The current study was undertaken to determine the effects of lactic acid bacteria isolated from human intestine on serum and liver cholesterol concentrations and lipoprotein lipase(LPL) activity of adipose tissue in male Sprague-Dawley rats fed high-cholesterol and high-fat diets. The experiment was conducted for 4 weeks with 48 rats(divided into six groups) fed diets containing 0.5% cholesterol and 10% beef tallow except negative control group. The lactic acid bacteria groups(Lactobacillus CYL-5, Streptococcus CYS-8, Bifidobacterium CYB-11 and 3 Strains Mixed) were orally administered with 0.2㎖ lactic acid bacterial culture(10^8-10^9 cfu/㎖) per day. The positive control group received the same diets as the lactic acid bacteria administered groups, but with no lactic acid administration. The regular commercial diet was supplied for the negative control group. Serum total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol concentrations were significantly(p$lt; 0.05) reduced by administration of Lactobacillus CYL-5 and 3 Strains Mixed. However, there were no significant differences in serum triglyceride and HDL-cholesterol concentrations among the groups. Administering lactic acid bacteria to the rats significantly(p$lt;0.05) also reduced their liver total cholesterol wncentration compared to the positive control rats. Liver triglyceride concentration in Streptococcus CYS-8, Bifidobacterium CYB-11 and 3 Strains Mixed groups were significantly(p$lt; 0.05) lower than that of positive control group. The total lipid concentration in liver was significantly(p$lt; 0.05) lower in 3 Strains Mixed group than in positive control group. LPL activities of epididymal fat pads and mesenteric fat pads in lactic acid bacteria administered groups were lower than that of the control(p $lt; 0.05). LPL activity of mesenteric fat pads were lower than the activity of epididymal fat pads(p$lt;0.05). These results suggest that lactic acid bacteria isolated from human intestine acts as a hypocholesterolemic agent in rats.

From a manufacturing standpoint it would be desirable to monitor the degradation of drawing die, that is essential for the maintenance of die quality, the evaluation of product integrity and the reducing scrap. Acoustic emission is powerful method in monitoring fine wire drawing process, especially in detection the die fracture at early stage. Experiments also suggested that acoustic emission sigals contained valuable information regarding the stage of a drawing process such as the surface appearance of products and the condition of lubrication. These informations are AE monitoring techniques a possible tool in monitoring the drawing process operation. In order to approach this, this paper discusses the nature of acoustic emission signal presented which illustrate the effects of wire and die material, lubricants, and drawing speed on the generation and the mean voltage level of acoustic emission signal. From these experimental, results, we understanded controlling factors of acoustic emission generation.
구조용강재의 FCAW에 의한 용접부의 미세조직과 기계적 성질

ABSTRACT SM490B structural and SM45C rolled steels were welded in the multilayers with three different heat inputs of 0.6, 0.9 and 1.2kJ/mm and three different shielding gas compositions of 100%CO2, 75%CO2 + 25%Ar and 50%CO2 + 50%Ar. Tensile strength of weldments increased slightly with increasing heat inputs from 0.6 to 0.9kJ/mm whereas that of weldments with heat input of 1.2 kJ/mm decreased. Hardness values of weld metal decreased with increasing heat inputs while Charpy impact values increased with increasing heat inputs. In multilayers of weld metal, the microstructure in the columnar zone of top bead of weld metal consisted of coarser grain boundary ferrite and thicker ferrite side plate, as well as polygonal ferrite with increasing heat inputs. Precision electronic equipments for outdoor use are composed of sophisticated microcircuits that are extremely vulnerable to lightning-caused voltage spike. This transient voltage spike may cause upset, latent failure or interference on electronic equipments. In order to develop efficient lightning protection measures on AC power lines of a road traffic controller as a electronic equipment: for outdoor use, experimental surge immunity tests were conducted according to IEC standard 801-5. The combination of gas tube arrester and metal-oxide varistor was installed at the input of AC power lines and the silicon avalanche suppressor installed at the output of DC power supply for the lightning protection measures.
지르칼로이-4 박판의 레이저 용접성과 용접부 미세조직에 관한 연구

By using Nd:YAG laser system, the weld bead formation, laser weldability and weld microstructure of Zircaloy-4 sheets for nuclear fuel structural components were investigated by changing the laser parameters which affect the mechanical properties and microstructure. It was found that the optimum pluse energy and beam power for Zircaloy-4 thin sheets welding were 18J and 200W, whereas the pulse duration and travel speed were 7.5ms and 200mm/min, respectively. The optimum range of focal point to obtain deep weld penetration and narrow width was about 0.5 mm below the surface of the specimen to be welded for Zircaloy-4 sheets. The optimum flow rate of shielding gas was about 60-150ℓ/min. In the same conditions, the results showed that there were no big differences in the weld depth and width between the bead-on-plate and butt welds. The hardness value was measured across the weld zone. Hardness values showed 160-165HV of base metal, 170-210 HV of HAZ and 220-230 HV of the weld metal. The mechanical test results showed that laser beam welds were ductile. It was found that the laser beam welded zone comprised ofa mixed microstructure of martensitic α, nonparallel Widmansta¨tten plates and basketweave.
