BELT ROUTING AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT THROUGH COMPUTER SIMULATION

강현대,김동훈,한재녕,김동석,채수원 한국자동차공학회 2009 International journal of automotive technology Vol.10 No.5

Most of the research on safety belt systems has involved crash simulation that only considered a dynamic human model. However, belt routing analysis, usually known as comfort level estimation, is also an important factor in safety belt design, considering that serious injuries of the abdominal region result from the infiltration of a belt into the neck or the chest. Thus, safety belt evaluations using kinematic human models are also needed. In this paper, a belt fit simulation method is suggested. Using the proposed process, both comfort and safety analyses can be performed under the same conditions continuously, and thus the safety belt design parameters, such as the location of anchor points, dummy posture and etc., can be evaluated. In conclusion, this computer process enables a belt system design to reduce injuries. 바이오 아트(Bio-art)와 바이오 디자인(Bio-design)의 변천에 관한 연구

        강현대 한국가구학회 2019 한국가구학회지 Vol.30 No.4

Bio-art is an area of art related to life, and it consists of all creations, combining living creatures with art. Bio-design is a general term for every design in various fields of our lives. In this paper, we will investigate the process of Bio-arts and classify various works into <Fungus, Microorganism, Bacteria>, <DNA, Gene>, <Surgery, Implantation>. We can also classify Bio-design into <Fungus, Microorganism, Bacteria>, <Natural Environment>, <Organism>, <High technology> and look into the current situation in Korea. In this study, the research volume of Bio-design is small when compared to Bio-art, which could be due to the fact that Bio-design is a fresh trend and is still in its infancy. Bio-art and Bio-design, which are fusions of art, biotechnology and design, are some trends in art that have emerged in recent years. They are innovative, emerging, and radically developing accordingly. Bio-art and Bio-design present new possibilities and scalability in art, but they are also highly criticized and garner opposition. It is a concern that humans are dealing with the area of life which some call the area of God. The development of Bio-art and Bio-design depends on how we cope with any oppositions and solve them. The answer to this remains our challenge to solve.

        개념 중심의 디자인아트

        강현대(Hyun-Dae Kang),김소현(So-Hyun Kim) 한국가구학회 2015 한국가구학회지 Vol.26 No.2

Concept based Design-Art is a flow formed while focusing on works not dividing boundaries with concept on top in a transition to content-centered communication methods from medium-centered communication methods so far dividing design genres. This movement begins in a try to create upper-level concepts before works and products come into being in pure art and design respectively. This thesis draws out the definition of Concept based Design-Art through its researches, diagnoses directionality of Concept based Design-Art by analyzing Concept based Design-Artists’ works and considers their social duties and roles. Outcome of this study will help working authors, designers, and Design-Artists grasp the changing phases of design and art, establish their own directionality, and predict how the Concept based Design-Art market will change in the years ahead. Besides, it will be a good reference by which for them to build their own ‘concept,’ consider their relationship to the society and check where they are.

The First bentwood chairs in the world, called “winsor chairs” were made by British craftsman in the 17th century. Since then, from the start of NO.14 using solid bentwood by 19th-century German Michael Thonet, furniture making techniques such as Bent knee, Y-leg, X-leg- were developed based on Llaminated bentwood made by Alvar Aalto of Finland in the 20th century. In the 20th century Charles Eames of the United States studied Molded plywood, using plywood to produce a variety of furniture and during the 17∼20 century a variety of Bentwood were developed. Coming into the 21st century, American Matthias Pliessnig and Phil Seaton worked with past Bentwood designs, developing Bentwood further by adapting Bentwood’s know-how and IT technology. Science and technology evolved and Reholz of Germany developed technology which can mold three-dimensional wood using a new matarial called 3D-veneer, In the past only plastic or metal could be moulded 3 dimensional but now beautiful wood grain patterns can be molded by utilizing this technology. Also this is comparable with the past two-dimensional molding technology. In this Sustainable Design techniauses era, Bentwood fused with IT technology has great potential as a high-tech and eco-friendly techniche.
