Have you ever imagined that you could play an internet game against an animal like a rat? How would you feel if you lose? In the present study, we have developed an internet game driven by and/or linked to a brain-computer interface (BCI) system. Activities of two single neuronal units recorded from either hippocampus or prefrontal cortex of SD rats were used in real time to control two-dimensional movements of a robot, or a game object.

최근 직물 또는 유연 재질을 활용하여 높은 착용 편의성을 가지면서 사용자의 움직임을 방해하지 않도록 설계되어 활동성을 높인 근력보조 시스템의 연구 결과들이 발표되고 있다. 이러한 결과들은 특정 분야가 아닌 일반인 또는 고령자를 대상으로한 일상생활용 근력보조 슈트 개발 연구에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대되면서, 근력보조 슈트에 대한 관심 또한 높아지고 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 활용 분야별 근력증강 시스템의 개발 동향과 핵심 기술의 현황에 관하여 기술하고자 한다.

Vision is a process in which the brain and eyes collaborate to enable sight by analyzing light reflected from objects. Vision is also the most crucial among the five basic human senses for recognizing environments. The eyes contain 70% of the sensory receptors in the body, and 90% of the information processed by the brain is visual. Currently, approximately 2.2 billion people worldwide have vision impairments. A recent study estimated that the global economic productivity losses due to vision impairment and blindness amount to approximately $410 billion. Additionally, as people age, their ability to control their vision declines, leading to presbyopia, which typically starts in their 40s. Since people heavily rely on vision in their daily lives, vision problems can significantly reduce the quality of life. Approaches to solving vision problems can be broadly categorized into visual prostheses requiring surgery, sensory substitution based on neuroplasticity, and smart glasses for presbyopia. We present the trends and future development prospects for three key areas of research: visual prostheses, visual substitution technologies, and smart glasses technologies. These areas are being explored with the aim of addressing visual impairments and blindness.

Innovative developments in wearable and artificial intelligence technologies are accelerating the emergence of a soft suit that can autonomously augment a body's own strength and protect the human body. In this paper, we define the concept of "Exoskin," a new concept specifically derived from the "Road to an Intelligent Information Society" (Technology Development Map 2035) as predicted by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute. In addition, we analyze the development status of each element of this technology and forecast its future development.

Sensory substitution involves mapping the characteristics of one sensory modality to the stimuli of another sensory modality. In general, when a person is visually impaired or deaf, they do not actually lose their ability to see or hear completely; however, they only lose their ability to transmit sensory signals from the periphery to the brain. It has been experimentally proven that a person who has lost the ability to retrieve data from the retina can still visualize subjective images by using data transferred from other sensory modalities such as tactile or auditory modalities. This is because vision processing pathways are still intact in most cases. Therefore, sensory substitution uses human perception and the plasticity of the human brain to transmit sensory signals through pathways that have not been lost. In this study, we analyze the characteristics and problems of various devices used for sensory substitution and summarize the recent technological trends in these devices.

Human activity recognition (HAR) is a technology that aims to offer an automatic recognition of what a person is doing with respect to their body motion and gestures. HAR is essential in many applications such as human-computer interaction, health care, rehabilitation engineering, video surveillance, and artificial intelligence. Smartphones are becoming the most popular platform for activity recognition owing to their convenience, portability, and ease of use. The noticeable change in smartphone-based activity recognition is the adoption of a deep learning algorithm leading to successful learning outcomes. In this article, we analyze the technology trend of activity recognition using smartphone sensors, challenging issues for future development, and a strategy change in terms of the generation of a activity recognition dataset.

본 논문에서는 임베디드 환경을 이해하기 위하여 현재 모바일 및 임베디드 분야에서 가장 활발하게 사용되는 ARM 프로세서의 커널 제작을 위해 커널 내부의 메모리 관리 방법과 태스크 및 인터럽트 처리 등을 구현을 통해 ARM7 프로세서를 탑재하고 있고 개발자를 위한 개발환경 (API, LIB, 개발 툴 등)을 지원해주는 GBA Micro를 동작하게 되었다.

There is an ample interest on the characteristics of the La0.84Sr0.16CrO3 Powders with various pHs conditions in the precursor solution for the GNP. In this paper the variations of the crystallinity and particle size of the La0.84Sr0.16CrO3 powders are investigated with various pHs in the precursor solutions for the GNP. It is thought that the higher crystallinity and the finer particle sizes of the powders with the increases of the pH are ascribed to the homogeneous combustion by the increasing complexation of the Sr-nitrate with the caboxylic ion group of the glycine regardless of the small decomplexation of the Cr-nitrate with the amine ion group of the glycine..
