N/A Background : Clinical manifestations and complications of measles are more severe in adults than children. But, there has been few clinical and epidemiologic data about adult measles in Korea. Objective : We investigated clinical features, laboratory findings, disease courses and complications and discussed the reason why measles incidence has been increasing recently in young adults to find out the solutions to prevent measles. Method : From April 1999 to February 2001, we examined prodromal symptoms, skin rash, complications, routine CBC, and blood chemistry of 42 adults who were admitted in KangBuk SamSumg Hospital for measles and performed qualitative serum measles specific IgM and IgG antibody test using ELISA method. Results : 1. Age distribution of most adult measle patients was between 15 and 25 years old(78.6%). 2. Fever was found in all patients and cough, coryza, headache, myalgia, conjunctivitis, sore throat, nausea, diarrhea, and vomit were found in decreasing order of frequency. 3. Skin rashes were started from the face and spread to trunk, arms and then legs in 37 patients out of 42. Five patients had skin rash in the face and trunk at the same time, and one had hemorrhagic rash. Koplik`s spots were found in 26 patients (62%). Among them, 2 had Koplik`s spots befort the rash and 24 had Koplik`s spots with the rash simultaneously or thereafter. Koplik`s spots were disappeared as skin rash disappeared. Exfoliative dermatitis was found following the skin rash in one patient. 4. among 26 patients who performed qualitiative serum measles specific IgM and IgG antibody test using ELISA, the seropositivity of measles specific IgM was 70%, of measles specific IgG was 27%, and of both measles specific IgM and IgG was 12%. 5. Complications were like this; hepatitis in 23, cervical lympadenitis in 20, laryngitis and bronchitis in 7, otitis media in 4, pneumonia on chest X-ray in 3, hepatosplenomegaly on upper abdomen ultrasonography in 5. Two patients were in pregnancy of 12 and 16 weeks, and the former had spontaneous abortion. Pnemonia and otitis media were recovered within average 5 days after adminstrating antibiotics and antipyretics.(Korean J Dermatol 2003;4(10) : 1304~1310)

현재 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 성과평가지표들은 공통의 위험요인을 배제하여 매니저의 운용 능력을 측정하고 있으나 이는 매니저들이 시장상황과 무관하게 동일한 성과를 얻을 것이라는 점을 전제하고 있다. 그러나 최근의 연구에서는 펀드매니저의 능력이 경제상황에 따라 다르게 나타날 수 있다는 점을 발견하였다. 본 연구는 Kacperczyk et al.(2013)이 제기한 방법론에 따라 국내주식 시장에서 주식형 펀드 운용자들의 능력별 상대적 우월성이 경기국면별로 서로 다르게 나타남을 확인하였다. 즉 경기수축기에는 마켓타이밍 능력이 더 높게 나타나고 경기확장기에는 종목선택 능력이 평균적으로 더 높게 나타났다. 그리고 이를 반영한 Kacperczyk et al.(KNV)의 성과평가 지표를 산출하고 우수한 KNV 성과지표를 나타내는 펀드들을 분석하여 KNV 지표의 유효성, 예측성 그리고 지속성을 확인하였다. 다만 국내 우수 주식형 펀드 운용자들은 경기국면별로 종목선택 능력과 마케팅능력을 변화시키기 않고 특정 운용능력을 지속적으로 유지하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구결과를 통해 우수한 펀드를 선택하고자 하는 투자자 또는 우수 위탁운용사를 선정하고자 하는 기관투자자가 투자결정과 전략적 의사결정에 있어 참고지표로써 이를 활용해 볼 수 있으리라고 기대한다. Widely used mutual fund performance evaluation measures by Jensen (1968), Fama and French (1993), and Carhart (1997) are risk-adjusted measures assuming that alpha can be achieved regardless of the economic situations such as recessions or expansions. On the other hand, Kacperczyk, Nieuwerburgh and Veldkamp (2014) developed a performance evaluation measure (KNV measure) that captures the fund manager skills during the recessions and expansions. In this study, we utilize KNV measure to evaluate performance of publicly traded domestic mutual funds. First, we find that there are significant differences between risk-adjusted returns of domestic mutual funds in recessions and those in expansions. Market timing skill is more relevant during recessions whereas stock selection skill is during expansions. Second, we find that performance differences between superior funds and inferior funds are persistent over a 12-month period. Also, the combined performance measure including the market timing and stock selection is significant in selecting superior fund managers. Finally, we find no evidence that the same fund managers who show superior stock selection skill during expansions also do superior market timing skill during recessions. Such a finding is different from the study of Kacperczyk, Nieuwerburgh and Veldkamp (2014).

이 연구는 폐광산 암사면 및 폐석 적치장 사면의 안정화와 더불어 척박한 환경에 친환경적으로 식물이 생육할 수 있는 기반을 조성, 녹화함으로써 광업활동으로 인해 생성된 인위적인 사면의 미관을 개선하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 따라서 이 연구에는 사면의 안정화와 더불어 폐석유실 및 광물찌꺼기 비산 방지를 통해 광산지역의 환경을 친환경적으로 복원하고자 개발하고 있는 폐광산 사면 보호를 위한 친환경 식생복원 소재 개발에 대한 내용을 기술하였다. 폐광산 암사면 및 폐석사면에서의 친환경 식생복원 소재를 개발하기 위하여 우선적으로 현재 많이 사용되고 있는 천연섬유인 코이어섬유 소재, 재구성을 향상시키기 위한 천연섬유/화학섬유 소재 및 화학섬유 소재 등을 대상으로 인장강도, 인열강도 등의 시험을 실시하였다 그 결과 천연섬유인 코이어섬유에서 친환경 식생복원의 가능성을 파악할 수 있었다. 이는 동일한 천연섬유라 할지라도 꼬임의 정도 및 생분해성에서의 내구성을 향상시키기 위한 항균처리 등으로 자연상태에서의 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있으리라 판단된다. The aim of this study is to develop eco-friendly, fundamental technology for vegetative restoration of barren lands using green rehabilitation material, for the stabilization of abandoned mine debris slopes and depository slopes composed of rock fragments. It is expected that such methods would help to improve the negative view of artificial slopes that remain following mining activity, while also contribution to slope stabilization and prevention of the loss of rock fragments and tae dispersion of tailings. We tested the tensile strength and tear strength of var-ious materials, including commonly used natural coir material, natural fibers, and synthetic textile materials with enhanced durability. In conclusion, there is the possibility that natural coir ca be used as an eco-friendly material in vegetation restoration, while its durability in natural conditions can be improved by controlling the degree of knot convolution and by antibacterial treatment against biodegradation.

In order to prolong freshness of garlic, the effect of different predrying treatments on quality characteristics during predrying and storage was investigated. As a result of being applied continuous predrying methods dried for 24 hours a day and discontinuous methods dried for 9 hours and 1e1t for 15 hrs a day at 30, 40, 50℃ respectively, it was appropriate the discontinuous predrying method at 40℃ for 7 days and the continuous method at 30℃ for 6 days of which predrying period was taken less time and the loss of pyruvate and thiosulfinate content were low. The predried garlic was stored at -3.5℃ for 6 months to examine the effect of predrying on quality during storage. Predried garlic had less rotting ratio than control but was not different in sprouting ratio.
