      • 기술연재- DDBMS의 파트너 ‘MMDBMS’가 뜬다

        MMDBMS(Main Memory DataBase Management System)는 통신업종을 주력으로 해 금융업종으로 빠르게 성장세를 이어가며 데이터베이스 관리시스템 시장에서 3% 이상의 높은 시장점유율을 차지하고 있다. DDBMS(Disk-based Database Management Sysrem 디스크 기반 데이터베이스 관리시스템)의 부족한 기능을 보완 또는 부분적으로 대체하고있는 것이다. 하지만 정작 사용자들은 MMDBMS에 대해 잘 모르는 경우가 많고, 또 정확한 이해를 하지 못하고 있는 경우가 대부분이다. 이 글에서는 MMDBMS에 대한 정확한 이해를 통해 정보시스템을 구축하는데 있어서 DDBMS의 기능을 보완하는김상하MMDBMS의 활용을 돕고자 한다.

        患者에서 분리한 連鎖狀球菌에 대한 CLSI方法과 MicroScan MICroSTREP plus panel의 抗菌劑 感受性 檢査의 有用性 考察

        본 연구에서는 전 세계적으로 표준화된 전통적 항균제 감수성 검사방법인 CLSI(C linical and Laboratory Standards Institute)디스크 확산법과 디스크 확산법을 이용 해 MIC를 측정할 수 있도록 새롭게 고안된 E-test 방법과 최근 도입된 미량 액체 배지 희석법을 이용한 항균제 감수성 검사 자동화 장비인 MicroScan MICroSTR EP plus panel를 이용한 MIC 측정방법들의 일치도를 비교하여 MicroScan MICroS TREP plus panel 검사방법의 유용성을 관찰하고자 하였다. 대상균주는 2009년 2월부터 8월까지 6개월 동안 대전의 한 대학병원 임상환자에서 분리된 폐렴사슬알균 53균주와 알파용혈 사슬알균 51균주를 대상으로 하였으며 항 균제는 cefotaxime, chloramphenicol, clindamycin, erythromycin, levofloxacin, penicillin, tetracycline, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, vancomycin 등 9가지 항균제를 평가 대상으로 하였다. 폐렴사슬알균 뿐만 아니라 알파용혈 사슬균에 대해서도 비교분석을 하였고 그 결과 알파용혈 사슬균에 대해 높은 일치율이 관찰되어 임상미생물 검사실에서 신속 정확한 최소발율 억제농도를 측정하는데 많은 도움이 되리라 생각된다. The purpose of this study was availability for the classical test method. The test were called CLSI(Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute) that was disk diffusion method, the newly designed E-test(made use disk diffusion method) can estimate the MIC and modified broth microdilution method that was standardized. Those tests were observed by MicroScan MicroSTREP plus panel. Target strains were 53 strains of S.pneumoniae and 51 strains of α-hemolytic streptococci which were separated from the inpatient in university hospital for 6 months from February to August, 2009. The 9 antimicrobial agent of target evaluation were cefotaxime, chloramphenicol, clindamycin, erythromycin, levofloxacin, penicillin, tetracycline, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, and vancomycin. researched comparative analysis both S.pneumoniae and α-hemolytic streptococci. The result of the high concordance rates in α-hemolytic streptococci was recognized formally in clinical microbiology laboratory.

        Poly(phenylene sulfide) Graphite Composites with Graphite Nanoplatelets as a Secondary Filler for Bipolar Plates in Fuel Cell Applications

        Graphite nanoplatelets (GNPs) have been used as a secondary filler to improve the electrical conductivity of poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS)/graphite composites for use as bipolar plates in fuel cells, and the effects of adding small quantities of GNPs on the electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties of PPS/GNP/graphite composites have been extensively studied. The GNPs were compounded with PPS to produce master batch (MB) chips that were further ground to fine MB powder (MBg). PPS/MBg/graphite powders were compressed to fabricate 10-mm thick square samples. Composites containing a large quantity of graphite (~80 wt%) were then tested for use as a bipolar plate in phosphoric acid fuel cells. When 5 wt% GNP was added to the PPS/graphite composite, the in-plane electrical conductivity increased almost twofold from 643 to 1340 S·cm-1, the through-plane electrical conductivity increased from 19 to 54 S·cm-1, the through-plane thermal conductivity increased approximately two-fold from 60 to 129 W·(mK)-1, and the flexural strength decreased slightly from 32 to 26 MPa. The fractured surface of the compressed MBg sample revealed well-dispersed GNPs in the PPS matrix, which created electrical pathways and improved the electrical conductivity of the non-conducting PPS matrix material. Thus, the PPS/GNP/graphite composite is a promising system for bipolar plate applications because a higher amount of graphite (~93 wt%) is needed in PPS/graphite composites to reach the same level of electrical conductivity as the PPS/MBg (5 wt%)/graphite (75 wt%) composite, and such a large quantity of graphite is difficult to process and leads to weaker mechanical properties.

        자살의 신경생물학적 이해

        Suicide is a complex phenomenon resulting from interactions between individual vulnerabilities and socio environmental factors. The current review primarily focuses on research into the serotonin system, hypothalamic pituitary-adrenal axis, neurotrophic factors, lipid metabolism, and functional neuroimaging studies. It has been found that dysfunctions in the serotonin system, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis abnormalities, and low brain derived neurotrophic factor and cholesterol levels may be linked to suicide. Additionally, recent neuroimaging studies have suggested that structural and functional abnormalities in brain areas related to cognitive and emotional regulation may be associated with suicide. More research incorporating advanced methodological approaches may shed further light on the neurobiological basis of suicide.

        제1형 양극성 장애와 Lymphotoxin Alpha 유전자 단일염기 다형성 연관 연구

        Objectives : Proinflammatory process has been implicated as an underlying mechanism of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Previous studies have suggested a possible role of lymphotoxin alpha (LTA) gene in the development of schizophrenia and have prompted further investigation in bipolar patients. Association of the LTA +252A/G polymorphism with susceptibility to bipolar I disorder itself as well as with vulnerability among a subset of psychotic bipolar patients were tested. Methods : DNA extraction was done by a standard method and genotyping was carried out by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method in 114 Korean patients with bipolar I disorder and 202 healthy controls. SPSS v18.0 was used for statistical analysis. Comparisons of the genotype and allele distributions in LTA +252A/G polymorphism were made using a chi-square test. The genotype and allele associations were also evaluated using odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Statistical significance was accepted when p was < 0.05. Results : No significant association was found between the LTA +252A/G polymorphism and bipolar disorder. However, LTA +252G allele was present with significantly higher frequency among bipolar patients with psychotic features compared to those without (${\chi}^2$ = 4.69, p = 0.034, OR = 2.495, 95% CI = 1.069-5.827). Conclusion : The results suggest that the allele LTA +252G of the polymorphism may be associated with the psychotic subset of bipolar disorder but not with bipolar I disorder itself. Adequately powered subsequent studies should be conducted.
