for various configurations of a slotted barrier. It showed that the developed analytical model can correctly predict the energy dissipation caused by turbulent eddies due to sudden contraction and expansion of a slotted barrier. The present paper provides a synergetic approach of the analytical and numerical modelling with minimum CPU time, for better estimation of the hydrodynamic performance of slotted breakwater.

Subject-verb Inversion in Greek : Implications for Head Movement and Typology

The empirical domain of investigation in this paper is the phenomenon of ‘obligatory (subject–verb) inversion’ in Greek, whereby a subject cannot intervene between a fronted interrogative phrase and the inflected verb in constituent questions. The paper examines three accounts of the phenomenon that have been proposed in the literature and provides a host of evidence against two of them, which employ T–to–C head movement. I also show that the third analysis (Anagnostopoulou 1994), which relies on Relativized Minimality (Rizzi 1990, 2001), is not entirely satisfactory and I propose to supplement it with a condition requiring PF (linear) adjacency between the verb group (V+clitics+preverbal particles) and the covert interrogative C[+Q] at PF. Having established the fact that this requirement is distinct from V–to–T verb movement I (i) argue that ‘normal’ head movement belongs to narrow syntax (contra Chomsky 2001), and (ii) examine the typology of inversion, by considering the similarities and differences of the Greek inverted orders to these of other languages.

Role of Mitochondrial Lactate Dehydrogenase and Lactate Oxidation in the Intracellular Lactate Shuttle

To evaluate the potential role of mitochondrial lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in tissue lactate clearance and oxidation in vivo, isolated rat liver, cardiac, and skeletal muscle mitochondria were incubated with lactate, pyruvate, glutamate, and succinate. As well, a-cyano-4-hydroxycin-namate (CINN), a known monocarboxylate transport inhibitor, and oxamate, a known LDH inhibitor were used. Mitochondria readily oxidized pyruvate and lactate, with similar state 3 and 4 respiratory rates, respiratory control (state 3ystate 4), and ADPyO ratios. With lactate or pyruvate as substrates, a-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamate blocked the respira-tory response to added ADP, but the block was bypassed by addition of glutamate (complex I-linked) and succinate (complex 11 linked) substrates. Oxamate increased pyruvate (`10-40%), but blocked lanctate oxidation. Gel electrophoresis and electron microscopy indicated LDH isoenzyme distribution patterns to display tissue specificity, but the LDH isoenzyme patterns in isolated mitochondria were distinct from those in surrounding cell compartments. In heart, LDH-1 (H4) was concentrated in mitochondria whereas LDH-5 (M4) was present in both mitochondria and surrounding cytosol and organelles. LDH-5 predominated in liver but was more abundant in mitochondria than elsewhere. Because lactate exceeds cytosolic pyruvate concentration by an order of magnitude, we conclude that lactate is the predominant monocarboxylate oxidized by mitochondria in vivo. Mammalian liver and striated muscle mitochondria can oxidize exogenous lactate because of an internal LDH pool that facilitates lactate oxidation.
