      • A Novel Design of Feeder System for Aqua Culture Suitable for Shrimp Farming

        Shrimp farming is one of the most important aqua cultural activities, but farmers are facing many serious problems like shrimp diseases partly due to problems with the shrimp having to cope with poor water quality during cultivation. After the long survey with the farmers in different regions about their practices in farming methods, the current paper provides some solutions to ensure our product Auto Switch Aqua Feeder 1(ASAF1) with new technologies replace with automation of the farming methods with their traditional practicing methods unchanged, and designed a user interface convenient and compactable for farming. User interface design, and timer controls are implemented on dsPIC30F5011 for automation of feeding methods and substantially reducing the labor cost and improve the quality of commodity.

      • A Privacy based Spatio-Temporal Query Processing

        The prevailing infrastructure of ubiquitous computing paradigm on the one hand making significant development for integrating technology in the daily life but on the other hand raising concerns for privacy and confidentiality. Here in this paper we are addressing the significance of our proposed scheme, a query processing architecture for privacy preservation in LBS, by providing flexible and efficient LBS model to ensure accurate and qualitative result set by employing some indexing scheme at location anonymizer as well as by Identifying possible adversary attacks to breach user privacy in the previous work with respect to location privacy and query privacy. Finally we will quantify the benefits of our approach using sampled results through experiments that the proposed cloaking algorithm is scalable, efficient and robust to support anonymity irrespective of scale of user queries in real time scenario.

      • A Crash Recovery Scheme for Log-Based File System over Flash Memory Using Shadow Paging

        Nowadays, NAND flash memory has become major storage in building portable information devices because of its non-volatility, shock-resistance, energy-friendly, and robust access time for read operations. One drawback of the flash memory file system is how to provide efficient roll back or crash recovery. This type of observation motivates our research on the investigation of crash recovery of flash-memory file systems. In this paper, we introduced a concept of shadow paging and presented a crash recovery scheme for log-based file systems over flash memory using shadow paging. In this paper a scheme is proposed for the crash recovery for log-based file systems over flash memory using shadow paging. We have also described the initialization and mounting of flash memory and we have given brief background on flash memory management like wear leveling, flash translation layer (FTL) and flash file system such as FAT/FAT32, ExFAT, JFFS2, LogFS and YAFFS. In addition, we have improved the Wear-Levelling of Garbage Collection Algorithms such as CATA, Greedy, and Cost Benefit by improving the flash memory device information.

        δ-­convex Structure on Rectangular Metric Spaces concerning Kannan­-type Contraction and Reich­-type Contraction

        In the present paper, we introduce the notation of δ-convex rectangular metric spaces with the help of convex structure. We investigate fixed point results concerning Kannan-type contraction and Reich-type contraction in such spaces. We also propound an ingenious example in reference of given new notion.

        Total Syntheses of Biologically Active Pterocarpan, Isoflavan, and Isoflavanone from Dalbergia oliveri

        Biological screening of the natural products from Dalbergia oliveri identified that (6aR,11aR)-3,8-dihydroxy-9-methoxypterocarpan and (3R)-7,2′-dihydroxy-4′,5′-dimethoxyisoflavanone significantly increased the proliferation of dermal papilla cells and subcutaneous injection of these compounds induced the anagen of hair cycle in animal models. These interesting biological activities led us to design a practical synthetic route to these natural products for further pharmacological evaluation. Here we report the first total syntheses of naturally occurring pterocarpan ((6aR,11aR)-3,8-dihydroxy-9-methoxypterocarpan), isoflavan ((3R)-5′-methoxyvestitol), and isoflavanone ((3R)-7,2′-dihydroxy-4′,5′-dimethoxyisoflavanone) in a racemic form. A mild ZnCl2-mediated [3 + 2] annulation method was utilized with chromenes and 2-methoxy-1,4-benzoquinone to construct a pterocarpan framework in a one-pot manner. O-methylation and reductive cleavage of the benzylic C─O bond afforded 5′-methoxyvestitol, which was transformed to isoflavanone, 7,2′-dihydroxy-4′,5′-dimethoxyisoflavanone, via a three-step sequence including DDQ-mediated benzylic oxidation.

        <P>Described herein is a novel one-pot, three-component reaction where aldehydes, electron-rich arenes, and TMSCN in the presence of BF3-OEt2 allowed direct access to a number of diarylacetonitriles under mild reaction conditions in good to excellent yields. Implementation of this assembly protocol to a concise synthetic approach to shoreaphenol, a bioactive oligostilbenoid natural product, is also demonstrated.</P>

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A convergent and scalable synthetic route to a tetracyclic oligostilbenoid natural product, diptoindonesin G, is described where Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling and intramolecular Friedel-Crafts acylation were employed to construct the central C ring of diptoindonesin G.         Antioxidant and anticancer activity of 3,5-dihydroxy-4-isopropylstilbene produced by Bacillus sp. N strain isolated from entomopathogenic nematode

        3,5-Dihydroxy-4-isopropylstilbene is a naturalphytoalexin and was first identified as bacterial secondarymetabolites. The aim of this study is to investigate in vitroantioxidant and anticancer activity of 3,5-dihydroxy-4-isopropystilbene purified from the cell free culture filtrateof Bacillus sp. N strain associated with rhabditid entomopathogenicnematode. Antioxidant activity was evaluatedby five separate methods: free radical scavenging, reducingpower assay, chelating effects on ferrous ions, NBTsuperoxide radical scavenging assay and hydroxyl radicalscavenging activity. The stilbene recorded powerful antioxidantactivity at various antioxidant systems in vitro. Thesuperoxide radical scavenging (92.1 %) and hydroxylradical scavenging (83.4 %) activities of the stilbenes at100 lg/ml were higher than the butylated hydroxyanisole,the known antioxidant agent. Anticancer activity of stilbenewas tested against breast cancer (MDAM B-231),cervical cancer (HeLa), lung cancer (A 549), colon cancer (HTL 116) cell lines using MTT method. The induction ofapoptosis was studied by morphological analysis, apoptoticcell staining, caspase 3 activation assay and cell cycleanalysis using flow cytometry. Stilbene induced significantmorphological changes and DNA fragmentation associatedwith apoptosis in HeLa cells. Acridine orange/ethidiumbromide stained cells indicated apoptosis induction bystilbene. Up-regulation of caspase 3 activity was also foundin cells treated with stilbene. Flow cytometry analysisshowed an increase in the percentage of apoptotic cells insub G0 phase (2.4 % in control plates to 11.4 %in 25 lg/mlof stilbene) confirming the stilbene induced apoptosis. Theresults of the present study showed that stilbene demonstrateda strong antioxidant and anticancer effects. Thesesuggest that stilbene may be used as possible naturalantioxidant and anticancer agents to control various humandiseases.

      • A Short Preamble-Based Synchronization for QPSK/TDMA Satellite Receiver - Implementation on Multi-core DSP

        This paper demonstrates the implementation of a QPSK/Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) satellite receiver using short preamble-based synchronization in the presence of timing, frequency and phase offsets, and with Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN). The detection and estimation of synchronization parameters of the received signal, i.e., frequency, phase and symbol timing, are highly dependent on the preamble of the burst. Moreover, computational complexity and acquisition time of the receiver are directly proportional to the preamble length. The implemented receiver uses a 64-bit short preamble for synchronization and gives better bit error rate (BER) performance at low signal to noise ratio (SNR), close to -3dB. The functional verification of the synchronization algorithm is done using Matlab simulations and the algorithm implementation uses fixed-point C. The receiver design has been prototyped for 4 TDMA channels in Texas Instruments (TI) multi-core C66x DSP. The design and implementation of this receiver have been done for C-DOT indigenous satellite project.
