        The aim of this paper is to develope a new educational discourse about the patterns of parental role in Korean education. The central topics discussed are 1)the constitutional background of Korean education, 2)children's lifeworld at school and home, 3)the agenda of education reform,4)an analysis of the parental role models, and 5)the desirable roles expected from Korean parents; etc. The rather bold arguments and alternative, proposals of the diverse role patterns of parent have been presented in the context of the overall structure of Korean education. They may be risky and any attempt to bring about the successful actualization without the fundamental reform of Korean society and culture would be futile. This may be a social/cultural revolution, which usually takes long though. Within the dynamics of the whole Korean education, the positive role of parent's is expected.

      • 적응의 개념과 교육

        The aim of this paper is to analyze the concept of adjustment of general and educational contexts. The term implies man's intellectual reaction to the world. By this we mean he has some proper relationship to other people and the environment. Thus, it differs from conformity which signifies a situations in which there is no active action of man to control the environment expect to adapt to it. The various human conditions which he confronts are the natural, interpersonal, economic, social, and political. It is in the interpersonal and societal world that the meaning of adjustment is most controversial. Here we see the normative problem raised. Education consists of a family of activities which produce the educated man. the educated man outlined is he who shows human excellence in intellectual, moral, aesthetic and spiritual development. An argument is also made about the content of education with various forms of knowledge. These are derived from the fundamental dimensions of reality. What follows concerns the nature of teaching with the emphasis on debate and discussion in the classroom initiated by the teacher. How do we interpret the meaning of adjustment when the term is used in educational context? Here we distinguish a direct educational situation from non-educational ones such as social and economic conditions. Education directly touches human development while social and economic conditions are merely instrumental and indirect to it. Thus the concept of adjustment in the educational context implies the learner's active participation in the educational process for his intellectual and moral development.

        해방 후 고등학교 입시제도의 문제점이 교육적, 사회적인 측면에서 지적되고 고등학교 입시경쟁의 완화를 위하여 1973년 당시 문교부는 ‘새 교육 입시제도 및 고교 평준화’ 정책을 제시하게 되었다. 동 정책에 따라 1974년부터 고등학교 학생들의 선발은 시․도별로 연합고사를 실시한 후에 실업계, 예체능계 및 특수 목적고는 전기에 선발하고 일반계 고등학교는 후기에 모집정원에 해당하는 인원을 추첨으로 배정하였다.

        중국의 사회주의 현대화와 조선족교육의 미래

        This paper attempts to analyze the patterns of socialist modernization undergoing rapid change and its impact upon the education of ethnic Korean in China. The central topics discussed are 1)a brief historical background of the Korean community and education in China; 2) the establishment of socialist regime and Korean education; 3) the patterns of socialist modernization and Korean education; 4) the future of Korean community and education, etc. While Chiness-Korean community is faced with the crisis of assimilation into the larger society, its education seems to be on the brink of an unprecedented crisis, i.e. deconstruction. The development of these crses is primarily due to the changing nature of Chinese society since the adoption of opening and reform policy. In other words, the crisis of Chinese-Korean community and education is over the increasing problems running deeply to whether the social and cultural identity can be maintained.

        인간해방과 사회평등이라는 가정과 더불어 출현했던 서구식 근대교육은 교육을 사실상 제도적으로 독점하며 오늘날 전세계에 이식․확대되었다. 그러나 장밋빛 약속과는 달리, 오늘날의 학교교육은 실제로는 이데올로기가 되어 아동을 억류하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 따라서 자연으로부터 소외된 아동들은 궁극적으로 학교교육으로 인한 여러 가지 신체적 정신적 장애로 고통받고 있다. 이런 현상은 특히 한국의 경험에 의해 뒷받침된다. 그들의 방해받지 않는 성장을 위해 우리는 아동의 학습에 있어 관습적 접근방식에서는 전적으로 무시된 자연의 중대한 역할을 새롭게 인식해야 한다. 지금은 아동들을 국가와 시장을 넘어 교육으로부터 해방하여 자연속에서 뛰어 놀도록 해야할 때이다. Emerged with the assumptions of human liberation and social equalization, Western-style education has been transplanted in every corner of the world today and expanded through the institutional monopoly of educational enterprise. Contrary to the rosy promises, school today has, in reality, played an ideological part and a holding cage for children. Thus, today's children alienated from nature suffer ultimately from the erosion of childhood caused by a variety of physical and mental troubles related to schooling. This is strongly supported, in particular, by the Korean experience of education. For their unfettered development, we have to recognize the significant role of nature in children's learning, which has been totally neglected by the conventional approaches. Now is the time to liberate our children from education beyond the state and market and let them go out and play in nature.

      • 부산광역시 일반계 고등학교 배정방법 개선을 위한 연구

        Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education developed a system trying to automatically locate and distribute students. The system was based on students' application form and their addresses as the key for locating the students. Because the system could not be used as designed, there was a need to develop new system. However, the results of the survey through Web showed that both middle-school students and their parents wanted to hold the present allocation system. The students and the parents preferred a school which is located in near by their home. Depending on the findings of this research, we conclude and suggest.
