비정규분포를 이용한 표본선택 모형 추정: 자동차 보유와 유지비용에 관한 실증분석

표본선택 모형을 최우추정법으로 추정할 때 오차항의 분포를 제대로 가정하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 표본선택 모형의 선택 방정식과 본 방정식의 오차항 분포를 일반적으로 이변량 정규분포로 가정하지만, 이 가정이 오차항의 실제 분포를 과도하게 제약할 가능성이 있다. 본 연구는 표본선택 모형의 오차항 분포로 $S_U$-정규분포를 도입한다. $S_U$-정규분포는 분포의 비대칭성과 초과첨도를 허용한다는 측면에서 정규분포보다 훨씬 유연하면서, 동시에 정규분포를 극한분포의 형태로 포함하고 있다. 또한 정규분포처럼 다변량 분포함수가 존재하기 때문에 표본선택 모형과 같은 다변량 모형에서도 활용할 수 있다. 본 논문은 $S_U$-정규분포를 이용한 표본선택 모형에서 로그우도 함수와 조건부 기댓값을 도출하고, 시뮬레이션을 통해 정규분포 모형과 추정성과를 비교한다. 또한 자동차 보유 가구들의 자동차 유지비에 관한 실제 데이터를 이용하여 $S_U$-정규분포 표본선택 모형의 추정결과를 제시한다. In a parametric sample selection model, the distribution assumption is critical to obtain consistent estimates. Conventionally, the normality assumption has been adopted for both error terms in selection and main equations of the model. The normality assumption, however, may excessively restrict the true underlying distribution of the model. This study introduces the $S_U$-normal distribution into the error distribution of a sample selection model. The $S_U$-normal distribution can accommodate a wide range of skewness and kurtosis compared to the normal distribution. It also includes the normal distribution as a limiting distribution. Moreover, the $S_U$-normal distribution can be easily extended to multivariate dimensions. We provide the log-likelihood function and expected value formula based on a bivariate $S_U$-normal distribution in a sample selection model. The results of simulations indicate the $S_U$-normal model outperforms the normal model for the consistency of estimators. As an empirical application, we provide the sample selection model for car ownership and a car expense relationship.

Enteric duplications are rare congenital anomalies. These are eharacterized by finn attachment to at least one point of the alirnentary tract and a well-developed coat of smooth muscle, and the epithelial lining always resembles some part of the alinentaty tract. Stomach is the least frequent location for these anomalies. The vast majority of patients with gastric duplication presented in infancy have an abdominal mass causing pain, upper gastrointestinal obstruetion, and failure to thrive. However, some cases have not been diagnosed until later in childhood. To date, fewer than 20 eases of gastric duplication have been diagnosed in adults. The present case is a 51 year-old male presenting with mild upper abdominal discomfort for a few years. A gastroscopy revealed an about 1.5 * 1.5 cm sized round protruding rnass with smooth surface of normal mucosa at the lesser curvature of gastric antrum, which was removed by surgical operation. Postoperative pathologic examination disclosed a gastric duplication which was a muscle-coated, cystic and tubular structure invested with a common musculature on gross finding, and was lined with a gastric mucosa on microscopie finding. V. fluvialis는 해양 및 담수 서식 세균으로서 드물게 인체에서 위장감염을 일으킨다. 현재까지 외국에서 보고된 예는 있으나 국내에 보고된 예는 없었다. 저자들은 여름철에 조개(고막)를 먹은 후 심한 복통과 설사 및 탈수증 등의 증상이 1주일간 지속된 55세의 간경변 남자 환자에서 대변배양 검사상 확진된 V. fluvialis에 의한 위장관염 1예를 적극적인 항생제 치료를 하였으나, 간경변 합병증으로 사망한 증례를 경험하였기에 이에 보고하는 바이다. V. fluvialis is a gram-negative, oxidase-producing, halophilic bacterium. It is normally found in coastal waters and seafoods. There have been a few reports on Vibrio fluvialis gastroenteritis in other countries, whereas as there has been no previous report of V. fluvialis infections in Korea. Reports from other countries showed that V. fluvialis was isolated mostly from infants and children. We experienced a race case of gastroenteritis due to V. fluvialis in a 55-year-old man with liver cirrhosis who ate an ark shell. He was admitted due to mild abdominal pain and severe watery diarrhea followed by rapidly progressive dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and hepatorenal syndrome for a week. This patient was not improved by intensive care and antibiotic therapy.
