The current flowing though a power line is measured by a current transformer (CT). Since a CT is a kind of transformer, saturation of magnetic flux in the core may occur when a large primary current flows. This saturation makes the secondary current of a CT distorted and causes problems in the protection point of view. Because of the current distortion, a protection relay cannot collect the correct information showing how the primary power system changed. Consequently, the current distortion may cause the mal-operation or operation time delay of protective relay. In this paper, an algorithm based on AR model and LSQ is proposed to compensate the saturated CT secondary currents. Various test results indicate that the proposed algorithm can accurately compensate a severely distorted secondary current and is not affected by remanence.
Periodogram을 이용한 움직임 추정에서의 속도 Pairing

움직이는 여러 개 물체의 속도를 추정하능 방법으로 피리오도그램(periodogram)을 사용하는 방법이 있다. 이는 영상 시퀀스를 프레임별로 수직과 수평 방향으로 투사를 한 후 시간축 FFT를 실행한다. 차원 주파수 도메인에서 원점을 지나는 직선상의 화소들의 에너지를 합하여 움직이는 물체의 속도를 추정하게 된다. 물체가 두 개 이상일 경우에는 각각의 움직이는 속도에 해당하는 여러 개의 피크 값들을 검출하게 된다. 이 피크 값들을 짝지어 주게 되면 물체 각각의 속도가 나오게 된다. 본 논문의 방법은 기존의 수평, 수직 투사이외에, 투사의 방향을 추가하여 수평 수직 방향 속도 성분을 짝지워줬다. 기존의 논문들에 비해 간단한 계산으로 움직이는 물체의 속도를 효과적으로 짝지울 수 있다. A fast multiple object motion detection method using periodogram has been proposed. Each frame is projected to vertical and horizontal directions, and then temporal FFT is applied. A line in two dimensional frequency domain indicates velocity. To estimate the velocity of an object, we intergrate along a line which passes through the origin in frequency domain. If a frame contains multiple moving objects, multiple peaks are detected corresponding to the velocity of each object. After pairing these peaks, we can determine the velocities of an object. In the proposal method we can easily pair horizontal and vertical velocity components efficiently with simple computation by combining projections in 45$^{\circ}$ and 135 $^{\circ}$ directions in addition to the vertical and horizontal direction.

Although "sentence stress" in English takes a very important role in its daily conversations and communication, Korean students are not familiar with its concept. It is partly because they are used to the phonological system of their own language, Korean, which is syllabled-timed, and partly because they are not exposed to actual practices for speaking English, which is stress-timed. This paper is a case study of English sentence stress patterns realized in Korean college students with a main focus on their errors and inconsistencies, in order to prove that understanding sentence stress is a very basic and critical step toward a proper level of communication between English speakers. The case study tells us that most Korean students do not have a proper understanding of English sentence stress, and that they make errors which can be easily found in most speakers of syllable-timed language, such as inconsistent stress assignments, improper placements of pauses, and poor understanding of rhythmic structure of English. However, when a student has been exposed to enough practices for speaking, he or she is likely to give a proper sentence stress pattern as expected.

A study on the topology optimization of a multi-spectral camera for space-use is presented. The optimization is carried out under self-weight and polishing pressure loading. A multi-spectral camera for space-use experiences degradation of optical image in the space, which can not be detected on the optical test bench on the earth. An optical surface deformation of a primary mirror, which is a principal component of the camera system, is an important factor affecting the optical performance of the whole camera system. In this study, topology optimization of the primary mirror of the camera is presented. As an objective function, a measure of Strehl ratio is used. Total mass of the primary mirror is given as a constraint to the optimization problem. The sensitivities of the objective function and constraint are calculated by direct differentiation method. Optimization procedure is carried out by an optimality criteria method. For the light-weight primary mirror design, a three dimensional model is treated. As a preliminary example, topology optimization considering a self-weight loading is treated. In the second example, the polishing pressure is also included as a loading in the topology optimization of the mirror. Results of the optimized design topology for the mirror with various mass constraints are presented.

기업은 시장경쟁력 향상에 중요한 혁신제품개발을 위해 다각적으로 노력하고 있으나, 국내 대학은 혁신제품개발 전문인력 양성을 위한 교육과정 체계가 미흡하다. 본 연구는 혁신제품개발 교육과정 개발에 활용될 수 있는 교육주제, 교육방식, 그리고 산학연계방식에 대해 학생과 실무자의 요구사항을 파악하고자 하였다. 문헌조사를 통해 7개 부문(기획, 타당성 분석, concept 개발, 제품 설계, 제조 공정 설계, 생산, 윤리와 법)의 46개 제품개발 교육주제가 선정되었다. 제품개발 관련 과목 수강생(53명)과 관련업무 종사자(36명)를 대상으로 선정된 교육주제의 선호도(학생)/중요도(실무자), 교육방식 및 산학연계방식에 대한 의견이 조사되었다. 설문 분석 결과, 7개 교육 부문에 대해 학생은 균형 있는 교육을 선호하는 반면 실무자는 기획과 concept 개발 부문이 상대적으로 중요하게 교육되어야 한다고 응답하였으며, 교육주제들 중 6가지(제품개발전략, 고객요구조사, 시장조사, concept 창출 방법, 디자인 idea 생성방법, 인간공학 디자인)에 대해 학생과 실무자가 공통적으로 선호 혹은 중요시하는 것으로 파악되었다. 또한, 학생은 다양한 교육방식(이론, 토론, 발표, 실습, 사례연구)의 균형 있는 운영을 선호하며 각 교육방식에 대한 요구사항을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 산학연계방식에 대해 학생은 산업체와의 연계를 통한 실무학습 기회를 희망하였으며, 실무자는 학교와 산업체가 상호 혜택을 제공할 수 있는 방안들을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 파악된 학생과 실무자의 요구사항은 혁신제품개발 전문인력 양성을 위한 교과과정 개발 시 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다. Companies have been making considerable efforts to develop innovative products for better competitiveness in the market, however, the education curriculum for innovative product development (IPD) in domestic universities needs has not been well developed. The present study was intended to identify the needs of students and practitioners regarding teaching subjects, pedagogical methods, and industry-academia collaboration that can be reflected in the development of IPD education curriculum. Through a literature survey 46 IPD teaching subjects of 7 categories (planning, feasibility analysis, concept development, product design, manufacturing process design, production, and ethics & law) were selected. Opinions on the preferences and importances of the teaching subjects, pedagogical methods, and industry-academia collaboration were collected from 53 college students who took courses of product development and 36 practitioners working in product development. While the students preferred the balanced teaching of all the subject categories, the practitioners suggested planning and concept development be taught with high importance; 6 subjects (product development strategy, customer needs identification, market research, concept generation method, design ideation method, and ergonomic design) received high ratings of preference and importance. The students preferred the mix of various pedagogical methods (lecture, discussion, presentation, practice, and case study) and provided needs on each pedagogical method. Lastly, the students wanted an opportunity of learning through industry-academia collaboration and the practitioners provided ideas for mutual benefits between industry and academia. The needs of students and practitioners identified in the study can be effectively applied to develop a better IPD education curriculum.
