센서 네트워크에서 실시간 침입탐지 라우팅을 위한 다목적 개미 군집 최적화 알고리즘

이동하는 베이스 노드를 가진 무선 센서 네트워크(WSN)에서 실시간 침입탐지를 위해서는 침입을 탐지한 센서로부터 베이스 노드까지의 정보 전달이 짧은 라우팅 경로를 통해 이루어져야 한다. 센서 네트워크에서 최소 Wiener수 신장트리(MWST)기반 라우팅 방법은 최소 신장트리(MST)기반 라우팅 방법에 비해 작은 홉 수를 보장하고 있어서 실시간 침입탐지에 적합함이 알려져 있다. 하지만 주어진 네트워크로부터 최소 Wiener 수 신장트리를 찾는 문제는 NP-hard이고 특정 노드에 대한 의존성이 커서 최소 신장 트리 기반 라우팅 방법에 비해 짧은 네트워크 수명을 갖는 단점이 있다. 본 논문은 실시간 침입탐지를 위해 최소 Wiener수 신장트리를 개선해 작은 홉 수와 긴 네트워크의 수명을 동시에 보장하는 라우팅 트리를 찾는 다목적 개미 군집 최적화 알고리즘을 제안한다. 그리고 제안한 라우팅 트리의 성능을 패킷의 평균 전송 홉 수 및 네트워크 전력 소모, 네트워크의 수명 측면에서 최소 신장트리기반 라우팅 방법 및 최소 Wiener수 신장트리기반 라우팅 방법과 비교한다.

트리 구조를 기반으로 하는 블루투스 스캐터넷은 적은 링크 수와 간단한 라우팅 방법 등 여러 가지 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문은 블루투스 규격상의 제약조건을 만족시키면서 노드 간 평균거리가 가장 짧은 트리형태에 가까운 스캐터넷을 형성하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 그리고 제시한 방법이 기존의 방법보다 지연시간을 더 초래하지 않고도 장치 간 평균 홉 수를 감소시킬 수 있음을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 보인다. The Bluetooth Scatternet based on tree structure has several merits such as small numb of links and simple routing method. This paper proposes an algorithm which satisfies the constraints of Bluetooth Specification and forms the topology of scatternet as close as the tree structure that has the shortest average inter-node distance among trees. Also we show that the proposed method reduces the average hop count between any two devices compared to early works without higher formation delay by a simulation.

It is a convention to use 5% significance level when a statistical test is employed for clinical data. But when a confidence interval is used for testing equivalence, 90% confidence interval has often been used. When $1-{\alpha}$ confidence interval is used for hypothesis testing, its significance level is often ${\alpha}$. So it makes a confusion that the significance level is 10% if 90% confidence interval is employed for testing equivalence. In this paper I will clarify this issue by reviewing relevant papers and conducting simulation studies. I hope that it will be beneficial to statisticians in pharmaceutical companies, CROs, university hospitals.

In adaptive designs important components of clinical trials may be changed based on the results of interim analysis. Several international guidelines point out that such interim analysis should be performed by independent experts who do not participate in clinical trials when adaptive designs are used in therapeutic confirmatory clinical trials, and if not, it may cause bias. The international guidelines recommend the establishment of independent data monitoring committee for conducting interim analysis independently.

Thermal batteries are primary power sources for military applications requiring high reliability, robustness and long storage life. Conventional electrodes for thermal batteries are prepared by compacting powder mixtures into pellets. Separator is composed of halide mixture, such as LiCl-KCl eutectic salt, blended with MgO to immobilize the molten salt. In order to increase the power density and energy density, the resistance of electrolyte should be reduced because the resistance of electrolyte is predominant in thermal batteries. In this study, wetting behaviors and impregnation weight of molten salts as well as the micro structures of ceramic felt were investigated to be applicable to thin electrolyte. Discharge performances of single cell with the ceramic separator impregnated by molten salt were evaluated also. Zirconia felt with high porosity and large pore outperformed alumina felt in wetting characteristics and molten salt impregnation as well as discharge performances. Based on the results of this study, ceramic felt separator impregnated with molten salt have revealed as an alternative of conventional thick MgO based separator with no conspicuous sign of thermal runaway by short circuit.

Thermal batteries are heat-activated primary reserve power sources that use inorganic salt as electrolytes and specially designed to meet extremely long or environmentally severe storage requirements. They are primarily used to deliver high power for relatively short periods in such applications as fuzes, missiles, ordnance and other military applications. In this paper, we describe a general overview and research trends on electrode materials for thermal batteries.

Caenorhabditis elegans whose DNA sequence was completely identified is a representative species used in various research fields such as gene functional analysis and animal behavioral research. In the mean time, many researches on the bio-monitoring system to determine whether water is contaminated or not by using the swimming activities of nematodes. In this paper, we show the possibility of using the swimming activities of C. elegans in the development of a machine learning based bio-monitoring system which identifies chemicals that cause water pollution. To characterize swimming activities of nematode, BLS entropy is computed for the nematode in a frame. And, BLS entropy profile, an assembly of entropies, are classified into several patterns using clustering algorithms. Finally these patterns are used to construct data sets. We recorded images of swimming behavior of nematodes in the arenas in which formaldehyde, benzene and toluene were added at a concentration of 0.1 ppm, respectively, and evaluate the performance of the developed HMM.
