        The family of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK) are important participants in the regulation of eukaryotic cell cycle. Our purpose was to examine temporal expressions of cyclins and CDKs during renal development and compensatory growth. During embryonic development the mRNA levels of all cyclins were high, and after birth their levels decreased at different rates. G2 and M phase cyclins, cyclin A and B, decrease immediately after birth. G1 and S phase cyclins, D1, D2, D3, and E, were observed during all stages of development and maintained almost constant levels until seven days after birth. They decrease thereafter and expressed very low levels during the adult period. The protein levels of cdc2, and CDK2 were high during embryonic renal development and hereafter slowly decreased after birth. Their levels were very low during the youth and adult period. Levels of CDK4 protein were high and did not change during renal development. Compensatory hypertropic renal growth induced by unilateral nephrectomy did not increase the leve of cyclins, or CDKs. Subtotal nephrectomy did not increase any cyclins or CDKs in remaining viable renal tissue. Interestingly, Western blot analysis of protein extracts from remaining viable renal tissue showed the induction of a new 40 kDa protein that cross-reacted with the cyclin D3 antibody. These findings suggest that the marked reductions in mitotic cyclins may be associated with the withdrawal of renal cell cycle after birth. In addition, expression of cyclins and CDKs did not change in the adult kidney during active phase of compensatory hypertrophic growth. (key word : Cyclins, Cyclin Dependent Kinase)

      • 어머니 삶의 만족도가 초등학생 자녀 주도성에 미치는 영향

        초등 자녀의 자기주도성을 기르기 위해서는 학습조력자로서 어머니의 영향과 역할이 중요하다. 아동이 이미 갖고 태어난 인성적 특성으로서의 자기주도성이 발현되도록 도와주는 어머니 역할이 어느 시기보다 중요하기 때문이다. 본 연구는 부모역할만족도, 배우자지지도, 자아개념을 관련변인으로 하여 자녀 발달에 결정적인 영향을 미치는 어머니 삶의 만족도를 살펴보고, 어머니 삶의 만족도가 자녀의 주도성에 미치는 영향을 알아봄으로써 초등자녀를 둔 어머니 삶의 만족도를 향상시키고 자녀의 주도성을 높일 수 있는 부모교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 서울과 경기도에 거주하고 있는 어머니 425명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 첫째, 어머니 삶의 만족도에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 변인은 대상자의 직업, 수입, 학력, 가족구성, 자녀수, 자녀성별 중 대상자 자녀의 성별인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니 삶의 만족도 관련변인 중 부모역할만족도와 배우자지지도는 자녀주도성에 정적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 어머니의 자아개념은 자녀주도성에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모역할만족도, 배우자지지도와 자녀주도성 간에는 유의미한 정적상관을 보였으며, 자아개념은 부모역할만족도, 배우자지지도, 자녀의 주도성 등과 부적상관을 보였다. 이 연구를 통해, 부모역할만족도, 배우자지지도에 따라 자녀주도성에 영향이 있다는 연구결과를 확인할 수 있었으며, 부모역할만족도, 배우자지지도, 자녀주도성 등에 부적 영향을 미친 어머니 자아개념에 대해서는 앞으로 지속적인 연구가 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다. The purpose of this study is to propose basic materials for parent education which is supposed not only to improve mothers' satisfaction with their own lives but also to increase initiative of the mothers' children in elementary school. In order to achieve the research goal, the study, first, regarded the parental role satisfaction, the marital support and the self-concept as related variables, and using the variables, the study looked into how much the mothers of elementary schoolers are content with their lives, discussing how this mothers' satisfaction with their lives would affect initiative of the children. According to the results of the study, first, in terms of the variables to be significantly related to the mothers' satisfaction with the lives, of all the other variables such as the mothers' occupations, incomes, educational backgrounds, family members, the number of children and the gender of a child, this gender of a child was observed to have a significant influence on how the mothers are content with their life. Second, among those variables related to the mothers' satisfaction with their lives, the parental role satisfaction and the marital support were learned to be positively connected to the children's initiative and yet, the self-concept of the mothers was learned to have a negative effect on initiative of the children. Third, the study found a significantly positive relation between the parental role satisfaction and the marital support with the children's initiative but when it comes to how the self-concept has anything to do with the parental role satisfaction, the martial support and initiative of the children, the study saw them negatively related to each other. While proceeding with the investigation, the study could confirm that the children's initiative is influenced by the parental role satisfaction and the marital support and that any follow-up researches should be conducted to learn more about this self-concept's being negatively related to the parental role satisfaction, the marital support and the children's initiative. The study, now, suggests that, of the variables related to the mothers' satisfaction with their lives, this mothers' occupational variable should be investigated even more and that how the self-concept would influence the mothers' lives as women and their roles as mothers should be also continuously discussed in relation to how quickly women get their own jobs nowadays and how they deal with their career, childbirth and child-rearing.

        보건소의 건강증진사업을 위한 보건교육전략

        In present paper, author proposed an effective health education strategy for local health department, which was revised from the PATCH of CDC. The author suggested that an health department should follow several steps to have an effective health promotion programs in their community. First step would be community mobilization that encourage key persons and major organizations and agencies to participate in the program. The second step is collecting demographic and vital statistics in the community or for a target audience as well as social, psychological and behavioral data. Based on the data analysis, the next step is to choose a target audience and health problem(s) for the target audience in question. The fourth step is the development of health education strategy for the target audience and the health problem. The fourth step also includes selecting a proper communication channel and educational materials as well as pre- and post-testing. The final step is implementing health education programs and evaluating the process, outcome and impact of the program. Korean Institute for Health and Social Affairs(KIHASA) has developed a model for health education programs used in local health department. KIHASA can provide technical assistance and health education materials to assist local health departments in Korea.
