        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation of emotional labor, social support, and quality of life among elementary school teacher. Methods: A correlational descriptive design was used with convenience sampling between July and December, 2016. The survey was self reported questionnaire administered to 130 elementary school teachers in the urban area. Data was statistically analyzed using t-test and one way ANOVA. Results: The average score of participants' emotional labor is 2.80, social support 3.89 and quality of life 3.65 of the total of 5. Emotional labor was negatively correlated to social support (r=-.178, p<.05) and quality of life(r=-.438, p<.001). Social support was positively correlated to quality of life (r=.336, p<.001). Conclusion: This study has significance as a basic data to understand the relation of emotional labor, social support, quality of life among elementary school teachers. Also, nursing interventions suitable for elementary school teachers should be developed to decrease the level of emotional labor, strengthen the social support, and enhance their quality of life.

        A SUPER-JUPITER MICROLENS PLANET CHARACTERIZED BY HIGH-CADENCE KMTNET MICROLENSING SURVEY OBSERVATIONS OF OGLE-2015-BLG-0954

        We report the characterization of a massive $(m_p=3.9\pm 1.4 M_{\rm jup})$ microlensing planet (OGLE-2015-BLG-0954Lb) orbiting an M dwarf host ($M=0.33\,\pm 0.12 M_\odot$) at a distance toward the Galactic bulge of $0.6^{+0.4}_{-0.2}\,$kpc, which is extremely nearby by microlensing standards. The planet-host projected separation is $a_\perp \sim 1.2\,\au$. The characterization was made possible by the wide-field ($4\,\rm deg^2$) high cadence ($\Gamma = 6\,\rm hr^{-1}$) monitoring of the Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet), which had two of its three telescopes in commissioning operations at the time of the planetary anomaly. The source crossing time $t_*=16\,$min is among the shortest ever published. The high-cadence, wide-field observations that are the hallmark of KMTNet are the only way to routinely capture such short crossings. High-cadence resolution of short caustic crossings will preferentially lead to mass and distance measurements for the lens. This is because the short crossing time typically implies a nearby lens, which enables the measurement of additional effects (bright lens and/or microlens parallax). When combined with the measured crossing time, these effects can yield planet/host masses and distance.

        health promotion behavior of middle aged men and the relationship among the above factors. Methods: Subjects of the research were 325 middle aged men in Korea. The questionnaires were composed of general characteristics, Health Self Rating Scale, FACES-Ⅲ : Family Adaptability & Cohesion Evaluation Scale Ⅲ, Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile. Data were statistically analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test and Pearson’s correlation. Results: Middle aged men whose perceived economic status are low show lower perceived health status than moderate and high (F=3.364, p=.010). Health promotion behavior in the age 40-44 shows lower level than 60-64 (F=2.984, p=.019). Middle aged men who have Economically dependent adult in the first child show higher level in health promotion behavior than who have Middle & High school student in the first child (F=2.468, p=.045). In the middle aged men, perceived health status and family cohesion show positive correlation (r=.341, p<.01). Perceived health status and health promotion behavior show positive correlation (r=.500, p<.01). Family cohesion and health promotion behavior show posotive correlation (r=.564, p<.01). Conclusions: We analyzed influencing factor and a relationship between perceived health status, family cohesion and health promotion behavior. Accordingly, we can think of applying nursing interventions to the middle aged men considering the general characteristics. Also we can think of applying nursing interventions and educations to help them evaluate their perceived health status and include the support of family members for the health promotion behavior.

      • Antibiotic susceptibility and resistance of Streptococcus iniae and Streptococcus parauberis isolated from olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus)

        The rates of antibiotic susceptibility and resistance were investigated in Streptococcus iniae and Streptococcus parauberis isolates obtained from diseased olive flounders (Paralichthys olivaceus) collected from fish farms in Jeju Island, Korea. Isolates of S. iniae (n=65) were susceptible to cefotaxime, erythromycin, ofloxacin, penicillin, tetracycline and vancomycin, as demonstrated by the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) test. Isolates of S. parauberis (n=86) were highly resistant to erythromycin (58% of the 86 isolates tested) and tetracycline (63% of the 86 isolates tested). Fifty-four isolates of tetracycline-resistant S. parauberis contained the tet(M/O/S) genes, of which 39 and 12 isolates contained the tet(M) and tet(S) genes, respectively, whereas 3 isolates contained both the tet(M) and tet(S) genes. Among the erythromycin-resistant isolates of S. parauberis (n=50) only 14 contained the erm(B) gene. These results suggest that the tet(S) and erm(B) genes of S. parauberis are involved in the acquisition of high-level resistance to erythromycin and tetracycline. Our findings reveal a high rate of antibiotic resistance among strains of S. parauberis and emphasize the need to develop an appropriate vaccine to reduce the use of antibiotics.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to learn about problem-gambling level, depression and stress among female college students. Method: In this cross-sectional design study, a convenient sample of 325 female college students were recruited between September and October, 2014. Measurement used for this study were the CPGI(Canadian Problem Gambling Index), the CES-D(Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale), and the Life stress scale for college students. Data were statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and chi-square test. Result: About 58.5 percent of the participants had experience of gambling; lottery was the most frequently used gambling among participants. 36 participants(11.1%) were problem gamblers. Relationship of smoking status to problem gambler group was statistically significant. There were statistically significant relationships among problem-gambling level(Non-problem, Low-risk, Moderate-risk, High-risk), depression and stress. The problem gambler group had significantly higher trait stress scores compared to the normal group. Conclusion: Problem gambling was a risk factor for both depression and stress among female college students. The proposals of this study are as follows; first, in depth-research are required with more expanded sampling as sample of this study was conveniently gathered, it is hard to generalize the result. Second, a problem gambling prevention program is recommended for low-risk problem gamblers as they have risk to become problem gambler later. Third, nursing interventions for problem gamblers should be investigated with regard to depression and stress level.

      • Renal Protective Effects of Toll-like Receptor 4 Signaling Blockade in Type 2 Diabetic Mice

        <P>Chronic inflammation caused by high glucose and high free fatty acid (FFA) concentrations is a major contributor to the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. Recent evidence suggests that activation of Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling induces peripheral insulin resistance and mediates central insulin and leptin resistance. In this study, we investigated the renal effects of TLR4 signaling blockade in type 2 diabetic mice. Eight-week-old <I>db/db</I> mice were treated for 12 weeks with (S,R)-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-5-isoxasole acetic acid (GIT27), which targets macrophages through the inhibition of TLR4- and TLR2/6-mediated signaling pathways. Although GIT27 treatment improved glycemic control and insulin tolerance, which is associated with a lower lipid profile, it did not impact body weight or food consumption. GIT27 treatment also markedly decreased urinary albumin excretion, decreased proinflammatory cytokine synthesis, improved tissue lipid metabolism, induced oxidative stress, and improved glomerulosclerosis compared with the control <I>db/db</I> group. In cultured podocytes and adipocytes, high glucose levels with FFA stimulation increased TLR4 expression and proinflammatory cytokine synthesis, but the effects were abolished by GIT27 treatment. In addition, knockdown of TLR4 expression by stealth small interfering RNA abolished FFA-induced proinflammatory cytokine synthesis in cultured podocytes. In conclusion, our results suggest that GIT27 treatment improves insulin resistance and protects against the renal injury that occurs in type 2 diabetic nephropathy through both metabolic and antiglomerulosclerotic mechanisms. These results suggest that TLR pathway inhibition might play a direct protective role in diabetic kidney disease.</P>

      • X-ray characterization of CMOS imaging detector with high resolution for fluoroscopic imaging application

        This paper introduces complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) active pixel sensor (APS)-based X-ray imaging detectors with high spatial resolution for medical imaging application. In this study, our proposed X-ray CMOS imaging sensor has been fabricated by using a 0.35@?m 1 Poly 4 Metal CMOS process. The pixel size is 100@?mx100@?m and the pixel array format is 24x96 pixels, which provide a field-of-view (FOV) of 9.6mmx2.4mm. The 14.3-bit extend counting analog-to digital converter (ADC) with built-in binning mode was used to reduce the area and simultaneously improve the image resolution. Both thallium-doped CsI (CsI:Tl) and Gd<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>S:Tb scintillator screens were used as converters for incident X-rays to visible light photons. The optical property and X-ray imaging characterization such as X-ray to light response as a function of incident X-ray exposure dose, spatial resolution and X-ray images of objects were measured under different X-ray energy conditions. The measured results suggest that our developed CMOS-based X-ray imaging detector has the potential for fluoroscopic imaging and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging applications.

      • Structural and electrical properties of polycrystalline CdTe films for direct X-ray imaging detectors

        We introduce polycrystalline cadmium telluride (CdTe) with high atomic number and density, low effective energy and wide band gap for application in large area diagnostic X-ray digital imaging. In this work, polycrystalline CdTe films were fabricated on ITO/glass substrate by both physical vapor deposition (PVD) with slow deposition rate and pressure of 10<SUP>-6</SUP>Torr and the closed space sublimation (CSS) method with high deposition rate and low vacuum pressure(10<SUP>-2</SUP>Torr). The various polycrystalline CdTe films were grown at different deposition rates and substrate temperatures. Physical properties such as microstructures and the crystal structure of the polycrystalline samples were investigated by SEM and XRD patterns respectively. The PVD method resulted in microstructures with columnar shape and more uniform surface, while the CSS method produced microstructures with many larger grains and less uniform surface. The films were polycrystalline structures with a preferential (111) direction. The electrical and optical properties such as the dark current as a function of applied bias voltage and X-ray sensitivity of the fabricated films were measured and investigated under X-ray exposure.

        Spectroscopic study of the radionuclide Na21 for the astrophysical F17(α,p)Ne20 reaction rate

        <P>The Mg-24(p,alpha)Na-21 reaction was measured at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory to study the spectroscopy of the radionuclide Na-21. A 31-MeV proton beam from the 25 MV tandem accelerator bombarded isotopically enriched Mg-24 targets. Recoiling He-4 particles were identified by an annular silicon strip detector array. Two energy levels at E-x = 6.594 and 7.132 MeV were observed for the first time. By comparing the experimentally obtained angular distributions and distorted wave Born approximation calculations, the spins and parities of Na-21 energy levels were constrained. The astrophysicallyi-mportant F-17(alpha, p)Ne-20 reaction rate was also calculated for the first time using resonance parameters for 12 energy levels.</P>
