Purpose: It is essential for the steel industry to produce steel products without unexpected downtime to reduce costs and produce high quality products. A hot strip rolling mill consists of many mechanical and electrical units. In condition monitoring and diagnosis, various units could fail for unknown reasons. Methods: In this study, we propose an effective method to detect units with abnormal status early to minimize system downtime. The early warning problem with various units was first defined. An autoencoder was modeled to detect abnormal states. An application of the proposed method was also implemented in a simulated field-data analysis. Results: We can compare images of original data and reconstructed images, as well as visually identify differences between original and reconstruction images. We confirmed that normal and abnormal states can be distinguished by reconstruction error of autoencoder. Experimental results show the possibility of prediction due to the increase of reconstruction error from just before equipment failure. Conclusion: In this paper, hot strip roughing mill monitoring method using autoencoder is proposed and experiments are performed to study the benefit of the autoencoder.

Whether Islam and human rights are compatible, and if so, how they are compatible, has long been an important topic of religious sociology. This article aims to examine how Islam and human rights influence each other within the legal-political system of Malaysia, an Islamic state in Southeast Asia. It analyses how a civil society organisation Sisters in Islam, among other human rights groups in Malaysia, has become a reference group that promotes a modern form of Islam. I argue that Sisters in Islam has been successfully bridging the legal and theological approaches to Shari'a not only to protect human rights but also to present a moderate understanding of Islam that will be more suitable for multicultural Malaysia.
지역 특성 및 월간 변화를 고려한 대하천 수변 친수지구 이용수요 예측

본 연구에서는 한강, 낙동강, 금강, 영산강, 섬진강 등을 중심으로 신규 조성된 친수지구에 대한 이용 현황 조사 방안을 제안하고, 조사 결과를 토대로 성장 곡선 모형을 이용하여 총 357개 지구에 대한 2014년 이용수요를 예측하였다. 또한 친수지구가 위치한 지방자치체의 인구밀도와 수계별로 위치한 인구 100만 이상 도시와 친수지구 사이의 거리에 의한 영향을 검토하였다. 각 친수지구별로 로지스틱 모형과 곰페르츠 모형으로 추정한 결과를 RMSE와 MAPE 적합도를 이 용하여 선택하였으며, 분석 결과 2014년 친수지구 이용수요는 한강 수계와 충청북도에서 상대적으로 활성화 된 것으 로 나타났다. 인구밀도의 영향은 금강 수계를 제외하고는 비교적 미미한 것으로 보이며, 친수지구 이용에 대해서는 대 도시 영향이 나타나긴 하나, 마찬가지로 다른 수계에 비해 금강 수계에서 대도시 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. It is suggested investigating method about the existing state of demand in this study. The total demand of 357 water amenity zones in 2014 is estimated based on the growth curve models. The effects of population density and distances between water amenity zones and metropolises populated over 1 million are investigated on each river system. The suitability like RMSE and MAPE of logistic and gompertz models are considered to select more suitable model for each water amenity zone. Demand for water amenity zones in 2014 is seemed to be rather high at Han Gang river system and Chungcheongbukdo after analyzing. The influence of population density is rarely effective except Geum Gang river system. The influence of metropolis on the demand for water amenity zones is higher at Geum Gang river system than others.

The physical and chemical transformation and reduction degree of food waste were investigated in a food waste reduction machine using thermophilic bacteria. The first operation of the reduction machine for grain, vegetables, fishes and flesh wastes proceeded during three weeks. The first and second reduction percentages of the wastes were 98.3% and 93.2%, respectively. The residue of food waste was composed of fruits, fish, and vegetables. The temperature distribution of the reduction machine ranged between 30 and 60℃ appropriate for growth of thermophilic bacteria. At initial stage the pH in the reduction machine decreased with organic acids produced, but increased as the organic acids decomposed by different thermophilic bacteria. In the reduction machine, the moisture content of the food waste was reduced from 80-90% to 10-20% after 24 hours, and the salinity of residue was 0.29% after the second operation. The degree of odor was most high between 2 and 4 hours.
The Enigma of Religious Freedom in Islamic Malaysia

This article analyses how a private religious practice contests the boundaries among religion, the family and the state in Malaysia. It focuses on the Administration of the Religion of Islam (Federal Territories) Bill 2013 which sparked a nationwide debate on religion and the family as it allows one parent to convert children younger than 18 years old without consulting another parent. The question of converting a child is neither new nor is it confined to Malaysia. What makes the issue more complicated in Malaysia, however, is the timing of the event; a parent converts the child at the end of connubiality. This article aims to bring forward the discussion of religion, the family and the state, not only how the family has become the entrance to a religion, but also how a religious conversion, framed by the state, may complete the break-up of the family.
