미국 스튜디오퍼니쳐 운동에서 와튼 에쉬릭(1887-1970)의 선구자적 역할에 관한 연구

Wharton Esherick (1887-1970) is the pioneer of the Studio Furniture movement which was emerging after the Second World War in the United States. As Esherick began to work on his studio at Paoli, Pennsylvania from 1926, he became enormously influential in the Stuido Furniture movement until his death in 1972. He was connecting the English Arts and Crafts ideal to the post-war craft revival. As the work of William Morris did, in the period of consumerism Esherick's furniture gave a chance to purchase unique furniture to people who wanted a different taste. Not only his furniture is unique and hand-crafted also has sculptural quality which made his followers to see furniture as a different possibilities. His work was influential to the people who followed him after the war such as Arthur Carpenter, Wendell Castle, and Sam Maloof. In the roots of the craft revival, it is hard to underestimate the contribution of Esherick's notion of sculptural furniture.

관광문화상품 개발에 있어 디자인 전략에 관한 연구

관광상품은 판매에 목적을 두고 경제성, 기능성, 전통성, 조형성 등을 고려하여 제작하고 있다. 상품개발을 주관하는 기관에 따라 개발환경이나 운영방식이 다르므로 그 현황을 파악하고, 관광을 목적으로 하는 상품개발에 있어 외관상 뚜렷한 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있는 디자인 개발에 대한 연구 분석이 우선 지향되어야 할 내용들을 다루고자 한다. 디자인 개발에 대한 연구방법은 몇 개의 기관들(한국산업디자인진흥원, 국립중앙박물관, 호암미술관, 한국문화재보호재단, 가나아트)의 사례를 중심으로 한다. 따라서 각 기관마다 각기 상품디자인 개발 방식 특성을 가지는데, 크게 구별하여 보면, 디자이너의 개발상품을 자체적으로 제작하는 방법, 지원된 샘플개발비로 일반업체에 제작을 의뢰하는 방법, 수입이나 자체생산·개발, 작가들의 작품을 의뢰하는 방식, 기존상품을 재디자인하여 개발하는 방식 등으로 나눌 수 있다. 상품디자인 개발에 있어서 예산확보의 문제는 어느 기관이나 우선적으로 해결되어져야 할 부분으로서, 정부산하의 기관 또는 기업보다는 개인 생산업체에서 더욱더 해결하기 어려운 문제이다. 또한 우리 나라 수도권 중심지를 제외한 지방의 경우 관광상품을 자체적으로 개발하려는 의지에도 불구하고, 개발에 따른 제반 여건은 개발비 부족과 빈약한 경제성 등으로 관광상품을 실제적으로 개발, 상품화시키기 어려운 실정이다. 이러한 문제와 더불어 원활하지 못한 유통망은 업체의 규모가 영세할수록 더 심각한 상황을 나타내고 있다. 이에 따른 국가적 투자와 지속적인 정책적 지원이 요구되고, 보다 경쟁력 있는 관광문화 상품의 개발을 위해서 전문인력의 확보가 필요하다. A cultural tourism souvenir is manufactured for selling on the basis of its economical & functional efficiency, traditions and shape, Considering the fact that developing environment and managing method differ depending on the agency in charge of a product development, the aim of this paper is to let readers understand the present condition of a goods development and to present tasks to be done for the purpose of a competitive design development in developing cultural tourism souvenirs. As research methods of a design development in the paper, some examples from several agencies will be taken. Each agency has its own peculiar method in developing a product design. The methods could be variously distinguished by ways as follows: 1)to manufacture a tourism souvenirs by designers on the inside; 2) to request manufacturing to a general company at the supported sample-development expense: 3)to import or self-produce and -develop : 4)to reproduce artist's works: 5)to develop a new product by modifying an existing product. To secure an appropriate budget for a design development is an important matter to all the agencies, Specifically, it is a more difficult problem to solve to a small manufacturer rather than to subsidiary agencies of the government or corporate. A provincial manufacturer out of the Seoul metropolitan area have a difficulty in developing and commercializing its products despite of its will to develop a cultural tourism souvenirs independently, These problems are stemming from a lack of development expense and economic inefficiency. Besides, a condition of an inharmonious distributional network goes worse to the smaller sized companies. To cover all these problems, a national investment and a continuous support are required. Also, a secured specialist manpower is needed for developing a more competitive cultural tourism souvenirs.

인간공학이 의자디자인에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

Due to the industrial development some scholars insist that homo sapiens has become a new race--homo sedens. Since this great degree of behavioral change often cause problems in the spinal column, the appropriate sitting became critical. The nineteenth-century idea of sitting upright position is not considered as a proper sitting any longer. Recent studies by such psychological scientists as A. C. Mandal, Ernest McCormick, and Karl Kroemer show that the spinal column in s-curve with forward bends should be efficiently supported in that manner. Designing a chair sometimes focuses on aesthetic points rather than true ergonomic considerations. Therefore, these result in deleterious effects on human bodies such as lordosis and kyphosis. In fact, it has been overlooked due to the lack of technical and scientific supports. Also, in a mass production, it is hard to meet everyone's need. However, the well adapted ergonomic considerations should meet the needs for wide ranges of people. Indeed, in this study we will examine designing chairs in ergonomic perspectives and suggest additional controversial points and alternatives.

인간공학을 고려한 아동을 위한 의자 연구 : 3세부터 5세까지 보육시설용을 중심으로

This study attempts to suggest the proper size of chairs to be used in child-care facilities on the basis of ergonomic studies. The chair has been essential part of human living since they appeared in history about 4,000 years ago. It has been produced for efficient labour as well as maximum comfort. Though its primary function is to be seated in, they are also expected to be helpful to avoid accidents and illness, to promote health and to alleviate fatigue. For the children of age three through five, who are in one of the critical periods in terms of their physical development, the ergonomic attention should be paid to the chairs in which they seat. This study has examined the behavioral characteristics of those children in order to determine the suitable measurement of the chairs. For the accurate statistics on the bodily size of the children of those ages National Anthropometric Survey of Korea published in 1997 has been used. The goal of Ergonomics is to enhance productivity, safety, convenience and quality of life through studying human performance and applying its knowledge to the design of its technological systems. Therefore, it is primarily concerned with human factors-human behavior and attributes including human psychology, sensibility, human relationship with the environment, and so on. It should be acknowledged that children have unique characteristics of their own. Thus they should not be understood simply through down-scaling the behavior and attributes of the adult, Consequently, ergonomic study for children should pay more attention to their unique factors with an understanding of their physical development.

소경단목재(小輕短木材) 접목을 활용한 유니트 가변형 테이블디자인 연구개발

This is the study about the New Formation Developement, the Changeable Table Design with Units that made of Wasted Wood to use restricted material rationally and to improve the space efficiency in the Table Design. We made some changeable table design with units that made of laminated wood wasted. And we found out the following formative characteristic and physical merits through this study. First, the space efficiency can be improve technically through the unit combination and organic transfomation of the specific form and a new method by laminated wood make the personal originality and the structral stability be built up. Second, there are some merits, moveable convenience and variable layout by the combination or transformation or personal fondness so that economical efficiency and variable of design can be improved. Third, we can remove original faults inside wood like a knot or not-uniform of wood organ when we laminate wood so that we use proper units that have original beauty of wood and can represent mild mood of furniture wholly. Fourth, much more strengthen tensile strength by the reciprocal action among the units that be made of laminated wood reduces wood’s metamorphosis like bending or twisting so that the uniformity of wood can be gain and furniture’s metamorphosis can be reduced. According to changes of nature environment, the difficulty of supply and demand for wood may be happen. According to changes of life style these days, supply and demand for environment friendly material, processing technique and developement of design to improve the efficiency of using space must be very important factor in morden furniture design. So we propose changeable furniture design by using new environment friendly meterial and processing method from this study.

원룸 형 주거공간을 위한 가변적 Wall Storage System 가구디자인 연구

Recently, the studio which is urban housing form is rapidly growing up by new residential space according to increasing 1~2 person households form because of Modern members who have changing patterns of life and diversification of social values. The resident of the studio who lives or uses the space for a work such as students, office worker and soho-jok has various characters by a society nature changes and a regional peculiarity. The studio form and function is getting change according to variety trend changes and their life styles. The role and use of residential space also have variety such as the resident who lives in the studio. This study is to find the space utilization for them and reasonable housing solution in that structure, furniture and Wall Storage System of existing studio which is based on the common life patterns. The study’s purpose is to propose the furniture design of changeable Wall Storage System according to the analysis.

이동 질량에 의한 단순지지보의 동적응답

AbstractThe work presented in this paper is concerned with the response of a simply supported beam under a moving concentrated mass. The moving concentrated mass is assumed to be a mass having a constant speed, but not. a force as it has been assumed so far. A dynamic response is carried out by a finite difference method using Green's function, and the solutions are compared with static deflections. The effect of velocity and magnitude on the dynamic response of the moving mass is examined in conection with the static one.The aim of the present paper is to give an insight into a dynamic response with re- spect to the magnitude and velocity of the moving mass for simply supported beam. 가구디자인의 환경과 미래에 관한 연구

A Culture is not the fashion that can be changed and created lightly. However, a small number of people are creating and leading the fashion for the foundation of a culture. For example, the fashion in Tokyo spreads across the nation, the fashion in Europe, USA and all over the world are under the influence of Paris, California and New York. Now, we should think about - what is the our consideration to be a member of the minority? What is the today's trend and how will be the future environment of interior, exterior and furniture design? Which one is the measure of the value for leading the culture? The answers in the design area are the creating new value and health in various design styles - Minimal, Organic, Multiple, Natural, Intelligent Life Style. Also this analysis of these trend should be more necessary for the space and environment design area of future than the furniture design area.

A2024와 SM45C 마찰용접의 열전달 해석

The heat transfer mechanism initiating the friction welding is examined and a transient three dimensional heat conduction model for the welding of two dissimilar cylindrical metal bars is investigated. The cylindrical metal bars are made of materials made of A2024 and SM45C. Numerical simulations of heat flow are performed using the finite volume method. Respectively, Commercial FLUENT code is used in the heat flow simulation and maximum temperature and distribution of temperature are calculated. Temperature of friction welded joining face is compared with the temperature distribution measured by experiment and numerical simulation. The maximum temperature of friction welded joining face is lower than melting point of A2024-T6 aluminum alloy using insert metal. The temperature distribution of friction welded joining face with insert metal is more uniform than that of without insert metal

This paper is to be illustrated automation in the design of Pumping Station and Draining Station. Program for design automation applying Auto LISP, DCL can be used to design and draw simultaneously. The study result are as follows. 1. Optimal design has been introduced and precise design has been possible using CAD. 2. Dialog design is possible with introduction the concept of design automation, and design cost can be reduced greatly.
