Radio frequency coil which is capable of transmit and receive the signal has been used for image production in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Tuning and matching characteristic of radio frequency coil is major factor determining the image quality. In experiment the used coil was called a staircase type coil which is simplified the birdcage coil and referred to a simple LC resonant circuit. Because the inductance values of the coils are fixed coil performance was examined by changing of the capacitance values. In this study capacitance values were experimentally determined to increase of-tuning and matching effect in junction of the coil between coil endring and BNC cable to obtain the high quality of image.

Toxic oxygen free radicals have been implicated as important pathologic mediators in many clinical disordesrs. Enhandng the intracellular content of antioxidant enzymes can provide means of limiting biological damage caused by oxygen free radicals. Many investigations have examined the potential of various oxyradical scavengers to modulate oxyradical injury. The oxygen free radicals play a role in the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. To investigate the pulmonary oxyradical injury and the protective role of antioxidant enzymes, author measured the amount of thiobarbituric acid reactants, the activiteies of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and catalase) and the sulfhydryl groups in serum and red blood cells from the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease groups and the normal controls. The thiobarbituric acid reactant in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease groups was increased than the controls in both serum and red blood cells, and the superoxide dismutase activity in red blood cells was no statistically difference in both groups. But, the glutathione peroxidase and catalase activities were lowered in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease groups than the controls. The sulfhydryl groups in serum and red blood cells were no statistically difference in both groups. These results suggest that the increased thiobarbituric acid reactant in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease groups mean oxygen radical toxicity, and the decreased glutathione peroxidase and catalase activities may play a role in cellular injury.

A study on predicting the joint strength of mechanically fastened woven glass/epoxy composite has been performed. An experimental and numerical study were carried out to determine the characteristic length and joint strength of composite joint. The characteristic lengths for tension and compression were determined from the tensile and compressive test with a hole respectively. The characteristic lengths were evaluated by applying the point stress failure criterion to a specimen containing a hole at the center subjected to tensile loading and a specimen containing a half circular notch at the center subjected to compressive load. The joint strength was evaluated by the Tsai-Wu and Yamada-Sun failure criterion on the characteristic curve. The predicted results of the joint strength were compared with experimental results.
Browser-embeded 모델에서의 연속분포HMM 음성인식

In this paper, we discuss on an implement issue a speech recognition system based on the continuous distribution HMM(Hidden Markov Model) and Browser- embeded model. The structure of Browser-embeded model is developed for the speech analysis, processing and recognition flow on the Web. Client sends the speech information which is made by end-point detection of speech and estimation of MFCC(Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient) using java applets to a server through sockets. A server sends text of speech recognition using the continuous distribution HMM and trained database to client over the Internet. In consequence, the recognized text back is displayed in the client system.
김치로부터 분리한 Pediococcus halophilus에 의한 α-Glucosidase의 생산

Six strains able to efficiently produce α-glucosidase were isolated from kimchi by enrichment culture in APT medium. Among them, Strain No.2 was found to have levels of α-glucosidase activity. The morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics of the strain No.2 were studied according to the methods of Bergey's manual. Based on the results obtained in these experiments, Stain No.2 was identified to be a similar species to Pediococcus halophilus. The optima conditions for α-glucosidase production were cultured 0.5% starch, 0.4% yeast extract, 0.4% trypticase peptone, initial pH 7.5 at 37℃ and 24 hours cultivation.

Ethical decisions are often situational or issue-related. Jones(1991) has proposed an issue-contingent model of ethical decision making by individuals in organizations. The distinguishing feature of the issue was identified as its moral intensity, which determines the moral imperative in the situation. In this study, first, we proposed the dimensions of moral intensity through research review and tested the dimensions of moral intensity that proposed by us and second, we tested the effects of the moral intensity on ethical decision making intent. A scenario-based study, conducted among IT·IS specialist in Korea, revealed that Jones' six dimensions of moral intensity is actually composed two dimensions (magnitude of effect and social pressure) and perceived these two dimensions influenced the ethical decision making intent.

Author investigated the density and dosage with various thickness of acryl phantom, field size and X-ray tube voltage. The obtained results can be summerized as follows : 1. The effect of density was much as applied voltage was lower, the thickness of object was thicker. 2. The variety of density by the variety of field size was nearly constant when the applied voltage and the thickness of Object was constant. 3, The transmission dose was much decreased when the applied voltage was higher, the thickness of Object was increased. Therefore it is thought that we needed to consider the applied voltage and objects if we make film density and n-value proper.

본 연구에서는 반복적인 세탁이 쾌적성과 관련된 직물의 구조에 상당한 영향을 준다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 세탁전과 세탁후의 직물의 물리적 특성과 역학특성을 비교하였다. 세탁의 가장 큰 효과는 직물의 부드러움을 결정하는 특성과의 관련성이다. 세탁을 하였을 때 본 연구에 사용되어진 노멕스 직물의 촉감이 일반 방염 직물보다 더 향상된 것을 알 수 있었다. 전단과 굽힘 강성에 있어서는 커다란 감소가 일어났고, 신장성은 증가되었다. 본 연구에 사용되어진 노멕스 직물의 이런 촉감의 차이는 여러 가지 상호 관련된 역학특성의 변화와 관련되어진다. This research shows that repeated washing significantly affects fabric structure related to comfort. The physical and mechanical properties of fabrics before washing and after washing were compared. The most profound effects of washing are related to properties that determine fabric softness. Laundering benefited the Nomex test fabrics more than it did the general flame resistant fabrics in tactile comfort improvement. Dramatic decreases in shear and bending rigidity and increases in extensibility were observed. These tactile comfort differences in the Nomex test fabrics are linked to several interrelated changes of mechanical properties.
