We report the first identification of a spawning ground of the blackfin flounder Glyptocephlaus stelleri near the Wangdol-cho sea mountains, located in the southern East Sea. Eggs and larval fish of G. stelleri were collected during April and June, 2014, when an abundance of eggs was found in the southern area of Wangdol-cho. Our findings sug-gest that G. stelleri prefers to spawn in the vicinity of the off-shore sea mountains, where the temperature is between 10 and 12℃ and the water depth is 100 m, rather than inshore.
수영자 탐지 소나에서의 해상실험 데이터 분석 기반 자동 표적 추적 알고리즘 성능 분석

In this paper, we discussed automatic target tracking algorithms for diver detection sonar that observes penetration forces of coastal military installations and major infrastructures. First of all, we analyzed sea trial data in diver detection sonar and composed automatic target tracking algorithms based on track existence probability as track quality measure in clutter environment. In particular, these are presented track management algorithms which include track initiation, confirmation, termination, merging and target tracking algorithms which include single target tracking IPDAF (Integrated Probabilistic Data Association Filter) and multitarget tracking LMIPDAF (Linear Multi-target Integrated Probabilistic Data Association Filter). And we analyzed performances of automatic target tracking algorithms using sea trial data and monte carlo simulation data. 본 논문은 연안 군사시설 및 주요 기반시설에 대한 침투세력을 감시하는 수영자 탐지 소나에서의 자동 표적추적 알고리즘을 다루었다. 이를 위해 수영자 탐지 소나에서의 해상실험 데이터를 분석하였고, 클러터 환경에서 자동표적 추적을 위한 트랙평가수단으로서 트랙존재확률 기반의 알고리즘을 적용하여 시스템을 구성하였다. 특히 트랙초기화, 확정, 제거, 합병 등의 트랙관리 알고리즘과 단일표적추적 IPDAF(Integrated Probabilistic Data Association Filter), 다중표적추적 LMIPDAF(Linear Multi-target Integrated Probabilistic Data Association Filter) 등의 표적추적 알고리즘을 제시하였으며, 해상실험 데이터 및 몬테카를로 모의실험 데이터를 이용하여 성능을 분석하였다.

Objectives: Oral health literacy is defined as ‘the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic oral health information and services needed to make an appropriate health decision’. This goal of this study was to develop an instrument for assessing oral health literacy in Korean adults. Methods: This instrument was developed by using the adult literacy evaluation tool of the Korean Government. The components were mainly related to 2 conditions (‘oral health information’ and ‘dental treatment instruction’), and they were classified into 3 cognitive processes (realistic, deductive, and critical domains). Furthermore, all of the subcomponents were divided into prose and non-prose. Therefore, each of the 12 subcomponents had 4 items, resulting in a final questionnaire with 48 items. A pilot survey was conducted in 51 adults, and the quality of the questionnaire was subsequently evaluated. We identified reliability by using Cronbach’s a, discrimination, and difficulty. Two items from each of the 12 subcomponents were selected as the final items. We set the difference thresholds at over 0.5 and over 0.3 for reliability and discrimination, respectively. Finally, we distributed the difficulty from 35 to 95%. Results: The reliabilities of all items (48) and the final items (24) were 0.838 and 0.836, respectively. The mean discrimination of the final items was higher than that of all items (mean: 0.5 and 0.3, respectively). The difficulty curve of the final items followed a normal distribution. Conclusions: The reliability and validity demonstrated by the final 24 items indicates that they are appropriate for evaluating oral health literacy in adults.

Objectives: We used a questionnaire to measure the oral health literacy of Korean adults. We then evaluated the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. Methods: This questionnaire was developed using a literacy assessment tool from the National Institute of Korean Language, Republic of Korea. The survey was composed of instructions for dental treatment and oral health information. The components were sub-classified into three cognitive processes (realistic, deductive, and critical domains). Of the 337 university students who received the questionnaire, 84.3 percent responded. We calculated the reliability of the questionnaire using Cronbach`s α, to assess the item discrimination and difficulty as well as effectiveness of distracters. Results: We found that the reliability of the 24 items in the questionnaire was 0.89. The mean item discrimination and difficulty values were 0.53 and 0.71. The percentage of correct answers was higher than the effectiveness of the distracters in all items. The mean number of answers to the oral health information data (72.1) was higher than that to dental treatment instructions (63.9). The mean number of answers to the items in the realistic domain (76.1) was higher than that to the items in the deductive (69.4) and critical (65.9) domains. Neither gender nor university major had a significant effect on the percent-age of correct answers. Conclusions: Sixty percent of university students were found to have the government-recommended level of oral literacy. Therefore, better oral health education is required to ensure that all individuals meet government-recommended levels.

Creep-fatigue crack growth behavior was experimentally measured particularly when a crack was located in the heat affected region of 1Cr-0.5Mo steel. Load hold times of the tests for trapezoidal fatigue waveshapes were varied among 0, 30, 300 and 3,600 seconds. Time-dependent crack growth rates were characterized by the C-parameter. It was found that the crack growth rates were the highest when the crack path was located along the fine-grained heat affected zone(FGHAZ). Cracks located in other heat affected regions had a tendency to change the crack path eventually to FGHAZ. Creep-fatigue crack growth law of the studied case is suggested in terms of (da/dt)<SUB>avg</SUB> vs. (C<SUB>t</SUB>)<SUB>avg</SUB> for residual life assessment.

The anti-asthmatic activities of the extract of Lonicera japonica (BuOH fraction) and its mode of action were investigated using several in vitro and in vivo models. Lonicera japonica was extracted with 30% ethanol (v/v) and successively partitioned into BuOH. The BuOH fraction reduced antigen-induced contraction of isolated trachea from sensitized guinea pigs in a concentration-dependent manner. The BuOH fraction also inhibited histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells induced by antigen or calcium ionophore A23187 ($IC_{50}=0.26$ and 0.32mg/ml, respectively). Eosinophil infiltration into bronchoalveolar lavage fluids induced by aeroallergen challenge in passively sensitized guinea pigs was inhibited by the BuOH fraction at a dose of 800mg/kg (51.7%). In addition, the BuOH fraction inhibited leukotriene $B_4$ prodution in rat basophilic leukemia cells ($IC_{50}=0.42\;mg/ml$) as well as phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) isolated from rat brain ($IC_{50}=0.015\;mg/ml$). All results from this study strongly suggest that the BuOH fraction of Lonicera japonica may be useful in the treatment of asthma and its mode of action may be related with inhibition of both 5-lipoxygenase and PDE4 enzyme.
