We suggest a design method for reducing the number of spot welds in the vehicle body in terms of durability. To reduce the number of spot welds, we use the DOE(Design of Experiments) analysis with two influence indices for the durability and the fatigue life of a spot weld itself. Through the suggested design method, we select spot welds that could be removed without serious reduction of durability of the whole model. We apply this new methodology to the BIW(Body In White) model of a vehicle by choosing some practical parts where durability-related point of view must be considered importantly by experience.
초등 과학과 환경 수업에 활용 가능한 안드로이드 기반 "ECO" 어플리케이션의 개발과 적용

The sixth grade is the stage to which basic concepts of environment including ecosystem are introduced intensively in the environmental education of elementary school. Thus, various instrumental methods to develop the understanding for constitution and interaction of ecosystem, decision making, problem-solving and sustainable development are in demand. This research intended to design and implement a smart educational application which can be utilized in teaching the unit of ‘living things and environment’. The main categories of contents constituting this application are ecosystem, environmental pollution, energy and green development. And detailed subcategories were suggested for each category. The activities to implement in the application are further or complementary study on the concepts, quizzes, project research and presenting recommended books. As the results of applying this application, it has promoted the level of motivation for the classes utilizing smart device and the understanding of the content elements in the unit of ‘living things and environment’. It is expected that the utilization of this application allows teachers to provide various contents including articles, pictures and videos under the smart learning condition, to directly share the main concepts and questions with students, and to promote elementary school students’ motivation for learning and their interests in environment by two-way communica-tions
면내 회전 자유도가 추가된 hybrid Trefftz 평면 요소와 DKMQ 요소를 이용한 4 절점 평면 셸 요소의 개발

We develop a new four-node flat shell element which is accurate, efficient, and suitable to be used on general purpose. The new element has a hybrid Trefftz element with drilling degrees of freedom as a membrane part. We define the two independent displacement field: the internal displacement field that satisfies governing equations in the domain a priori and the boundary displacement field that is usually used as a conventional finite element method. The hybrid Trefftz variational formulation connects these two displacement fields on the boundary of the domain. To add drilling degrees of freedom, we introduce the Allman’s quadratic displacement field to the boundary displacement field. As a result, our flat shell element has 6 degrees of freedom per a node. We also use the well-known DKMQ plate bending element for the plate part of the proposed element. The DKMQ element satisfies Mindlin-Reissner’s plate theory along the edge of the element and gives proper behavior regardless of the thickness. A series of numerical experiments shows that the performance of the new element such as accuracy, rate of convergence, robustness to mesh quality, and so on.
Microsate미커를 이용한 실용 한국 재래닭 집단의 판별

한국 재래닭은 육질이 좋은 것으로 알려져 있지만 성장이 느려 경제성이 낮은 단점을 가지고 있다. 최근 국립 축산 과학원은 재래닭의 성장 및 육질 형질을 향상한 우리맛닭 실용계를 개발하였다. 본 연구는 Microsatellite 마커를 이용하여 우리맛닭 2호 집단과 8개의 다른 재래닭 집단을 구별하기 위하여 실시하였다. 총 302수, 8품종이 본 실험에 이용되었으며 Cervus, API-CALC, STRUCTURE, PowerMarker 프로그램을 이용하여 유전적 다양성과 structure 분석을 수행하였다. 평균 대립유전자 수, 이형접합도, 다형성은 7.17, 0.741, 0.682로 각각 나타났으며, 예측되는 친자 확인율은 99% 이상으로 확인되었다. 이형접합도와 다형성 값이 0.7 이상으로 확인되는 마커 중 경제적으로 동일개체 출현빈도가 0에 가까운 수의 마커를 확보한 결과 12개의 마커를 선발하였다. 선택한 마커의 무작위 교배집단, 전형매 교배집단, 반형매 교배집단의 값은 각각 3.23E-33, 5.03E-22, 8.61E-08로 그 값이 매우 낮아 개체 식별력이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 유전적 거리를 이용한 집단 간의 유연관계를 확인한 결과 우리맛닭 2호의 구분이 뚜렷하게 이루어지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 우리맛닭 품종 구분과 육종 계획 수립의 기초자료로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

In many mechanical structures, the number of spot welds is closely related to overall cost and time of production of assemblies. In this study, we optimized the location and the number of spot welds in the lower control arm of the vehicle, as far as the structure retained the maximizing the fatigue resistance and durability. To ensure the requirements, we proposed design of experiment optimization method for the durability of LCA. During this optimization process, the design guideline for the optimal spot welding number and location was drawn as the minimum life expectation influence.
