        치과위생사의 성격유형에 따른 전문직 정체성과 회복탄력성 및 직무만족도 연구

        Objectives: This study analyzes professional identity, resilience, and job satisfaction based on the personality types of dental hygienists, and identifies factors that impact job satisfaction. The aim was to provide basic information for developing customized education programs for each personality type, which consequently contribute toward improvement of job satisfaction in dental hygienists. Methods: A total of 215 dental hygienists working at dental hospitals and clinics in the Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces were ask to fill an online survey from June 20 to 30, 2022; of these, 214 surveys were considered for statistical analysis. Results: The professional identity of dental hygienists was correlated with resilience (r=0.750) and job satisfaction (r=0.452), and resilience was correlated with job satisfaction (r=0.539) (p<0.001). The factor affecting job satisfaction of dental hygienists was resilience (β=0.495) (p<0.001). Conclusions: In order to improve the job satisfaction of dental hygienists, it is necessary to implement a test that can identify individual characteristics. Accordingly, it will be necessary to develop a customized education program to improve professional identity and resilience.

        치위생학과 학생의 가상현실(VR) 적용 두경부해부학 수업태도 및 만족도

        Objectives: This study was conducted to verify the effectiveness of the VR-applied head and neck anatomy class and to be used as basic data for the development of a teaching method using VR in the basic dental hygiene field. Methods: A convenience sample was extracted from 128 students and graduates who completed the head and neck anatomy class at the department of dental hygiene at a university in Gwangju. From June 1 to July 31, 2021, an online survey was conducted on class attitude and satisfaction, and statistical analysis was performed using frequency analysis and independent sample t-test. Results: Class attitude (3.79), interest (3.64), attention (3.88), learning motivation (3.80), and achievement motivation (3.84) were all high in the head and neck anatomy VR application group (p<0.01). Satisfaction (3.99), relevance of class content (4.06) and class achievement (3.96) were high in the head and neck anatomy VR application group (p<0.01). The suitability of class attitude (3.65) and class content (sub-item of class satisfaction) (4.13) was high in the group with the 4th industrial revolution education experience (p<0.05). Conclusions: The effect of VR application in the head and neck anatomy class was confirmed to increase students’ class attitude and satisfaction. In the basic dental hygiene curriculum, it will be necessary to develop and utilize teaching methods related to the 4th industrial revolution and VR application classes.

        일부 치위생(학)과 학생들의 자아존중감 및 자기효능감과 장애인 인식간의 상관성 분석

        Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the correlation between self-esteem, self-efficacy, and awareness for disability in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 521 dental hygiene students from 5 universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam frm June 13 to July 16, 2016. The questionnaire consisted of self-esteem by Rosenberg (10 items), self-efficacy by Schwarzer (7 items), and the negative awareness for disabled person by Siller (24 items) using Likert 5 point scale. Results: Those who did volunteer activity for disabled person showed high self-esteem and self-efficacy than those who did not. Students having disability-related training experience had high self-esteem (p<0.05). Higher the self-esteem was, higher the self-efficacy was (r=0.655). Higher the self-efficacy was, the lower the negative awareness was (r=-0.142). Higher self-esteem enhanced the positive awareness for the disabled person (r=-0.206)(p<0.01). Conclusions: The systematic curriculum development for the disabled person recognition improvement should be made in order to enhance self-esteem and self-efficacy of the dental hygiene students.

        치과위생사의 긍정심리자본과 성장마인드셋, 셀프리더십이 재직의도에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the factors influencing the positive psychological capital, growth mindset, and self-leadership of dental hygienists in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions with regard to their retention intention. The findings would serve as basic data for improving the retention intention. Methods: The methods espoused for analysis comprised independent sample t-test and ANOVA for group comparisons, Pearson’s correlation analysis for examining the correlation between variables, and multiple regression analysis for identifying factors affecting retention intention. Results: Positive psychological capital was higher among those under the age of 27 and employed in dental clinics. Growth mindset was higher among those with less than three years of work experience and those working in clinics. Self-leadership was higher among those aged 28-31, and retention intention was higher among those under the age of 27 and with less than three years of work experience (p<0.05). A correlation was observed between positive psychological capital and self-leadership (r=0.760), self-leadership and retention intention (r=0.514), positive psychological capital and retention intention (r=0.505), positive psychological capital and growth mindset (r=0.337), and growth mindset and self-leadership (r=0.245) (p<0.001). Factors influencing the intention to stay at work were selfleadership (β=0.309) and positive psychological capital (β=0.242) (p<0.05). Conclusions: In order to improve dental hygienists' retention intention, it is necessary to devise strategies for improving positive psychological capital and self-leadership.

        DACUM 기법에 의한 치과코디네이터 실무형 교육과정 개발

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the duties of dental coordinators using the DACUM technique and to develop a practical training course for dental coordinators based on the results. Methods: The curricula for clinic coordinators across 20 educational institutions were analyzed. A board of DACUM specialists was assembled to analyze the role of dental coordinators and to develop a practical curriculum. Results: First, after analysis, we selected 8 duties and 34 tasks that should comprise the role of a dental coordinator, and the number of major tasks was 21. Second, the educational program for dental coordinators developed in this study consisted of a total of 60 hours, including 42 hours of lecture and 18 hours of practice. A pre-requisite curriculum and a final curriculum were developed, and the detailed educational contents and supplies were outlined for each subject. Third, after comparing it with the existing clinic coordinator curricula from 20 educational institutions, the curriculum based on DACUM contained 11 additional fields. Conclusions: This study developed a more specialized, detailed, and practical dental coordinator curriculum based on DACUM. It is expected that more dental coordinators could be trained more professionally with this curriculum, and it could lead to further improvement of the curriculum.

        치과위생사의 낙관성, 자기효능감, 직무스트레스가 직무만족도에 미치는 영향

        연구목적 : 치위생사의 낙관성, 자기효능감, 직무스트레스가 직무만족도에 어떠한 영향을 주는 지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 2012년 10월부터 12월 까지 M네트워크에 근무하는 치위생사 300명을 대상으로 일반적인 특성과 변수간의 상관분석을 실시하였고, 대상자의 직무만족도에 영향을 주는 요인을 다중회귀분석으로 실시하였다. 연구결과 : 낙관성이 높을수록 자기효능감(r=0.259), 직무만족도(r=0.270)는 양의 상관관계를 보였으며, 자기효능감과 직무 만족도 (r=0.355)는 양의 상관관계를, 직무스트레스(r=-0.288)와는 음의 상관관계를 보였으며(p〈.001), 직무만족도와 직무스트레스(r=-0.353)는 음의 상관관계를 보였다(p〈.001). 직무만족도에 영향을 주는 요인을 다중회귀분석 결과로 살펴보면, 총 경력이 2-6년 미만일 때, 낙관성이 높고 자기효능감이 높을수록, 직무스트레스가 낮을수록 직무만족도가 높게 나타났으며(p〈.05), 독립변수의 설명력(R2)은 0.338이었다. 결론 : 치위생사의 직무만족도에 영향을 주는 요인은 자신의 상황과 결과에 대해 긍정적인 태도를 갖는 낙관성과 자기 효능감이 높을수록, 직무에 대한 스트레스가 낮을수록 직무만족도가 높게 나타났다. Objective : This research was performed the influencing factors about optimism, self efficacy, job stress among dental hygienists. Methods : Data were obtained from October to December 2012, 300 dental hygienists who were working at dental clinic M network. This examination was done through surveys of correlation analysis between general characteristics and variable. Also obtain the data of dental hygienists by investigating and studying the factors that affect job satisfaction. Results : It was found that the higher the optimism was, the higher self-efficacy(r=0.259), job satisfaction (r=0.270) and the self-efficacy was showed plus correlation with self-satisfaction(r=0.355), minus correlation with job stress(r=-0.288) (p<.001). And also showed minus correlation between self-satisfaction and job stress(r=-0.353) (p<.001). The result showed the factors that affect the job satisfaction by multiple regression analysis with working experience under 2-6years, It was found that the higher self-satisfaction(p<.05) when the higher optimism, self-efficacy was and the less was job stress. And the explanation ability (R2) of independent variable was 0.338. Conclusion : It was found that the higher self-efficacy and optimism for positive attitude of the factors of influenced job satisfaction for dental hygienists. And the less was job stress, the higher job satisfaction was.

        치과위생사의 금연교육활동에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate dental hygienists’ knowledge of smoking, attitudes toward tobacco cessation, and tobacco cessation education activities, which will serve as fundamental data for developing an effective tobacco cessation education program for dental hygienists. Methods: From 2020-08-17 to 2020-09-05, 184 dental hygienists working at dental clinics and hospitals in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do were surveyed. We performed t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analyses. Results: Dental hygienists’ smoking-related knowledge, expert attitudes toward tobacco cessation, and tobacco cessation education activities were all high in tobacco cessation education (p<0.05). According to the analysis of the dental hygienists’ knowledge of smoking, attitude toward smoking, and correlation of tobacco cessation education activities, there was a significant amount of correlation (p<0.01). According to the analysis of factors affecting dental hygienists’ tobacco cessation education activities, expert attitudes towards tobacco cessation (β=0.434, p<0.001), tobacco cessation materials (β=0.160, p=0.009), experience in tobacco cessation education while attending school (β=0.152, p=0.010), and attitudes toward tobacco cessation (p<0.05) were statistically significant. Conclusions: The results of this study are utilized as fundamental data to develop an effective tobacco cessation education program, factoring in dental hygienists’ attitudes toward tobacco cessation.

        치위생학 통합교육과정에 대한 교수자의 요구도

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to know instructors` needs of integrated curriculum in dental hygiene practice.. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 112 instructors in Korea from June to July, 2015. The statistical analyses include frequency, percentage and Mann-Whitney` U test using SPSS 12.0 program. The questionnaire comprised needs of curriculum(5 items), integrated curriculum(10 items). Results: Need of integrated curriculum in practice course was statistically significant in school system(p=0.048) and number of students(p=0.041). The enhancement of clinical competence was high in teaching experience(11≤)(p=0.009) and perceptions of problems was high in experience of teaching(10≥)(p=0.047). In integrated curriculum, enhancement of clinical competence was statistically significant in school system(p=0.035) and number of students(p=0.011). Increase of professionalism was high in University(p=0.021), number of students(p=0.006) and teaching experience(10≥)(p=0.062). Conclusions: In order to improve curriculum in each institutions, it is necessary to measure in the view of representative institutions dimensions.

        장기근속 치과위생사들의 재직의도 영향 요인

        Objectives: This study aimed to investigate factors for retention intention among long-term employed dental hygienists and to provide basic data for improving the long-term service (working) environment. Methods: A total of 202 dental hygienists with more than five years' work experience at dental hospitals and clinics located in Seoul, Gwangju, and Jeonnam Province, South Korea, were surveyed. The data were analyzed for each factor using exploratory factor analysis, and differences according to the general characteristics of the participants were analyzed using an independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA and a hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: At the current workplace, a better working environment, and higher job satisfaction were associated with higher retention intention. However, lower professionalism in dental hygiene as a subdomain of the professional self-concept domain was associated with higher retention intention. Conclusions: To increase retention intention among dental hygienists, it is necessary to improve the working environment in which dental hygienists can perform professional roles and seek ways to establish their identity as professionals in dental healthcare settings.
