We synthesized lithium zirconate using solid-state reaction and analyzed thermal properties (TG/DTA) of starting materials and the synthesized one. When $Li_2ZrO_3$ powder was exposed to $CO_2$ environment at $500^{\circ}C$, 93% of the theoretical absorption weight was gained within 280 min with fairly high sorption rate. Almost all the absorbed $CO_2$ was generated by heating the sample to $800^{\circ}C$. We also investigated densification behavior of $Li_2ZrO_3$ under $CO_2$ environment. By sintering $Li_2ZrO_3$ at $760^{\circ}C$ using 2-step process, we obtained dense product, composed mainly of $Li_2ZrO_3\;and\;ZrO_2$, with relative density of 92%.

This paper is to find determinants of employment for directly-employed, non-regular workers by analyzing 15 types of businesses in Gyeong-gi Province. We employ two methodologies: empirical analysis and case study. The empirical analysis shows that the management strategy mainly with price competition increases the rate of directly-employed, non-regular workers, but the ratio of operating profit to net sales and the existence of trade union reduce the rate of those. The relation between the labor cost and the rate of directly-employed, non-regular workers has the shape of the letter U. Case study shows 6 determinants of employment for directly-employed, non-regular workers;ⅰ) cost cutting. ⅱ) employment flexibility ⅲ) payable ability of corporations ⅳ) existence of trade union ⅴ) voluntary preference of non-regular workers ⅵ) stepping of regular worker. Two different methodologies support that the ratio of operating profit to net sale, the existence of trade union, and the labor cost have influence on employment of directly-employed, non-regular workers.

Experimental research was conducted to investigate the characteristics of various CFRP strengthening methods and effective depth of beam. A total of 12 specimens were tested in four point bending after strengthening them with externally bonded CFRP plates. The CFRP plates were bonded without prestress or with prestress levels of CFRP plate strain 0.6%. The non-prestressed specimen without anchor plate failed by separation of the plate from the beam due to premature debonding while the non-prestressed specimen with anchor plate failed by CFRP fracture and showed the significant increase of ductility capacity. In addition, the prestressed specimens failed by CFRP plate rupture. The maximum load and ductility capacity were most significantly increased. And it was founded the increasing ratio of ultimate load as to strengthening methods tends to decrease in case of the increase of effective depth of beam.

Dimethyl ether(DME) is an oxygenated fuel with a cetane number higher than that of diesel oil. It meet the ULEV emission regulation and reduce the smoke to almost zero when used in a diesel engine. Cogeneration is an energy conversion process, where electricity and useful heat are produced simultaneously in one process. Also, carbon dioxide emissions can be substantially reduced. Cogeneration heat can be used either for district heating or for industrial processes. Furthermore, the heat by-product is available for use without the need for the further burning of a primary fuel. The cogeneration process may be based on the use of steam or gas turbines or combustion engines. However, there have been few models with an output of less than 100 kilowatt. In the present study, conventional DI diesel engine by using DME fuel with generation output of 25 kilowatts was developed for micro cogeneration package. Test results showed that the torque and power with DME were same as those of pure diesel oil, but the brake thermal efficiency decreased a little. Also, smoke index from DME engine showed nearly zero level and NOX was decreased a little compared to diesel oil. The EGR system was the very effective method to reduce the NOX emission in case of DME fuel in diesel engine.

In this paper, a practical controller for a group of USVs is proposed in order to avoid matrix inversion problems in computation. Using nonlinear mapping, a formation composed of nonholonomic agents can be stabilized even when the formation is stationary. Since there is no matrix inversion in computing the control law, the computation complexity can be resolved. A controller for stabilizing the formation errors in the presence of model uncertainty is considered using the Lyapunov redesign method. The asymptotic stability of the formation errors is shown. It is also shown that the proposed controller can be applied to guide a formation to a different shape without modification.
