The effects of alkali promoters namely potassium, copper, and manganese, on the performance of the bi-functional iron–low acidity ZSM-5 catalysts in the Fischer–Tropsch (FT) synthesis were studied. ZSM-5 with very high silica alumina ratio (SAR) of 280 was used to take advantage of its shape selectivity and suppressing the effect of alkali migration on zeolite cation exchange sites. One bi-functional iron base catalyst (FeZ), three single promoted (KFeZ, CuFeZ, MnFeZ) and four multiple promoted (CuKFeZ, CuMnFeZ, KMnFeZ, CuKMnFeZ) catalysts were synthesized by the incipient to wetness impregnation method. They were characterized by XRD, BET, TPR, TEM and TPD analyses methods and tested for their FT synthesis activities. Promoters had considerable impacts on the compositions and the hydrocarbon distributions of the FT synthesis products. Addition of promoters resulted in an increase of up to 8.5–56% and 20–743% in the synthesis of gasoline and diesel range hydrocarbons, respectively. Consequently, the production of the total liquid fuel (gasoline + diesel) also increased from 48% (base catalyst) to 64–79% (promoted catalysts). The highest gasoline range hydrocarbon production was obtained from MnFeZ and CuKMnFeZ (≈70%) while CuKMnFeZ produced a FT product having the highest total liquid fuel (≈79%).

Friction stir welding is commonly used to join metals because it is environmentally friendly and provides higher fatigue strength than electric resistance spot welding, riveted connections, and screw connections. Alternative methods that do not reduce the fatigue strength, such as friction stir spot welding (FSSW), are being investigated. However, several studies have proven that FSSW joints are not sufficiently qualified for industrial usage. Defects such as keyholes, cavities, and cracks that form during classic FSSW with a screw stirring tool have not yet been eliminated. Some studies have demonstrated that the geometry of the stirring tool and the shoulder profile affect the quality of the joint. In this study, five pinless stirring tools with different shoulder profiles were designed to avoid the formation of cavities and cracks. The effect of the stirring tool on the mechanical properties and macro- and microstructural material properties during the joining process were examined.

Objective: We investigated the effects of duloxetine on the plasma levels of catecholamine metabolites and serum brain-derivedneurotrophic factor (BDNF) in 64 patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). Methods: Major depressive episode was diagnosed using the Structured Clinical Interview for the Diagnostic and StatisticalManual of Mental Disorders-fourth edition (DSM-IV) according to the DSM-IV text revision (DSM-IV-TR) criteria. The severityof depression was evaluated using the 17-item Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD-17). Blood sampling and clinicalevaluation were performed on days 0, 28, and 56. Results: Duloxetine treatment for 8 weeks significantly increased the plasma 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol (MHPG) levelsbut not the homovanillic acid (HVA) levels in responders with MDD. Conclusion: These results imply that noradrenaline plays an important role in alleviating depressive symptoms.

Electromagnetic shielding has a very emerging role in the textile applications. Screen-printing is a well-known, easy and cost effective process for textile printing. In this study, carbon black and graphite particles were used to impart electromagnetic shielding property to polyester fabric by screen printing technique. To this aim, printing pastes containing carbon materials were prepared with different binder concentrations. The electrical resistance, surface morphology, colorcoordinates and washing fastness properties of screen printed polyester fabrics were investigated. The washing durability of electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of carbon based printed fabrics as a function of binder concentration have also been studied. Electromagnetic shielding effectiveness was evaluated in the frequency ranges between 15-3000 MHz. The resultsshowed that the electromagnetic shielding properties of fabric were affected by increased binder concentration. The most durable electromagnetic shielding effectiveness after washing process was obtained at highest binder concentration. The surface morphologies and color difference values of printed fabrics after washing process also provided a positive contribution.

Lipoleiomyoma is a very rare tumor which is composed of adipocytes and smooth muscle cells. It is most commonly located in uterine corpus although cervical, ovarian, and retroperitoneal locations were also reported. Lipoleiomyoma located in broad ligament is extremely uncommon and only five cases were reported to date. Here, we report the sixth case of lipoleiomyoma of broad ligament which was diagnosed in a postmenopausal woman who was subjected to exploratory laparotomy with a preoperative diagnosis of a solid adnexal mass suggesting an ovarian malignancy.
Disorder in the Cubic Phase of PbHfO3 by High Energy Synchrotron Radiation Diffraction

The electron charge density distributions of PbHfO3 in the cubic phase have been investigated in association with the antiferroelectric phase transition, by analyzing high-energy synchrotronradiation powder diraction data by the maximum entropy method (MEM)/Rietveld method. The Pb atom is found to be ionic and disordered in the h100i direction. Clear covalency is observed on the Hf-O bonding. The charge density distributions around the O atom are extremely anisotropic, and are extended in the directions perpendicular to the Hf-O covalent bond. These structural characteristics are observed both at 500 K near Tc (= 476 K) and at 700 K far above Tc.

The structural phase transition and behavior of the 2 3 phonon branch of Rb2SeO4 have been investigated with the use of heat capacity measurement and X-ray and neutron scattering technique. No phase transition was detected down to 2 K, both in thermal analysis and in neutron elastic scattering. However, neutron inelastic scattering showed a slight softening of the phonon excitation frequency below 100 K. Two typical trst-order-type anomalies due to the phase I - phase II transition and melting were observed at 821 K and 1233 K, respectively. The entropy change for the phase I - phase II transition was determined as 12.46 Jmol1K1.

Electron charge density distributions of PbHfO3 in the antiferroelectric phase with an orthorhombic structure have been revealed by analyzing the high-energy synchrotron-radiation powder diffraction data using the maximum entropy method/Rietveld method. The covalent bonding natures of both the Pb-O and Hf-O bonds are clearly visualized at 100 K. The formation of Pb-O electron orbital hybridization is a new finding which characterizes the antiferroelectric phase, whereas Pb is ionic in the paraelectric phase with a cubic structure.
