Rule Extraction from Neural Networks : Enhancing the Explanation Capability

This paper presents a rule extraction algorithm RE to acquire explicit rules from trained neural networks. The validity of extracted rules . has been confirmed using 6 different data sets. Based on experimental results, we conclude that extracted rules from RE predict more accurately and robustly than neural networks themselves and rules obtained from an inductive learning algorithm do. Rule extraction algorithms for neural networks are important for incorporating knowledge obtained from trained networks into knowledge based systems. In lieu of this, the proposed RE algorithm contributes to the trend toward developing hybrid and versatile knowledge-based systems including expert systems and knowledge-based decision support systems.

This thesis is a study on <Kisangdo>, Kim Gi-Rim's long piece poetry which is composed seven parts. The author studied on four topics, First, existing achivement of studies on poetry, 2nd, the structure of it, 3rd, the relation betw-een Western modernism and it. and 4th the relation between his poetics and it. As the result, the author estimated Kim and his poetry following below. 1. It was composed under consciousness of structure, that expre-ssed four steps of progress and a double construction. The conscio-usness acquired significances to modernize Korean poetry. 2. He tried to criticize on civilization through the poetry. But it took a surface of historical consciousness. 3. He contributed to the growth of Korean poetry by the new expression technique. 4. He tried to overcome former ages by accepting the theory of western modernism 5. He made <Kisangdo> on the basis of his effort, the poetry was unattainable to the theory, "poetry of Whole", that got the idea of mataphisical poetry. So the poetry leaves excellent achive-ment itself, and something should be solved in the history of Korean poetry.
Slotted 1-Persistent CSMA/CD 버스 프로토콜의 성능 분석을 위한 시뮬레이션 알고리즘

본 연구는 근거리 통신망(Local Area Network:LAN)에서 slotted 1-persistent CSMA/CD 버스 프로토콜의 실효 전송을 (throughput) 특성을 연구하기 위한 시뮬레이션 알고리즘을 제안하고, 기존 시뮬레이션 알고리즘의 통계적 결과와 비교하여 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증하였다. 제안된 시뮬레이션 알고리즘은 각 스테이션들을 충돌 경험 횟수로 분류 각 그룹의 영향을 처리하였으므로, 각 스테이션의 영향을 처리한 기존의 알고리즘 보다 처리과정이 효율적이다. 또한 스테이션의 수를 증가 시켜도 처리과정이 제한받지 않기 때문에 Busy/Idle 발생기에 적용하기에 매우 적합하다. The major purpose of this thesis is suggest the simulation algorithm for performance analysis of throughput of slotted 1-persistent CSMA/CD bus protocol in Local Area Networks. The suggested simulation algorithm processes the effect of each station group that classified by the number of collision experience. Therefore, this simulation algorithm is more effective in terms of the execute than existing algorithm that processed the effect of each station. This study suggests the method for application to the busy/idle generator.
