외환위기를 전후한 상장건설회사의 효율성 및 생산성 분석

Despite the contribution to the Korean economy the question of how efficiently the Korean construction industry operates has been unresolved. This study gauges and analyzes the overall efficiency and the Malmquist productivity index in the industry over the period 1996 through 2000. which includes the Korean financial crisis. For more detailed analysis, the former is further decomposed into technical, allocative. pure technical and scale efficiencies, while the latter into efficiency and frontier changes. We also identify several important factors which seem to have strong relationship with various inefficiencies. The results indicate that the efficiency measures decreased significantly during the financial crisis and there are large differences in efficiency over the period before and after the financial crisis. Unlike many other industries, the low level of cost efficiency of the construction industry is mainly due to allocative inefficiency rather than technical inefficiency. The results also imply that the portion of institutional investors in the ownership, asset size, and the turnover of receivables overdue have played an important role in determining efficiency and productivity of this important industry.

We design a multi-element photo-detector to measure the size of particles using the diffracted light energy distribution. The scattered profile measured by the photodetector is sampled by a 32 channel analog-to-digital converter. A nonnegative least squares analysis translates the light energy distribution into the corresponding unique particle size distribution. The responses of the particle sizing system are studied theoretically and experimentally.

As the flow near a rotor blade-tip of a axial flow machine the existence of a leakage flow, a scraping vortex and a tip clearance vortex is already confirmed. It is known that the characteristics of a rotor blade are affected by the above flows. Therefore we attempted to clarify the effects of the blade-tip flow by using the pressure distributions from blade-tip to mid-span measured by varying the rotational speed and the blade-tip clearance. Though the influence of a blade-tip flow is felt at even the mid-span in above a certain blade-tip clearance, it is found that the appearance of the effects on a nondimensional pressure distribution is maintained unchanged in any rotational speed so long as the blade-tip clearance is constant. Therefore it is concluded that not only the flow near a rotor blade-tip, but also the relative flow in the full span of a rotor blade inclusive of a blade-tip is similar irrespective of a rotational speed at a constand clearance of a blade-tip.
