‘재미’와 ‘즐거움’을 구현한 화예 작품 및 패키지 창작 연구 - 로맨스가 필요해 -

This work was created in the process of designing floral bouquet giving happy and fun feeling which led the researcher case study of fun and pleasant packages. The researcher performed image research though packaging design books and image search sites on the internet such as pinterest and google image. The researcher found many possibilities of package of producing humor, attractivity and interests. The packaging design cases using personification combining figure on the package and revealed part of material which the package contains gave the researcher an inspiration of a floral package. The researcher thought out a set of figures wearing tuxedo and tube top dress of which the heads are flowers. The researcher made planar figure of tuxedo and tube top dress with attractive and high quality lines out of card board paper. The important thing in designing the planar figure was the simplicity of construction after it was cut. The water pick was put to provide water to the flower during transportation and display. The application of other types of dress such as Chi Pao or Kimono was discussed. 받는 사람이 행복하고 재미있고 더 신선한 느낌을 더해줄 수 있는 꽃다발을 만들고자 하는 데서 시작된 본 연구는 ‘재미’ 혹은 ‘즐거움’을 표현하는 다양한 방법에 대한 연구로 이어졌다. 구체적으로는 꽃다발을 연구하기에 앞서 일반적인 패키지디자인 관련 서적과 핀터레스트, 구글이미지와 같은 이미지 서치 사이트를 통한 이미지 리서치를 행하였다. 이과정에서 패키지가 단순히 내용물을 보호하고 내용물의 정보를 설명하거240 한국화예디자인학 연구 제35집나 보여주는 것에 머무르지 않고 적극적으로 분위기나 느낌을 연출하여유머나 매력, 재미 등 구매자에게 즐거움을 주고 판매를 유도할 수 있게하는 가능성을 발견하였다. 계속된 리서치를 통해 상품과 패키지가 하나로 결합되어 재미있는 표현을 구성하는 가능성과 의인화된 패키지 및 꽃을 이용한 재미를 추구하는 아이디어를 얻을 수 있었다. 리서치 중에 발견한 턱시도 카드의 이미지에 영감을 받아 작가는 턱시도를 입은 남성을표현한 작품과 튜브탑 드레스를 입은 여성을 나타내는 작품으로 구성된한 세트의 작품 아이디어를 얻을 수 있었다. 이어서 행해진 전개도 작업에서는 턱시도와 드레스의 라인이 매력이 있으면서도 고급스러운 디자인이 되도록 하였다. 또한 일단 절단이 이루어지면 가능한 접기와 구성이용이하도록 디자인하였다. 또한 꽃의 배송과 설치 후에 수분 공급을 위해 내부에 워터픽을 설치하였다. 본 작품은 한 송이의 아주 적은 꽃을가지고 ‘재미’와 ‘즐거움’을 찾아본 연구의 결과로, 카드보드와 같은 주변에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 저렴한 재료로 간단히 만들어 볼 수 있는 소품이면서 나름대로 매력을 가진 작품이 되었다. 향후 한복이나 치파오, 기모노와 같은 세계 여러 나라의 전통 복장을 소재로 제품을 만들어보거나, 다른 느낌의 꽃을 사용한다면 재미있고 또 다른 표현적 가능성을 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

민속 모티브를 활용한 북유럽 스타일화예 작품 창작 연구 - 눈 위의 사슴 -

The work was created by the research for the application of Scandinavian design style to the floral art work. The Scandinavian style is well known worldwide which has been developed by the combination of the traditional vocabulary of Swedish Grace style and new functionalism of simplicity and rationality. The researcher performed vast research on Scandinavian nature and culture by reading, watching related movies and performing image research on internet by searching related images using pinterest site and google image search service. Finally the motives of antler were chosen inspired by Viking symbols and Nordic deer images. And a hunting trophy of simple shape, seamless skin and moderation was designed with a glass ball and two paper-bush(Edgeworthia chrysantha) branches following design principles of Scandinavia. However the trophy is to praise the confidence and strength of Scandinavian deer and people survived and prospered in that cold and severe surroundings, not to show off the booty. The result is significance in two points: first is to expanded the usage of material by introducing artificial material of glass ball to the floral work and second is to creating new expression by simple but interesting combination with well-known and easy-to-get materials. 본 연구는 스웨디시 그레이스 양식의 전통조형언어와 단순하고 합리적인 새로운 기능주의 양식을 잘 통합시켜 발전시킨 북유럽의 디자인 스타일을 적용한 화예 창작에 관한 연구이다. 북유럽의 역사, 문화, 자연, 예술의 이해와 모티브의 발굴을 위해 문헌 조사와 영화 및 이미지리서치248 한국화예디자인학 연구 제35집를 행하였으며 그 결과 바이킹의 투구와 북유럽 풍경에서 발견한 사슴의뿔의 모티브를 가지고 북유럽 디자인의 특징인, 간결하고, 미적 감각을단순한 형태로 정리하고 풀어내는, 단순한 절제미를 가지는 동시에 고도의 기능성을 갖는 작품을 기획하였다. 특히 전혀 다른 특성의 소재를 하나의 소재인 것처럼 매끄럽게 연결하여 만드는 점에 착안하였다. 결과적으로 은빛으로 칠해진 반짝이는 유리구에 두 개의 하얀색으로 처리된 삼지닥나무를 붙여 만든 헌팅트로피가 만들어졌다. 이 헌팅트로피는 전리품을 자랑하기 위한 것이 아니라 살아가는 존재로서 사슴(또한 바이킹그리고 더 나아가 북유럽의 힘든 삶을 잘 극복하는 사람들)의 자랑스러움과 긍지를 보여주는 조형물이다. 결과적으로 화훼소재만이 아닌 새로운 소재를 도입하여 북유럽 디자인의 간결한 느낌을 구현해 내고자한 의도가 어느 정도는 성취되었다고 본다. 특히 유리구며 삼지닥나무 모두가시중에서 손쉽게 구할 수 있는 재료였다는 점과 이들을 이용한 비교적간단한 조합을 통해 완전히 새로운 표현을 창출할 수 있었던 점에서 작품의 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

Effect of Vitamin D3 on Biosynthesis of Estrogen in Porcine Granulosa Cells via Modulation of Steroidogenic Enzymes

Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble secosteroid responsible for enhancing intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, and other materials. Vitamin D3 deficiency, therefore, can cause health problems such as metabolic diseases, and bone disorder. Female sex hormones including estrogen and progesterone are biosynthesized mainly in the granulosa cells of ovary. In this study, we isolated granulosa cells from porcine ovary and cultured for the experiments. In order to examine the effect of vitamin D3 on the ovarian granulosa cells, the mRNA and protein levels of genes were analyzed by real-time PCR and Western blot assay. The production of estrogen from the granulosa cells was also measured by the ELISA assay. Genes associated with follicle growth were not significantly altered by vitamin D3. However, it increases expression of genes involved in the estrogen-biosynthesis. Further, estrogen concentrations in porcine granulosa cell-cultured media increased in response to vitamin D3. These results showed that vitamin D3 is a powerful regulator of sex steroid hormone production in porcine granulosa cells, suggesting that vitamin D deficiency may result in inappropriate sexual development of industrial animals and eventually economic loss.

Implication of Porphyromonas gingivalis in colitis and homeostasis of intestinal epithelium

Emerging evidences have reported that periodontitis can be a risk factor for the pathogenesis of various systemic diseases. Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), one of the crucial pathogens in chronic periodontitis, has been spotlighted as a potential cause for the promotion and acceleration of periodontitis-associated systemic disorders. To investigate the association between Pg and intestinal disease or homeostasis, we treated Pg-derived lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in murine colitis model or intestinal organoid, respectively. Pg-derived LPS (Pg LPS) was administrated into chemically induced murine colitis model and disease symptoms were monitored compared with the infusion of LPS derived from E. coli (Ec LPS). Organoids isolated and cultured from mouse small intestine were treated with Pg or Ec LPS and further analyzed for the generation and composition of organoids. In vivo observations demonstrated that both Pg and Ec LPS exerted slight protective effects against murine colitis. Pg LPS did not affect the generation and growth of intestinal epithelial organoids. Among subtypes of epithelial cells, markers for stem cells, goblet cells or Paneth cells were changed in response to Pg LPS. Taken together, these results indicate that Pg LPS leads to partial improvement in colitis and that its treatment does not significantly affect the self-organization of intestinal organoids but may regulate the epithelial composition.
