웨지우드(Wedgwood)社의 아티스트 협업 디자인 분석- 키스 머레이, 베라 왕, 바바라 베리를 중심으로 -

This paper aims to analyze the expressive design characteristics of each famous artist through the collaborative products with the British traditional pottery brand, Wedgwood company. Wedgwood has developed as a master pottery aiming for the upper class of Britain, based on the Neo-classism styled identity and various unique technical development of Wedgwood such as Jasper, Cream ware and Bone China. In modern times, with its luxurious pattern design through transferring techniques, Wedgwood is widely loved by people around the world. In 1930, when Art deco style was trending, Wedgwood formed collaborations with Keith Murray, a designer with architectural taste, to emphasize geometric configuration in the single color expression and three-dimensional structure, representing a brand new approach of Wedgwood. Since 2000s, the cooperation with the products of the fashion designer Vera Wang show her subtle and elegant design philosophy with decorative patterns of Rococo style and dimensional expressions, reflecting preferences of contemporary ladies. Besides, Barbara Barry broadened modern design expressions using repetitive and simple patterns through the interior material symbolic design. This research is to indicate the importance of cooperation throughout Wedgwood, where it actively utilized various artists based on trends, and to bring out qualitative analysis from the synergy effect of such cooperation. 본 연구는 영국의 대표적인 산업 도자기 브랜드 웨지우드(Wedgwood)社와 유명한 아티스트들이 협업하여 제작한 제품을 통해 각 아티스트 별로 나타난 디자인의 표현적 특성을 분석하는 데에 목적이 있다. 웨지우드는 자스퍼(Jasper)와 크림웨어(Cream ware), 본차이나(Bone China) 등 웨지우드만의 다양한 기술적 개발과 신고전주의 양식의 정체성에 기반하여 영국의 상류 사회를 겨냥한 명품 도자기로 발전하였고 현대에는 주로 전사기법을 통한 고급스러운 패턴 디자인으로 전 세계인들에게 사랑받고 있다. 웨지우드는 1930년대 아르데코 양식이 유행한 시기에 건축적인 작업 성향을 지닌 키스 머레이와의 협업으로 입체적인 표면구조와 형태성을 강조하여 웨지우드의 새로운 시도를 나타냈다. 2000년대 이후 의상 디자이너 베라 왕과의 협업을 통한 제품은 로코코 양식의 장식적인 패턴과 입체적인 형태 표현으로 여성들의 선호도를 고려하여 정교하면서도 단아한 그의 디자인 철학을 담아내고 있으며 바바라 베리는 인테리어 소재를 주제화한 상징적인 전사 디자인을 통해 반복적인 패턴을 이용하여 간결하면서도 현대적인 구성의 표현 방식을 넓혔다. 본 연구는 시대적 흐름과 아티스트와의 협업을 적극 활용하는 웨지우드의 사례를 통해 협업이 기업에 미친 영향에 근거하여 협업의 중요성을 나타내고 이로 인해 제고되는 시너지 효과의 정성적인 분석을 도출하고자 한다.
다양한 액상 수위/부피 조건에서의 300kHz 초음파 캐비테이션 산화반응 분석 연구

In this study, the effect of liquid height/volume on sonochemical oxidation reactions was investigated in 300 kHz sonoreactors. The gas mixture of Ar/O<sub>2</sub> (50:50) was applied in two modes including saturation and sparging, and zero-order reaction (KI dosimetry) and first-order reaction (Bisphenol A (BPA) degradation) were used to quantitatively analyze sonochemical oxidation reactions. For the zero-order reaction, the highest sonochemical oxidation activity was obtained for the liquid height of 5𝛌, and the lowest height for both the gas saturation and sparging conditions. In addition, the sparging did not enhance the sonochemical oxidation activity for all height conditions except for 50𝛌, where very low activity was obtained. It was found that in sonochemiluminescence (SCL) images the sonochemical active zone was formed adjacent to the liquid surface for the gas sparging condition due to the formation of the standing wave field while the active zone was formed adjacent to the transducer at the bottom due to the blockage of ultrasound. For the first-order reaction, the highest activity was also obtained at 5𝛌 and the comparison based on the reactant mass was not appropriate because the concentration of the reactant (BPA) decreased significantly as the reaction time elapsed. Consequently, it was revealed that the determination of optimal liquid height (ultrasound irradiation distance) based on the wavelength of the applied ultrasound frequency was very important for the optimal design of sonoreactors in terms of reaction efficiency and reactor size.
