      • 네트워크 약리학 분석을 통한 뚜렛 증후군에 유용할 것으로 예측되는 한약 자원 탐색

        Objectives: Tourette syndrome (TS) is a disease that occurs evenly in many social classes. Despite the long experience of drug treatment, the preference is low due to various side effects. The aim of this study was to discover herbal medicine resources through network pharmacology analysis predicted to be useful for Tourette syndrome. Methods: We used Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP) to identify herbal medicines that can be used for TS by using network pharmacology research methods and to predict the mechanism of action. After evaluating compounds of each identified herb, molecular target proteins and mechanisms of action were analyzed, focusing on compounds that are likely to exhibit clinical activity in consideration of the pharmacokinetic parameters of these individual compounds. Results: Fifty nine ingredients such as atropine, veraguensin, and nuciferin among the compounds contained in 48 types of medicinal herbs such as Daturae Flos (洋金花), Salviae Radix (丹参), and Nelumbinis Plumula (蓮子心) act on the D(2) dopamine receptor, which is a protein involved in the development of TS. It has been found that atropine, veraguensin, and nuciferin are highly likely to exhibit activity by acting on the G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway. Conclusions: It can be used in conjunction with non-invasive treatment means such as FCST Yinyang Balancing Appliance with herbal therapy to bring about a significant therapeutic effect, and it will be possible to develop a treatment that can replace drug therapy used in Western medicine.

        글로벌 제약·바이오 기업의 개방형 혁신 특허가 기업 성과에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 글로벌 제약 및 바이오 기업을 대상으로 내부특허, 산학특허, 매입특허의 양적 수준이 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써 내부특허 중심으로만 이루어진 기존연구들의 단점을 보완하고자하였다. 기존의 연구방식으로는 산학협력 및 매입을 통해 특허를 확보하고 있는 글로벌 대기업들의 경영성과를 설명하는데 어려움이 있었다. 특히 제약 및 바이오 기업의 경우 M&A를 통한 특허의 매입이 빈번히 일어나고 있어 매입 특허의 분석이 매우 중요함에도 불구하고 하나하나의 특허 명세서를 추적해 권리관계의 변동을 조사해야하는 어려움 때문에 연구가 진행되지 못했었다. 또한 연구방법 측면에서도 기존 성장모형에 특허가 경영성과에 영향을 주는데 걸리는 시간을 감안해 t-3년까지의 유한 시차를 고려한 확장모형을 제시했다. 분석결과 양적 특허수준은 매출에 미치는 영향은 적었고 시장가치에 상대적으로 큰 영향을 미쳤으며 수익에는 중간 정도의 영향력을 미쳤다. 3가지 특허중 기업의 시장가치에는 내부특허가 가장 큰 영향력을 미쳤고 매출과 수익에는 매입특허가 가장 큰 영향력을 나타내었다. 제약 바이오 기업에 있어서 매입특허가 경영성과에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나오는 이유는 제약 및 바이오 기업의 연구개발이 오랜 시간과 비용이 소요되며, 여러 가지 기술의 융복합이 필요한 연구이기 때문에 빠른 시간 안에 기술을 확보하는 것이 중요하고 이를 위해 기업들이 특허를 매입하거나 M&A를 함으로써 문제를 해결하고 있기 때문으로 판단되어진다. 본 연구는 글로벌 제약 및 바이오 기업들이 최적 특허 포트폴리오 구성을 할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. Most studies of the effects of corporate patents on managerial performance conducted to date have been based on internally-generated patents. However, global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies acquire patents not only from internal research and development (R&D), but also through university-industry collaboration and purchase. Focusing on this issue, our study collected patents from various sources, including internal R&D, purchased patents, and university-industry collaboration, to examine the real effects more accurately. Additionally, our study used a finite time lag model to consider the time lag between patent and corporate performance. The results of the quantitative analysis of the relationship between patents and corporate financial performance revealed that patent quantitative levels had less impact on sales than other types. However, quantitative patents levels appeared to have a significant impact on market value. Moreover, quantitative patent levels appeared to moderate impact on corporate profit. Patents acquired by internal R&D had the greatest impact on market value, while purchased patents had the greatest impact on corporate profit and sales. The purchased patents had a significant effect on financial performance in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies because of the long time required and expense associated with R&D. Overall, the results of this study provide the basis for global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to configure an optimal patent portfolio.

      • 임베디드 환경에서 저전력 인코딩을 이용한 코드 압축 기법

        임베디드 시스템은 정해진 하드웨어 환경에서 특정 어플리케이션이 돌아가는 형태로 존재한다. 코드 압축은 이러한 임베디드 시스템환경에서 메모리와 프로세서 간의 소모되는 전력을 줄이는 가장 효과적인 방법으로 잘 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존과는 다른 접근방법을 통해 이 문제를 정의하고, 압축되는 명령어들의 이진코드를 결정하는 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 압축될 명령어들에 적절한 이진코드를 할당한다면 상당한 에너지를 절약할 수 있다. 이는 명령어 접근 때 발생하는 스위칭 활동이 이진코드할당에 큰 영향을 받기 때문이다. 전력 절감을 위해 이 문제를 그래프 최적화 문제로 전환을 하고, 정진적인 노드 커버링 테크닉 (Incremental node covering technique) 을 사용하여 부분적으로는 효율적이면서도 전체적으로는 효과적인 방법으로 해결하고자 한다.

        인삼(人蔘)과 홍삼(紅蔘)의 네트워크 약리학적 분석 결과 비교

        Objectives : Network pharmacology analysis is commonly used to investigate the synergies and potential mechanisms of multiple compounds by analyzing complex, multi-layered networks. We used TCMSP and BATMAN-TCM databases to compare results of network pharmacological analysis between White Ginseng(WG) and Red Ginseng(RG). Methods : WG and RG were compared with components and their target molecules using TCMSP database, and compound-target-pathway/disease networks were compared using BATMAN-TCM database. Results : Through TCMSP, 104 kinds of target molecules were derived from WG and 38 kinds were derived from RG. Using the BATMAN-TCM database, target pathways and diseases were screened, and more target pathways and diseases were screened compared to RG due to the high composition of WG ingredients. Analysis of component-target-pathway/disease network using network analysis tools provided by BATMAN-TCM showed that WG formed more networks than RG. Conclusions : Network pharmacology analysis can be effectively performed using various databases used in system biology research, and although the materials that have been reported in the past can be used efficiently for research on diseases related to targets, the results are unreliable if prior studies are focused on limited or narrow research areas.

      • 생쥐의 하악 치아 절단으로 인한 부정교합이 뇌경색에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: Although intraoral balancing appliance therapy has been used effective to several diseases, verification studies through cerebral diseases are poorly reported so far. Thus we investigated the effect of tooth-cut induced dental malocclusion against mouse model of ischemic stroke. Methods: Tooth-cut and 90 min middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) were loaded to C57BL/6 male mice, and total infarct area, neurological deficit scores (NDS), histological change of hippocampal region were observed. Production levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in cerebral tissue were also measured. Results: The longer the tooth-cut period, the greater the area of cerebral infarction caused by MCAO, and NDS began to increase as the tooth was cut, and the results were more negative when MCAO was loaded. Histological change of hippocampal cells was significant when tooth-cut was maintained for 7 days. Those damages were thought to depend on the generation of ROS and iNOS in brain tissue. Conclusions: Since tooth-cut increased total area of cerebral infarction due to MCAO in mice, it is able to be confirmed that anomaly of the temporomandibular occlusion can affect neurological diseases.

        Recently, clinical efficacies of the intraoral balancing appliance therapy have been reported by several researchers, and it has been found that there are various kinds of diseases that can be effectively applied. However, studies on cerebrovascular disease, one of the main diseases with a high mortality rate, are still poorly reported, and studies of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD)-induced changes in brain function suggest that cerebrovascular disease is more appropriate as an adaptive disorder of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) balancing device. In the developed countries, the importance of research on the structure and function of the brain has been recognized and spurred on the related research. In Korea, the research on brain function and cognitive disorders should have promoted more massively. In order to regain its former reputation in the Korean medicine in the field of cerebrovascular disease, it should be spurred on basic research and clinical case studies. In addition, extensive and in-depth studies including animal studies are needed to establish the basis of underlying mechanisms of the TMJ balancing therapies.
