Purpose: The authors evaluated the possibility of protein C and protein S as risk factors for retinal vein occlusion (RVO). Methods: We evaluated the medical histories and performed laboratory tests, including protein C and protein S, in patients who were diagnosed with RVO by fundus examination and fluorescein angiography. The same data were obtained from a healthy control group. We analyzed mean activity and the ratio of patients with decreased levels of protein C or protein S. Results: Forty-seven patients with RVO in this study consisted of 14 with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) and 33 with branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). Sixteen normal subjects were also enrolled in this study as controls. There are no cases that presented decreased protein C activity. However, there was a statistically significant difference in the number of cases with protein S deficiency between the patients and the control group (p<0.05). Conclusions: Deficiency of anticoagulant proteins, especially protein S, may be a risk factor of retinal vein occlusion. Examination of the coagulation system may be useful in the systemic evaluation of RVO patients.
Streptomyces sp. YB-9가 생산하는 균체외 ${\beta}-galactosidase$의 특성

토양으로부터 lactose의 가수분해를 촉매하는 균체외 ${\beta}-galactosidase$를 생산하는 YB-9가 분리되었다. 분리균 YB-9는 분리균의 배양, 형태, 생리적 특성을 조사한 결과 Streptomyces속 균주로 동정되었다. 분리균의 배양상등액을 ammonium $sulfate(15{\sim}70%)$로 처리하고 투석하여 부분정제된 ${\beta}-galactosidase$를 $para-nitrophenyl-{\beta}-D-galactopyranoside(pNP-{\beta}Gal)$와 lactose를 기질로 하여 반응특성을 분석하기 위해 조효소액으로 사용하였다. ${\beta}-Galactosidase$는 pH $6.0{\sim}6.5$와 $60^{\circ}C$에서 최대활성을 보였다. $pNP-{\beta}Gal$과 lactose에 대한 ${\beta}$-galactosidase의 가수분해 활성은 galactose에 의해 감소되었다. Lactose에 대한 가수분해 활성은 glucose에 의해 미미하게 감소하였으나, glucose에 의해 $pNP-{\beta}Gal$에 대한 활성은 1.3배 증가하였다. 특히, xylose에 의한 lactose의 가수분해 활성에는 영향이 없었고, $pNP-{\beta}Gal$에 대한 활성은 1.6배 증가시켰다. A strain YB-9 was isolated from soil as a producer of the extracellular ${\beta}-D-galactosidase$, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of lactose. The strain YB-9 was identified as Streptomyces sp. on the basis of its cultural, morphological and physiological properties. After treating culture supematant of the isolate with ammonium sulfate $(15{\sim}70%)$, the precipitated protein was used as a crude ${\beta}-galactosidase$ for analyzing its reaction properties with $para-nitrophenyl-{\beta}-D-galactoside$ $(pNP-{\beta}Gal)$ and lactose as substrates. The {\beta}-galactosidase showed its maximal activity at pH $6.0{\sim}6.5$ and $60^{\circ}C$. The hydrolyzing activity of ${\beta}-galactosidase$ for both $pNP-{\beta}Gal$ and lactose was decreased by galactose. Its hydrolyzing activity for lactose was slightly decreased by glucose, but the activity for $pNP-{\beta}Gal$ was increased to 1.3-folds by glucose. Especially, its hydrolyzing activity was not affected for lactose and was increased to 1.6-folds for $pNP-{\beta}Gal$ by xylose.
사례분석을 통한 공동주택 골조공사의 원가절감 체크리스트 개발에 관한 연구

우리나라 건설 산업에서 주택분야가 차지하는 비중은 2007년 32%정도이며 그 중에서도 공동주택은 67%이상을 차지하고 있다. 수 년 전부터 시행되고 있는 분양가 상한제와 최근의 부동산 경기침체를 고려할 때 기업의 경쟁력확보와 저렴한 주택의 공급을 위해서 원가절감의 필요성은 점점 증대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공동주택 중에서도 공사비의 비중이 커서 원가절감 기대효과가 높고 품질과 공기에 미치는 영향 또한 가장 큰 철근콘크리트공사 분야에서 발생된 과거의 원가절감 사례를 분류체계에 따라 분류하고, 분류체계별 상관관계를 분석하여 제외(exclusion)와 통합(integration)의 과정을 거쳐 실무적으로 활용될 수 있고 향후 다른 연구의 기초자료가 될 수 있는 공동주택 철근콘크리트공사의 원가절감 체크리스트를 제시하고자 한다. Our nation's housing construction is given much weight over 32% in 2007 and especially apartment is taking over 67%. If we put into construction environment consideration, we are having a trouble with price cap policy and the realestate recession due to the global economic crisis. So in order to get competitive power and supply of cheap apartment, the necessity of cost saving is increasing. This research collected the past constructed apartment project's cost saving examples which were influencing on the construction cost, quality and time. We analyzed collected cost saving datum and assorted these in compliance with classification system. By analysis of correlation among datum with exclusion and integration, we make a propose cost saving Checklist that will be a base data to give a chance to use in working level and other research.
배전선로 원격 진단을 위한 ZigBee 무선통신 시스템 개발

This paper presents a ZigBee wireless communication system for remote diagnosis in overhead distribution power lines. The system is divided in three parts in the functional aspect - a host computer module, a remote controller module and a diagnostic system module. The host computer module designed as USB interface transmits control signals and receive data measured by sensor. The remote controller module operates the diagnostic system. Diagnostic system module communicates with internal main controller and host computer USB. Multiple communication channel is adopted for simultaneous operations of several diagnostic system. Dedicated protocol for each module is developed. The system is designed with a focus on low cost and small size suitable for lightweight and small diagnostic system.
Development of Optimal Sensor for Diagnostic System in Overhead Distribution Power Lines

Degradation diagnosis of cable is one of major issues for operation and maintenance in overhead distribution power lines. The diagnostic system for overhead power lines is composed of three parts in functional aspect - a travelling unit, a sensing unit and a communication unit. Among them, sensor detects the defects such as corrosion and disconnecting of power lines. Performance of sensor is very important, and besides, the size and structure of sensor is restricted for installation to small and lightweight diagnostic system. This paper suggests an optimal eddy current sensor best suit for small and lightweight diagnostic system in consideration of detecting performance, size and ease of installation and so on. Proposed sensor has been designed by Drum core structure and can be applied to the all domestic overhead power lines regardless of the cross-sectional areas. Also, it is showed that results of mock environmental test are satisfied.
