<아홉 켤레의 구두로 남은 사내> 의 빈자리 채워 읽기
권희돈(Hee Don Kwon) 한국현대소설학회 2001 현대소설연구 Vol.- No.14
We, until now, have found the undecided and blanked places in this novel, and so filling with a kind of supposition and memory which we may have or have of it. All taken place by the undecided and blanked places was originated from the structure by a series on this novel, which have the intervals and changes of this time, the diversity in the voices of the narrative, the symbols, the episodes and the transformations of the character of hero, Mr, kwon. These constituent of the creation and appearance should be related with the character, furthermore, we must focus, with the framework of this novel, on the character´s transformations. These transformations of the character, Mr , kwon, go through the three steps. A self-righteous hero, first, was Mr, kwon, who, second course, showed as a snooty fellow after destroying by firing the nine pares of shoes of his own with the truth in his mind. At last he changes to a kind of problem character who we can find his mercy, and sublimity on giving a sneering laugh to readers of this novel. These center of transformation-steps represents a kind of risk about his survival. so he realized not a private problem but a social structure-problem which have bothered him. In other words, there is a process which the lower middle class perceives a contradiction in social structure. The writer wants it is read, in this text, that there is struggling in a group against the social structure-corruption and it´s only a possible means of revolution and must be. It´s a cross sectional view that we went though 1970´s for struggling and a tragic hoping. It´s a looking for the identity of a person and society which is and was deepening their difference, naturally, corrupted. and so the novel, the man with nine pares of shoes, is founded on what should be, not for what must be of resisting against power. Nevertheless, I will suppose that it was and is the writer´s vision that the arden passion and truth of an intellectual class, bring a kind of balance of the period.
1990년대 소설 연구 : 포스트모더니즘 소설의 경우 The Case of Postmodernism Novels
권희돈 청주대학교 학술연구소 2004 淸大學術論集 Vol.2 No.-
In the 1990's, there is manifested to signify the mode of postmodernism culture as post-industry culture's grammar. It conjured up two worlds: destruction and populism. The destruction of boundaries, as it were, it means that boundaries of every division are broken up into be blurred each other. There symptoms of ending the 20th century rushed into this period when there is the atmosphere of being mixed wandering, chaos, depression and vanity. This change in the 1990's resulted in the new change in the face of Korea culture and art as well as life style. the following works occurred in this period: 「When Adam opens his eyes」written by Jang Jung-il, 「who can say who I am」written by Lee In-Hwa and 「Sorrow of man yet alive」written by Park Il-mun. These works expressed the symptoms of postmodernism or ending the 20th century very well. We should examine three characters. First meta-fictious writing in level of novels' form: It has the character of boundlessness between inner position and exterior aspect as the fiction format which the novelist makes. Because it starts to recognize the impossibility of division between what the real is and what the fiction is or what being should be and what being is. This statement is the same situation where there is no illusion of division between trueness and untrueness. Thus these novels are born as overthrowing the traditional novel's grammar which has the rational form. Secondly, dealing with motivation on cutting and fragment: Exception the front part-cutting from the traditional writing, another thing is to cut from the moral standard norm of the society. The traditional writing is focused into the centerlism of the rational writing, while this period's writing is focused into the fragment of the emotional writing. For Example, the characters in these works have no relationship each other, have no weaving into the objective world and wander about alone. At last, the pastiche-issues as a rule of postmodernism grammar: Even though postmodernism methods and techniques give rise to something like the pastiche, the writers made the imitation version, not the patiche version and then their works have the clues to be hurried construction and to be devalued them as a fastfood
