Enhanced coalescence of two oil droplets with clay particles

In order to investigate the effects of clay particles on the coalescence of oil droplets, a typical head-on experiment was carried out. The coalescence of two oil drops containing clay was observed depending on the clay types. The influence of clay on the coalescence of oil droplets is successfully distinguished from the coalescence of pure oil droplets. When two oil droplets make direct contact, pure oil droplets never coalesce due to a lack of compressive stress against the colloidal force. Meanwhile, when oil drops with hydrophobic types of clay make contact, the oil drops quickly merge despite the fact that there is no change in colloidal interaction and capillary force relative to those of the pure oil droplet. Hydrophobic clay particles in the oil drop are able to pierce through the medium film to enhance the coalescence because particles in the oil drop have also hydrophobic attraction with the other oil drop. With the natural clay, the coalescence of two oil droplets is still enhanced despite the slight delay due to the balanced wetting behavior of the natural clay between the oil and the water. Thus, regardless of the wetting behavior of clay between oil and water, clay can enhance the coalescence of the oil drops by transporting particles through the medium between two oil droplets when they come into contact.

The purpose of this study is to investigate both the experiences and perceptions on infringement of early childhood special education teachers’ rights, and to suggest an improvement measure. This study uses a qualitative research design and individual in-depth interviews that were conducted with 10 early childhood special education teachers. Each interview took approximately one hour and a continuous comparative analysis method was used in order to analyze the data collected. As a result, 46 sub-themes, 10 themes, and 3 categories were classified. 1) the type of infringement of teachers’ rights; 2) the causes and effects of infringement of teachers’ rights; and 3) the improvement measure of infringement of teachers’ rights. Based on the results, we suggested an improvement measure for preventing the infringement of teachers’ rights, as well as respecting teachers’ rights of early childhood special education teachers. This improvement measure includes the expansion of training opportunities, improving awareness of special and inclusive education; strengthening the competence of early childhood special education teachers; establishing a one-stop support system for post-treatment; the establishment and operation of legal organization, in order to mediate infringement of teachers’ rights; the operation and promotion of programs to recover from infringements on teachers’ rights; teacher evaluation and promotion structure improvement among others. 이 연구는 유아특수교사의 교권침해 관련 경험과 인식을 밝히고, 이에 근거한 개선 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 연구는 질적연구 기법을 사용하였으며 연구 참여자인 10명의 유아특수교사를 대상으로 개별 심층면담을 실시하였다. 각 면담은 약 1시간 정도 소요되었으며 면담 후 전사된 자료는 지속적 비교 분석법에 따라 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 46개의 하위 주제, 10개의 주제, 3개의 범주가 도출되었다. (1) 주체별 교권침해 유형, (2) 교권침해 원인 및 영향, (3) 교권침해 개선 방안. 연구결과에서 도출된 내용을 바탕으로 다양한 교권침해 주체 대상의 연수 기회 확대, 유아교사 대상의 특수교육과 통합교육에 대한 인식 개선, 유아특수교사의 역량 강화, 원스톱 교권침해 사후처리 지원체계 구축, 교권침해의 중재를 위한 법정기구 설치 및 운영, 교권침해 피해 회복을 위한 프로그램 운영 및 홍보, 교원평가와 승진 구조 개선 등 유아특수교사의 교권침해 예방 및 교권존중을 위한 개선 방안을 제시하였다.
