Objective : The purpose of this study is to estimate the effects of spiral taping treatment on temporomandibular disorder. Methods : 22 temporomandibular disorder patients were treated with spiral taping, and no other treatments such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, herbal acupuncture, and chiropractic therapy were added. We evaluated the improvement by temporomandibular pain and mouth opening range. Results : 11 patients felt no pain or inconvenience of daily life and 4 patients showed improvement of pain or symptom after 1 month of spiral taping theraphy. 3 patients had normal opening size of mouth and convenience of daily life, and 2 patient showed improvement of opening size of mouth as 35mm-40mm after 1 month of spiral taping theraphy. Conclusion : These results suggest spiral taping treatments contribute to the improvement of temporomandibular disorders. Further study is needed for the confirmation of this effect of spiral taping treatments on temporomandibular disorders.
이중코일을 이용한 자기유도 무선충전 코일의 자유도 개선

무선충전은 전선 없이 전자기기를 충전할 수 있다는 사용자의 편의적인 측면에 장점이 커 활발히 연구개발되고 널리보급되었다. 하지만 무선충전패드에서 수신기의 중심이 어긋날 경우에 충전이 되지 않아 수신기의 중심을 잘 맞춰야한다는 점은 사용자의 편의성이라는 무선충전의 효용성을 크게 저감시킨다. 본 논문은 이러한 무선충전의 한계를 극복하고자 수신기의 위치 자유도를 향상시키기 위한 코일 설계를 진행하였다. Tx 코일이 Rx 코일과 사이즈가 비슷할 때보다 외경 크기가 클 때 중심에서 효율은 다소 저하되었지만, 중심이 어긋날 경우의 효율이 개선되어 Rx 코일의 위치 자유도가 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 이 때, Tx 코일에 내측 코일이 추가로 구성된 이중코일 구조를 제안하여 효율을 추가적으로향상시킬 수 있었다. 자유도 개선 결과를 시뮬레이션과 측정을 통해 효율을 확인하였고, 경향성이 일치함을 볼 수 있었다. 측정 결과, 105~210 kHz 동작 주파수에서 송수신 코일의 전송거리 3 mm, 오정렬 15 mm일 때, 수신 코일에 전류가1A 흐를 때 기준으로 기존 Tx 코일의 전송 효율은 37 %, 외경 크기를 키운 코일의 효율은 45 %, 내측 코일을 추가한이중 코일은 47 %로 효율이 향상되었다.
무선전력전송용 스위치가 장착된 직교루프 전방향 빔조향 공진기

본 논문에서는 무선전력전송용 전 방향 빔 조향 직교 공진기를 제안하였다. 전 방향 빔 조향 직교 공진기는 2개의 루프를 수직으로 교차하여 이들의 연결 관계를 스위치로 제어하는 방식이다. 스위치의 연결 방식에 따라 루프에 흐르는 전류의 방향이 결정되고, 그에 따라 빔 조향 방향이 결정된다. 수직으로 교차한 공진기의 전류와 그에 따라 형성되는 자기장의 벡터 합의 원리를 이용하여 대각선 방향으로의 빔 조향을 실현하였다. 4개의 스위치 mode를 통해서 총 8개 방향으로 빔 조향이 가능하다. 적합한 스위치 mode를 사용하여 전 방향에 대한 전송 효율을 구하면 시뮬레이션과 측정 결과가 각각 56.3~60.0 %(편차 3.7 %), 41.2~48.7 %(편차 7.5 %)으로 비교적 전 방향에 대해 균일한 전송 효율을 얻을 수 있다. This paper presents an omnidirectionally beam-steerable orthogonal loop resonator for wireless power transfer. The resonator is composed of two orthogonal loops. These connections of two loops and the current direction on the loops are determined by the control of switch. The magnetic field direction is determined by the vector sum of each loop current. The beam is steerable to eight directions by four switch modes. Using the suitable switch mode, the simulation and measurement efficiencies in the whole azimuthal direction are 56.3~60.0 %(deviation 3.7 %) and 41.2~ 48.7 %(deviation 7.5 %), respectively. The results show a little variation of transmission efficiency in the azimuthal direction.
담수어와 해수어의 수온 스트레스에 의한 Heat Shock Factor 1 (HSF1)의 삼량체 조절 인자 분석

This study evaluated the trimerization mechanism and structure of heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) in humans, goldfish, and walleye pollock at various temperatures. Humans, goldfish, and pollock are representatives of mammals, freshwater fish, and saltwater fish, respectively. First, walleye pollack HSF1, which has not been reported, was used as a Rapid Amplification of cDNA Ends (RACE)-PCR strategy. And then, Humans, goldfish, and walleye pollock contain cysteine (C), tyrosine (Y), and phenylalanine (F) at residue 103. Also, the trimer generation temperature of each species was found to be 42, 37, and 20 °C, respectively. However, when residue 103 was mutated by alanine(A), the trimer was not generated at all species. These results indicate that the temperature and mechanism of forming HSF1 trimer depending on the amino acid residue and their living environment. Therefore, HSF1 can be considered as important indicator for water temperature stress in freshwater and seawater fish.
수온 스트레스에 의한 명태의 Heat Shock Factor 1의 분자생물학적 특성과 Heat Shock Protein 70의 단백질 발현 패턴

This study evaluated the levels of mRNA expression of HSF1 and HSP70 expression patterns in walleye pollock, Gasus chalcogrammus according to water temperature. Walleye pollack HSF1, which has not been reported, was used as a Rapid Amplification of cDNA Ends (RACE)-PCR strategy. The HSF1 amino acid sequence of walleye pollack showed 93% identification with the Atlantic cod. On the other hand, it showed relatively low identification with 50% in zebrafish. However, in the phylogenetic analysis, fish HSF1 formed a single clade group. The relative mRNA expression of HSF1 in the liver, intestine, gill, kidney, and heart of juveniles and immatures was investigated. The tissues in juvenile and immature, HSF1 mRNA expression was the highest at 14℃, and HSF1 mRNA levels increased significantly from 11℃ compared to 5 and 8℃. The mRNA levels of HSF1 were particularly high in the gill both juveniles and immatures. The expression of HSP70 was also evident in 11℃ and 14℃. These results indicate that water temperature of 11°C or higher is exposed to stressed-condition in walleye pollock. Therefore, HSF1 and HSP70 can be considered as important indicator for water temperature stress in walleye pollock.
단백질 정량 발색반응에 미치는 Zinc Protoporphyrin의 영향

The Bradford and bicinchoninic acid (BCA) assays are commonly-used colorimetric methods for quantifying amount of proteins. In the present study, effects of zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP) on color responses of these assay methods were investigated. ZnPP and zinc did not affect the color response of Coomassie brilliant blue dye in the Bradford assay. ZnPP, however, reacted with the BCA reagent and increased the color intensity in the BCA method concentration-dependently. In the current assay system, the color response by 20 µM of ZnPP was comparable to that of ~50 µg/mL of standard protein of bovine serum albumin. Zinc did not affect the BCA assay either. Color intensity of the BCA method was also enhanced in the cell lysates containing ZnPP. The present results indicate that various factors could affect the color response of protein assays, and ZnPP is one of the interfering factors in the BCA method, which is considered carefully in related studies.

Most inflammatory disorders are usually treated using anti-inflammatory drugs including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) and steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (SAID). In a prolonged use, however, they may frequently produce adverse side-effects. Thus, it is necessarily required to develop a new anti-inflammatory drug with little side-effects. Nephrite has been widely used by traditional oriental medicine to cure the various chronic diseases. In order to verify the anti-inflammatory activity of nephrite, the TPA (12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-acetate) or the croton oil-induced edema was developed in the mouse ears and the nephrite powder suspension or the nephrite water was directly applied to the ear edema. It was found that nephrite could significantly reduce the ear swelling implying its strong potential as an active anti-inflammatory agent when comparing to indomethacin, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
Curcumin과 Protoporphyrin류 화합물의 상호작용에 의한 형광특성 변화

Curcumin, a dietary polyphenol from Curcuma longa L., has been reported to show many beneficial bioactivities. Protoporphyrins are widely distributed in various natural sources. They are also intermediates in the endogenous synthesis of heme and commonly form a complex with metal ions. In the present study, we investigated changes in fluorescence properties of curcumin and protoporphyrin IX (PPIX) through their interactions. Fluorescence intensity of curcumin increased concentration-dependently showing a peak emission at 535 nm with an excitation at 440 nm. Curcumin fluorescence was not changed by PPIX; the fluorescence intensity of PPIX significantly decreased in the presence of curcumin. Curcumin fluorescence decreased time-dependently; the fluorescence from PPIX was rather enhanced according to time, which was less pronounced in the presence of curcumin. Curcumin fluorescence in cells decreased markedly, which is slightly enhanced by co-treatment of PPIX. Curcumin fluorescence also decreased by zinc protoporphyrin; the fluorescence from ZnPP was also quenched by curcumin. The present results suggest a possible interaction of metal porphyrins with curcumin, which may influence on their bioactivities.
