From March 1992 to September 1995, we had treated thirty patients with high-tension electrical burns in lower extremities. High-tension electrical injury in extremity had difficult problems on wound management, and it may resulted in destruction of the underlying deep structures. Because lower extremity which is responsible for weight bearing plays an important part of the body, the wound management and reconstruction should be carefully considered in many ways. After clinically analysis of the patients and the reconstructive methods, following results are obtained. 1. The defects on output site are usually located at weight bearing or contact areas around feet and knees. 2. About half of lesions in feet or knees finally result in osteomyelitis. 3. The wounds progress to around area and local flaps are frequently not available. Adequate free flap transfer provides most reliable method for the management of the difficult wound. 4. At the time of free flap reconstruction, thorough inspection and sufficient dissection should be applied, because the recipient vessels and connective tissues borded on the wounds had wide spreaded fibrosis.
미세모발이식법을 이용한 남성형 탈모증의 치료 : 64례의 경험

Male pattern baldness is the most common form of the hair loss in both sexes. Various methods have been applied for treatment of male pattern baldness such as scalp reduction, scalp flaps and composite hair trans plantation, etc. Generally, the most important and difficult point of hair reconstruction would be the achievement of natural frontal hair lines. In order to solve the problems of unnatural frontal hair line that cannot fulfill aesthetic desires of patients, we have treated 64 cases of male pattern baldness with using hair transplantation techniques of minigraft an micrograft. In all cases the patients were treated by mixed method of minigraft and micrograft. The graft was done with 2 or 3 sessions and the each sessions had 6 month interval. With these micrograft and minigraft techniques, it was possible to produce a natural-looking, soft frontal hair line, hiding an unnatural-looking, dense hair line that starts abruptly with coarse hairs. It was also possible to hide disturbing visible scarring or cobble stoning of the foremost punch grafts. We treated 64 cases of male pattern baldness by using hair transplantation technique and we had excellent result for the treatment of male pattern baldness by using the minigrafting and micrografting techniques.

In this study, mortar strength was measured by grinding oyster shell and changing the particle size distribution. For the experiment, the oyster shells were processed to a fine aggregate size of 10㎜ or less. In this experiment, seven particle size distribution conditions were selected and tested. Because oyster shells are different in density from sand, their volume ratios were calculated and converted to mass ratios of 1: 3. The strength test was carried out one day after the steam curing.

Cleft lip is one of the common congenital anomalies. Therefore many operation techiques has been reported and result were evaluated. But, though above development, in wide lip cleft or malaligned alveolar arch, there is still some difficulty in achieving good cosmetic results because of tension on repair site and tissue deficiency. This study was designed for evaluation and solution of these problems by lip adhesion and presurgical orthopedic treatment which are widely employed by many surgeons. One hundred and fifty five complete cleft lip cases admitted and operated by authors from Mar. 1991 to Sep. 1993 and were analyzed. Among these 153 cases, 81 cases had more than 10mm distance of cleft and this study was done on these 81 cases of only wide cleft. For comparison and their results, following groups were divided. Group A : 17 cases, who had more than 10mm lip cleft distence without alveolar arch discrepancy or less than 3mm discrepancy, were treated by lip adhesion at 2 to 4 weeks. After 2 to 3 months, final lip surgery was done. Group B : 51 cases, who had more than 10mm lip cleft with more than 3mm alveolar arch discrepancy, had presurgical orthopedic treatment around 2 weeks by dental orthopedic appliance and after 2-3 months, final lip surgery was done. Group C : 11 cases, who had more than 10mm wide lip cleft with or without alveolar arch discrepancy, had lip surgery directly due to loss of optimal time for above lip adhesion or presurgical orthopedic treatment. As a result, Group A and B had good cosmetic results compare to Group C. And group C had some postoperative complications(2 cases : maxillary lesser segment collapsed, 1 case : wound disruption). Two cases, who had more than 10mm lip cleft and more than 3mm alveolar arch discrepancy which was designated good candidated for presurgical orthopedic treatment, were treated by lip adhesion at 4 weeks due to economic status and showed relatively good cosmetic results and narrowing alveolar cleft compare to Group C. We could derive the following conclusions for wide lip cleft(more than 10mm) 1. When alveolar arch is well alined horizontally, lip adhesion is satisfactory method 2. Then alveolar arch is malaligned, presurgical orthopedic treatment is required to prevent postoperative maxillary collapse. 3. When no qualified orthodontist or in poor economic status, lip adhesion may be alternate method though not satisfactory to combat maxillary collapse.

The oyster shell is lightweight and exhibits strength characteristics similar to sand. In this study, mortar specimens were fabricated by crushing them and processed to 5mm or less of the fine aggregate standard, and examined the fire resistance of the mortar according to changes in particle size distribution. In this experiment, seven particle size distribution conditions were tested. In addition, the mixing ratio was fixed at 1: 3, and the experiment was conducted in terms of the volume ratio because the densities of sand and oyster shells were different.

A driver uses a steering wheel, a gas pedal, and a brake pedal to control a vehicle. In order to make a turn, steering torque (or angle) is applied to a steering wheel. Steering torque (or angle) is transferred to a tire through a steering system and a front suspension system. Force and moment are generated at the contact patch between tire and ground. Inversely, the force and the moment are transferred back to a driver in the form of reactive force and moment. During a turn, a driver experiences (or feels) the response of a steering system and a vehicle to steering input simultaneously. Generally, steering performance is subjectively evaluated based on a driver’s steering feeling. Recently, almost every steering system is MDPS (Motor Driven Power Steering) system. MDPS system is controlled by MDPS control logic according to steering input and vehicle condition. Therefore, there are so many design (hardware) and control (software) parameters in a comprehensive steering system. In order to improve and optimize steering performance, it is needed to understand steering system fundamentally and to determine design and control parameters systematically. The purpose of this research is divided into three things. The first is to develop an integrated steering system model to predict steering performance. The second is to analyze and quantify the influence of design and control parameters. The last thing is to develop a systematic target cascading process to achieve target steering performance.
