For decreasing cost of cathode in microbial fuel cells (MFCs), activated carbon has been applied to the air cathode to alternate platinum catalyst. In this study, for increment of cathode performance, we heat-treated AC at 500℃ in nitrogen condition to increase specific area and porosity. We tested 3-types cathode; 1) Pt-carbon cloth (Pt), 2) AC-coated stainless steel mesh (AC), and 3) AC with 500℃ heat treated AC (AC500). Maximum power density of the AC500 cathode (1,359 mW/㎡) was higher than the non-heated AC cathode (1,014 mW/㎡), and Pt cathode (969 mW/m2) produced less maximum power than the AC cathodes. Cathode resistance of the AC500 (54 Ω) was lower than the AC cathode (89 Ω), but the Pt cathode (108Ω) showed higher cathode resistance than the both. An MFC with a stainless steel mesh cathode coated with AC500 showed highest maximum power density due to its low cathode resistance.

The Commission of Old Paris, established in 1897, was the first official organization dedicated to preserving vestiges of the past that were endangered by Paris’s urban planning initiatives. With criteria that were less stringent than those outlined in the 1887 law on the protection of historical monuments, the CVP enabled the preservation old houses, which were among the most adversely affected by the destruction wrought by modernization of the capital. The Commission provided advisory opinions on urban planning initiative proposed by the Municipal Council and other relevant public authorities, receiving advance all the information regarding these projects. Recognizing the necessity of modernizing Paris, the Commission primarily implemented measures to conserve old houses designated for demolition by documenting these structures through photography and preserving select building materials, rather than advocating for the preservation of entire buildings. Even in case where preservation proved impossible, these vanished old houses could endure through commission’s documentation. Furthermore, the CVP’s approach - expanding the concept of the “object” worthy of protection from individual building to their surrounding environment - appears to prefigure the law of 1906 on the protection of natural monuments and sites, which laid the groundwork for recognizing the value of the urban landscape.

본 논문에서는 정보화 사회의 출현으로 제반사회구조의 변화에 따르는 여성의 고용문제, 특히 그 가운데서도 도서관의 기능 변화에 수반된 여성사서의 역할과 여성적종으로서의 사서직에 대해 검토하였다. 미국의 도서관에서는 전체사서의 80%이상이 여성이며 한국에서도 전국의 문헌정보학과 신입생 및 졸업생에 대한 최근 몇년간 (1986-1990)의 추이에서 여성의 수가 약 86%의 압도적인 숫자로 나타나고 있다. 정보화 사회가 진전되고, 사회가 다양해질수록 전문지식, 정보, 데이터 등은 점점 증가하게 된다. 따라서 도서관의 기능도 컴퓨터와 동신의 발달로 고도의 전문지식을 요구하게 되었다. 종래 여성적종으로 크게 각광을 받고 있었던 전동적 기능이 새롭게 변질되면서 여성의 섬세함과 유연성, 봉사성, 참신성 그러고 전문성 등으로 해서 여성사서의 인기는 계속 상승하리라 생각된다. 그러나 여성 사서는 앞으로 절저한 전문직업 의식과 봉사정신을 바탕으로 하는 지적능력의 자기 개발이 요구된다는 사실을 살필 수 있었다.
