Purpose : This study aimed to clarify attributes, antecedents, and consequences of forensic nursing competency. Method : Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis was used to analyze twenty nine articles on forensic nursing based on a systematic review of theology, medicine, psychology, and nursing literature. Results : Forensic nursing competency consists of the following seven attributes: awareness of the medico-legal problem, multidisciplinary integrated knowledge, education and training in forensic science, professional career development, evidence based practice in forensic nursing, collaborative forensic nursing with community partner, safety and security effective communication, and supportive relationships. Finally, we could explain the consequences of forensic nursing competency on knowledge construction in nursing, enhancing professional nursing, and establishing a human rights and social justice based approach. The antecedents of forensic nursing competency were forensic science interest, forensic science experience, and nurses' view of person in forensic-works. Conclusion : Based on these results, we recommend the development of a Korean version of a scale to assess forensic nursing competency.

Effects of Sibseonsan as an Anti-Inflammatory, Anti-Wrinkle, and Skin Whitening Treatment

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether Sibseonsan (SSS) is an effective anti-inflammatory, anti-wrinkling, and whitening agent.Methods: To determine whether SSS had an anti-inflammatory effect, a murine macrophage cell line was used (RAW 264.7) and production of DPPH, NO, TNF-α, and PGE2 were measured. To ascertain potential anti-wrinkle effects of SSS in these cells, collagenase and elastase production were measured. To verify whether SSS had a whitening effect, tyrosinase activity and DOPA staining were performed using a melanoma cell line (B16/F10).Results: There was no significant reduction in survival of SSS-treated RAW 264.7 cells, up to 400 μg/mL. Free radical scavenging (23.96 ± 1.85%) was observed in RAW 264.7 cells treated with SSS at a concentration of 400 μg/mL. The SSS treatment group (400 μg/mL) significantly inhibited NO production compared with the LPS stimulated treatment group. The SSS treatment of macrophage cells appeared to reduce production of TNF-α in a concentration dependent manner. There was a significant reduction in the concentration of PGE₂ by about 25% in the SSS treatment (400 μg/mL) group (<i>p</i> = 0.05). Compared with the control, the production of collagenase and elastase in B16/F10 cells treated with SSS (400 μg/mL) was greater by 26.37% and 45.71%, respectively. The SSS treatment (400 μg/mL) group showed a significant reduction by about 17% in tyrosinase production in B16/F10 cells. The SSS treatment group showed little change in DOPA staining.<br>Conclusion: SSS extract may be useful for the treatment and prevention of inflammatory diseases and may have anti-wrinkle and whitening effects. These results may support the use of SSS in clinical practice.

『의학입문·외감(外感)』 「불면」과 『동의보감』 「몽(夢)」의 불면에 대한 처방 비교 연구

목적: 본 연구의 목적은 불면에 사용된 『의학입문』과 『동의보감』의 처방 특성이 어떻게 다른지 분석하였다. 방법: 『의학입문·외감(外感)』의 불면(不眠) 17개의 처방(처방 가감 포함)과 『동의보감』 「내경편內景篇)」의 몽(夢) 14개 처방을 선정하고, 각각의 처방은 주치(主治)와 약재 구성, 복용 방법으로 나누어 분석하였다. 처방을 구성하는 약재는 『본초학』 교재의 약물 분류에 따라 분류하고 출현 빈도를 정리하고 성(性), 미(味), 귀경(歸經) 측면에서 분석하였다. 결과: 불면의 원인을 『의학입문』에서는 허번(虛煩)으로 분류한 데 비해, 『동의보감』에서는 허번불수(虛煩不睡) 외에 혼리불수(魂離不睡), 사결불수(思結不睡), 노화(老化), 와불안(臥不安) 등을 추가하였다. 약물 분류 측면에서 전자에서는 보혈약(補血藥), 청열사화약(淸熱瀉火藥), 보기약(補氣藥)에 속하는 약물이, 후자에서는 보기약(補氣藥), 안신약(安神藥)에 속하는 약물이 더 많이 사용되었다. 약재의 성(性)은 전자보다 후자에서 온성(溫性)을 가진 약재가 많이 사용되었으며, 미(味)는 전자에서는 고(苦), 감(甘), 신(辛)의 순으로, 후자에서는 감(甘), 고(苦), 신(辛) 순으로 많이 사용되었다. 귀경(歸經)은 전자에서는 비(脾), 위(胃), 폐(肺)의 순으로, 후자에서는 폐(肺), 심(心), 비(脾), 위(胃)의 순으로 많이 사용되었다. 결론: 불면에 대한 원인들이 『의학입문』 보다 『동의보감』이 더 보충되었고 그에 따라 약물 분류와 약성(藥性) 측면에서 두 서적은 차이를 나타내고 있었다. 그러나 약재를 미(味), 귀경(歸經) 측면에서 비교한 결과는 빈도 순서에서 약간의 차이가 있으나 그 경향은 대체로 비슷하였다.

Hwa-Byung Treated by Using Ascending Kidney Water and Descending Heart Fire Pharmacopuncture: Three Case Studies

Objectives: We report the results of three case studies on the clinical effect of ascending kidney water and descending heart fire (AKDH) pharmacopuncture on patients with Hwa-Byung. Methods: This study involved three patients, all female, who had been admitted to a hospital of traditional Korean medicine and had been diagnosed as having Hwa-Byung by using the Hwa-Byung Structure Clinical Interview for DSM-IV. AKDH pharmacopuncture is administered by injecting pharmacopuncture at a specific acupoint to change from a state of water-fire disharmony to one of water-fire harmony. For our three patients, Hwangyeonhaedoktang (黃連解毒湯) pharmacopuncture was injected at GB21 and GB20 on both sides; a total of 0.4 cc was injected, with 0.1 cc being injected at each point. Fel ursi, Bezora bovis and moschus (BUM) pharmacopuncture was injected at CV17, CV12, and CV6; a total of 0.15 cc was injected, with 0.05 cc being injected at each point. Treatment was done daily. Progress was evaluated using the Hwa-Byung diagnostic interview (HBDIS), beck depression inventory (BDI), and numeric rating scale (NRS) scores. Results: For the first patient (case 1), after treatment, the HBDIS score was reduced from 44 to 30 points, the BDI score from 37 to 14, and the NRS score from 10 to 7. For the second patient (case 2), after treatment, the HBDIS score was reduced from 41 to 27 points, the BDI score from 13 to 7, and the NRS score from 10 to 5. For the third patient (case 3), after treatment, the HBDIS score was reduced from 42 to 28 points, the BDI score from 12 to 9, and the NRS score from 10 to 4. Conclusion: Ascending kidney water and descending heart fire pharmacopuncture treatment can be effective for improving ascending kidney water and descending heart fire energy and can be used to alleviate Hwa-Byung.

개에서 발생한 동맥관개존증 치료 증례

A Bicon Frise (7-month-old, intact female, B.W.: 3.5kg) was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with the history of the murmur which was picked up during routine vaccination. The grade 3 of continuous murmur was identified on the auscultation. In the thoracic radiography, descending aorta and main pulmonary artery were enlarged and vertebral cardiac scale (VHS) was 10. In the echocardiography, turbulent and continuous positive flow was identified in the pulmonary artery at the right parasternal short axis view. We found the patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) connected the main pulmonary artery with the aorta by CT image. So, the diagnosis of PDA was made. The continuous murmur was not identified on the auscultation after surgical correction was achieved by ligation of PDA.

Dystrophic calcinosis cutis associated with spontaneous hyperadrenocorticism was diagnosed in a 8-year-old female Chihuahua dog with erythematous, erosive, numerous papules, plaques, and crusts on the bilateral trunk, and inguinal region. Serum biochemical abnormalities included increases in alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), and cholesterol. Radiographs showed mild hepatomegaly and subcutaneous lobulated calcific deposits. Histopathologic examination demonstrated diffuse deposition of basophilic calcified material in the dermis. Von Kossa's stain confirmed calcium deposition. Therapy with diltiazem was useful in resolving calcinosis.

‘인정’ 패러다임 안에서 주체로 ‘투쟁’하기: 호네트(A. Honneth)의 ‘인정 이론’과 교육 비판

악셀 호네트는 『인정투쟁: 사회적 갈등의 도덕적 형식론』에서 ‘인정 이론’의 사상적 근간이 되고 있는 헤겔과 미드의 연구를 분석함으로써 오늘날 주체들이 자신의 정체성을 훼손하지 않으면서 발전시킬 수 있는 ‘상호 인정’이 무엇인지를 모색하였다. 그리고 인정 이론을 통해 사회적 박탈, 모욕, 굴욕, 무시 등과 관련된 모든 인정 유보의 현상들이 사회적 불의를 규정할 수 있음을 강조하면서 사회 정의란 세 가지의 인정 관계 ― 사랑, 권리, 사회적 가치 부여 ― 에 기초한 주체들이 자기 정체성을 형성하는 일과 관련 있음을 밝힌다. 본 논문은 사회 구조속에서 이루어지고 있는 갈등과 불의 등을 종합적으로 포괄할 수 있는 규범적 틀로서 호네트의 인정 이론을 중심으로 한 인간이 어떻게 사회 속에서 주체적으로 살아갈 수 있는지에 대하여 고민하고, 교육적 상황에서 ‘인정’ 개념은 어떠한 의미와 난점을 가지고 있는 지를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 앞으로 ‘인정’ 패러다임에 갇혀 있는 인간 삶과 교육의 모순적 상황들에 대하여 고뇌하며, 다양한 논의들을 이끌어낼 수 있는바탕이 될 수 있을 것이다. In Struggle for Recognition: The moral grammar of social conflicts Axel Honneth analyzed the works of Hegel and Mead that serve as a basis of ‘Theory for Recognition’, to seek ‘mutual recognition’ that subjects can develop without damaging their identities. Honneth’s analysis reveals that social justice relates to subjects’ forming their own identity based on three recognition relationships – love, right, grant of social value, while emphasizing that any reservation of recognition associated with social deprivation, insult, degradation and disregard leads to social injustice. This paper considers how a person can lead an independent life in a society by drawing upon Honneth’s theory for recognition as a normative framework that can embrace in a comprehensive manner conflict and injustice arising within social structures. It also intends to show what significance and problem ‘recognition’ concept may have in the context of education. It is hoped that this study could lay the foundation of active discussions on contradictory situation of human life and education confined to ‘recognition’ paradigm.

너스바움(M. Nussbaum)의 For Love of Country 논의 분석을 통한 세계시민교육의 쟁점과 의미 고찰

Martha Nussbaum invokes the idea of cosmopolitanism and global citizenship in contemporary pedagogy. Cosmopolitanism has run through the Stoic to Kant’s on Perpetual Peace. Nussbaum’s cosmopolitanism has received a range of responses: from expectations and hope for cosmopolitanism, a partial support for the idea, to criticisms as a mere illusion. These studies explain cosmopolitanism from economic, political, and moral perspectives. However, These studies lack to lead into further directions on what philosophical basis or main issues that cosmopolitanism and global citizenship education should be pursued. This paper examines the responses made by some of the most renowned scholars to Nussbaum on the difficulties, limitations, and the possibility of cosmopolitanism and global citizenship education. In so doing, I attempt to suggest that global citizenship education be thought in terms of ‘knowing’ and ‘practice’ which turns ‘strangeness’ into ‘familiarity’ in the ethics of life beyond ‘censorship.’ 마사 너스바움(M. Nussbaum)은 스토아 학파의 세계시민주의로부터 칸트의 영구평화론으로 이어져 온 세계시민주의와 세계시민성에 대한 테제들이 현대 교육학 안에서 새롭게 논의될 수 있는 계기를 열어주었다. 너스바움의 세계시민주의에 대해 많은 학자들은 각기 다른 주장을 펼치며 첨예하게 대립하고 있다. 세계시민주의에 대한 기대와 희망을 표출한 학자들이 있는 반면, 세계시민주의의 허상을 비판한 이들도 있고, 제한적으로나마 그것을 지지하고 있는 연구자들도 있다. 이들 연구는 세계시민주의를 크게 경제적, 정치적, 도덕적 관점에서 설명하고 있다. 그러나 세계시민주의와 세계시민교육에 대한 논의에서 무엇을 쟁점화하여 학문적 근간으로 삼을 것인지에 대해서는 구체적으로 언급하지 않았다. 본 논문은 너스바움이 세계시민주의와 세계시민교육을 주창한 이래 유수의 학자들에 의해 논의된 세계시민주의의 난점 및 한계 그리고 가능성을 파악한다. 그리고 이에 근거하여 세계시민교육은 정체성 ‘검열’을 넘어선 삶의 윤리로, ‘낯섦’에서 ‘익숙함’으로의 변화를 이끌어내는 ‘앎’이자 ‘실천’으로서 고려되어야 함을 주장하고자 한다.
