초등영어 교육에서 문화간 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 모바일 협력학습 기반 플립러닝 수업 방안

The present study aims to develop a flipped classroom (or flipped learning) plan using mobile collaborative learning in order to promote students’ intercultural communicative competence in an elementary school in Korea. The problems found in the current practice of intercultural teaching were, firstly, efforts to promote students’ intercultural communicative competence went largely unheeded and, secondly, insufficient information was made available for an effective intercultural teaching method. Nevertheless, learner-centered approaches such as collaborative or project-based learning are strongly recommended in the Korean national curriculum revised in 2015. Accordingly, this study presents a flipped classroom plan using mobile collaborative learning with specific learning goals, objectives, tasks, and an assessment in order to provide an effective environment for intercultural communicative competence and to activate student-centered learning. A four-step class procedure was introduced: pre-class (online), intro-class (offline), in-class (offline) and post-class (online). In each stage, detailed class activities were presented for teacher and students. Lastly, an assessment of students’ development of intercultural competence over a semester was presented. The study suggests that such an approach could offer a solution for effective intercultural teaching and active student-centered learning that could be applied in the current English elementary school classroom in Korea. .
운기체질과 오장병증의 상관관계 - 캘리포니아에 거주하는 아시아 여성 286명의 임상연구 -

Objective To relate with significant relationship between symptoms and Five Zhang(五臟)symptoms in Five Woon Constitutions and to characterize Five Woons of Asian women who live at Los Angeles area in U.S.A. Methods 19 diagnostic questions were given to 286 Asian females subjects who were treated for their symptoms at an Asian medical clinic near Los Angeles in USA. The participants were given their constitutions, one of the Five Woons based on their birthdays. The Cross tabulation analysis was also applied to look for the effectiveness of Five Woons on the symptoms. Results 1. The cross tabulation analysis showed the significant effectiveness of the Five Woons on the five symptoms including dizziness, hot and cold, lower body edema and face fever(p<0.1). 2. The dizziness and the hot and cold were related with Liver diseases, the lower body edema was related with Kidney diseases and the face fever was related to Heart diseases. Conclusions This study can explain the relationship between the significant symptoms of Five Woons and Five Zhang(五臟)symptoms with reference which is the book by Yoon, ChoChang who lived 1700 years. Further clinical research is necessary to develop more delicate questionnaires and look for ways of characterizing the Five Woons. The diagnosis and corresponding treatment based on the Five Woons should be further studied in view of the Asian medicine.

Objectives : To effectively improve the treatment of obesity through Oriental medicine and to prepare basic material for proper classification of different types of obesity. Methods : After deciding on four types of obesity based on ‘DongYiBaoJian’, a questionnaire consisting of 38 items was constructed to decide which type an individual belonged to. 212 Females were requested to the complete the questionnaire. To verify that the cluster of four types of obesity was acceptable, a cluster analysis and a factor analysis were conducted as well as an evaluation on the distinction of each type. Also a canonical discriminant analysis was done to categorize the individuals into one of four types of obesity. Results : 1) Developed a reliable questionnaire consisting of 38 items for the purpose of classifying four types of obesity. 2) Obesity types were divided into four groups. Type I was designated as GanChengPi (肝乘脾類型), Type Ⅱ as PiWeiJuWang (脾胃俱旺類型), Type Ⅲ as PiWeiJuXu (脾胃俱虛類型), and Type Ⅳ as TanYin (痰飮類型). These types were verified and classified through the use of a cluster analysis as well as a factorizing analysis (p<0.05). 3) By the use of a questionnaire, four types of obesity were correctly classified with hit ratio of 87.3% and was 40.64% higher than the maximum chance criteria(Cmax) in unselected grouped. The hit ratios for Obesity Type I, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 93.3%, 93.3%, 78.6% and 50%(p<0.05). Conclusion: Further clinical research is necessary in the four types of obesity explored. By analyzing various test results, characteristics these types should be further explored.
Mobile Flashcard Application for Vocabulary Learning: Effects on Development of Vocabulary Knowledge

Responding to the need of empirical research on the use of mobile phone applications (apps) for language learning in the current literature, the present study conducted a comparative study using a smartphone flashcard app and a traditional vocabulary learning tool, a paper-based flashcard, in order to determine if the new learning tool, flashcard app, presented effectiveness on learner development of vocabulary knowledge. Two college EFL classes in Korea were participated in this study. One EFL class of the experiment group (n=43) studied their target vocabulary using the smartphone flashcard app while the other EFL class of control group (n=40) studied the same vocabulary words on paper-based flashcards. The mixed research methods that combined both quantitative (e.g., a pre- and post-test, and a questionnaire) and qualitative approaches (e.g., a semi-structured interview) were employed. The results showed that the learners who used the flashcard app outperformed the learners who studied the paper-based flashcard in vocabulary growth. In addition, the learners showed an overall positive attitude and perception toward the use of the flashcard app for their learning. This study suggests that the flashcard app is useful to develop learners’ vocabulary knowledge and can be a new effective vocabulary learning tool in the classroom.
