Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power plant converts coal to syngas, which is mainly composed with hydrogen and carbon monoxide, by the gasification process and produces electric power by the gas and steam turbine combined cycle power plant. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of gasification process to type and structure of gasifier. For this purpose, the performance characteristics of gasification reaction are analyzed with the operation characteristic of pilot-scale 2-stage coal gasifier. It is found that gasification reaction, floating characteristic of melted slag, particle stick of inside of the gasifier, particle stick and deposit of Syngas cooler are the causes in the different performance characteristics.
Strain hardening behavior of linear polymer melts

Linear high-density polyethylene (PE) was controlled to induce strain-hardening behavior by introducing a small amount of second component with an anisotropic structure. In order to form an anisotropic structure in the PE matrix, the polymer was extruded through a twin-screw extruder, and the structure was controlled by varying the extrusion conditions. Depending on conditions, the second component formed a film, thread and droplet structure. If the second component was kept rigid, the morphology evolution could be delayed and the second component could maintain its film or thread structure without further relaxation. In particular, the second component of the thread structure made a physical network and gave rise to remarkable strain hardening behavior under high extension. This study suggests a new method that induces strain hardening behavior by introducing a physically networked second component into the linear polymer melt. This result is anticipated to improve the processibility of linear polymers especially when extensional flow is dominant, and to contribute to our understanding of strain hardening behavior.
스팀 및 석탄 주입량 변화에 따른 2단 석탄 가스화기의 성능 평가

IGCC technology has been drawing attention as the upcoming alternative energy source to generate electric power for a few decades. It is because its higher efficiency and possibilities for using low rank coal and adapting carbon capture and storage. In this research, Pilot scale two-stage gasifier was used to evaluate the performance. The produced syn-gas qualities like temperature, composition and flow rate were monitored to find the effect of different coal feed rates and supplied steam quantities on the gasifier performance. And, the ABK coal from Indonesia was selected for the test as one of the sub bituminous coals. Coal feed rates to the second stage burners were changed from 10% to 90% of supplied coal to the main burners. The results demonstrate that increasing steam and coal feed rate to the second stage burners make the temperature of produced syngas reduce. Furthermore, the composition of syngas was also changed. H<SUB>2</SUB>(hydrogen) and CO<SUB>2</SUB>(carbon dioxide) was increased but CO(carbon monoxide) and CH<SUB>4</SUB>(methane) was decreased. In the case of cold gas efficiency was increased slightly as the steam and coal feed rate increased. Through this research, coal feed rate to the second stage burners was recommended up to 30% of total coal feed rate.
Rheological perspectives of industrial coating process

Coating process plays an important role in information technology such as display, battery, chip manufacturing and so on. However, due to complexity of coating material and fast deformation of the coating flow, the process is hard to control and it is difficult to maintain the desired quality of the products. Moreover, it is hard to measure the coating process because of severe processing conditions such as high drying temperature, high deformation coating flow, and sensitivity to the processing variables etc. In this article, the coating process is to be re-illuminated from the rheological perspectives. The practical approach to analyze and quantify the coating process is discussed with respect to coating materials, coating flow and drying process. The ideas on the rheology control of coating materials, pressure and wet thickness control in patch coating process, and stress measurement during drying process will be discussed.

최근 다양한 네트워크의 융합(Convergence) 추세에 따라 기존 PSTN 서비스도 인터넷에서 VoIP 형태로 제공이 되고 있다. 하지만 VoIP 서비스는 인터넷망을 이용하므로 부여된 발신번호 정보를 송출하지 않아 발신자의 위치 및 해당지역의 공공구조기관(PSAP)의 식별이 불가능하여 긴급서비스 지원을 위한 위치정보 제공을 못하는 문제점이 제기되었다. 최근 측위기술의 활용이 다양해지고 요구수준이 높아짐에 따라 실내에서의 신호 차폐 문제점을 극복할 수 있고, 높은 위치정확도 등을 제공하는 WLAN와 RFID 기술을 이용한 측위기술 연구가 활발하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Wi-Fi, RFID, GPS를 이용한 측위기술을 사용하여 무선이동통신 환경에서 VoIP 긴급서비스를 지원하기 위한 모델 제안과 각 구성요소에 대한 기능, 세부적인 지원 절차를 설명하고, 위치정보의 획득 및 처리를 위한 운용시나리오에 관한 구체적 방안과 제안모델을 적용하기 위한 고려사항에 대한 분석결과를 제시한다. 그 결과 제안된 모델은 무선이동통신의 긴급서비스 설계시 적용이 기대된다.

통신 네트워크 발전 추세에 따라 데이터와 음성회선을 통합하고 PSTN을 통한 전화 서비스보다 저렴한 통신비용과 다양한 부가서비스 구현 등의 여러 장점을 가진 VoIP서비스로 전환되고 있다. 하지만 VoIP서비스의 긴급서비스에서 위치식별 대한 문제점이 제기되었다. VoIP는 인터넷망을 이용하므로 부여된 발신전화번호 정보를 송출하지 않아 발신자의 위치 및 해당지역 PSAP의 식별이 불가능하다. 이에 따라 건물 내 LAN 환경에서 VoIP 단말기와 연결하는 실내의 모든 이더넷 포트에 대한 정보를 관리하여 이를 지정된 VoIP 단말기와 연계시킴으로써 위치를 확인하는 방법 등이 제안되었으나 단말기 이동시마다 위치정보를 수정해야 하는 문제가 제기되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 VoIP서비스에서 RFID를 이용하여 발신자 단말기 위치를 식별하는 긴급서비스 지원 모델을 제안하고, 이를 위해 가입자 위치정보 획득 및 관리, 호 라우팅 등에 관한 구체적인 방안을 제시하였다. 그 결과 VoIP 망에서 단말기 이동에 대한 위치 확인 문제도 해결이 가능하다.
