강원도 인제군에 있는 점봉산의 한 소하천에서 신갈나무 낙엽이 분쇄되는 양상을 까치 박달과 비교하여 보았다. 신갈나무 낙엽의 하루당 분쇄율(-k . day$^{-1}$)은 0.00503으로서 까치박달 낙엽의 약 113이었다. 낙엽주머니에서는 총 45 분류군에 속한 대형무척추동물이 출현하였는데 까치 박달에서 39 분류군이, 신갈나무 낙엽 주머니에서 38분류군이 채집되었다. 강도래목에 속하는 Nemoura tau는 두 낙엽주머니에서 가장 흔한 분류군이었고 비포식성 Chironomidae는 두 번째로 흔한 분 류군이었다. 현존량은 Gammarus가 가장 높았고 그 다음으로 하루살이에 속한 Cincticostella castanea가 높았다 곤충 분류군의 대부분에서 4~6월 사이에 현존량이 큰 폭으로 감소하였으나 이 시기에 비 곤충류의 현존량은 오히려 증가하였다. 낙엽을 뜯어먹는 무리 중 낙엽분쇄에 가장 중요한 분류군은 Gammarus로서 이들은 까치박달낙엽을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. Nemoura tau 는 가장 흔한 분류군 이었으나 이들이 1차하천에서 일어나는 낙엽분쇄에 미치는 영향은 크지 않은 것으로 보였다. 뜯어먹는 무리에 속한 다른 분류군은 이 둘에 비하여 개체수와 현존량이 매우 낮으므로 1차하천의 낙엽분쇄는 Gammarus의 섭식생태에 의하여 크게 결정될 것으로 판단되었다. Leaf Litter processing rate of Quercus mongolica was compared with that of Carpinus cordata in a first-order stream draining Mt. Jumbong in Inje-Gun, Kangwon Province. Daily processing rate (-k . day$^{-1}$ ) of Q. mongolica leaf litter in mesh bags was 0.00503, about one-third of that of C. cordata leaf litter. Forty five macroinvertebrate taxa were collected from litter bags; 39 taxi from C. cordate and 38 taxa from Q. mongolica litter bags. Nemoura tau, a precopteran shredder, was the most abundant taxon in both leaf species, and the second was the non-predatory chironomids. In terms of biomass, Gammarus, an amphipodan shredder, was the largest. and followed by Cincticostella castanea, an ephemeropteran gatherers. The biomass of most insect taxa decreased during April to June, while that of non-insect taxa greatly increased during the same time period. Gammarus was the most important shredder talon to the leaf litter breakdown in the experimental stream and appeared to prefer C. cordata to Q. nongolica leaf litter. N. tau, in spite of its abundance, seemed to have a limited effect on the leaf litter processing . Since other shredders were minor compared with these two taxa, leaf litter processing in this stream appeared to largely depend on the feeding ecology of Gammarus.

Neurilemmomas are benign nerve sheath tumors arising from peripheral Schwann cells. The tumor composed of Schwann cells and collagen fibers, can occur in any region of the body where there is a nerve that has a Schwann sheath. The incidence of the tumor in the head and neck is about 30% with many of these occurring on the vagus nerve. Neurilemmoma is characterized by solitary occurrence, with sharp demarcation and encapsulation. Multiple genesis is very rare. This article presents a rare case of multiple neurilemmomas located bilaterally in the cervical region.

Al-doped ZnO (AZO) thin films were deposited on glass substrates at room temperature by using the continuous composition spread (CCS) method. CCS is a thin-film growth method for various AlxZn1−xO thin film compositions with a binary or ternary composition spread, and the critical properties can be evaluated as functions of position, which is directly related to material composition, by using an automated probe station. Various compositions of Al-doped ZnO thin films deposited at room temperature were explored to find excellent electrical and optical properties. The lowest resistivity of the AZO thin films deposited at room temperature was 2.8 × 10−3Ω·cm,and the average transmittance in the 400-to-900-nm wavelength region was 93%. The optimized composition of the AZO thin film, which had the lowest resistivity and highest transmittance was Al0.05Zn1O1.05 (about 3.13-wt% Al2O3).
