        Isolation and characterization of tick-borne Roseomonas haemaphysalidis sp. nov. and rodent-borne Roseomonas marmotae sp. nov.

        Four novel Gram-negative, mesophilic, aerobic, motile, and cocci-shaped strains were isolated from tick samples (strains 546T and 573) and respiratory tracts of marmots (strains 1318T and 1311). The 16S rRNA gene sequencing revealed that strains 546T and 573 were 97.8% identical to Roseomonas wenyumeiae Z23T, whereas strains 1311 and 1318T were 98.3% identical to Roseomonas ludipueritiae DSM 14915T. In addition, a 98.0% identity was observed between strains 546T and 1318T. Phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses revealed that strains 546T and 573 clustered with R. wenyumeiae Z23T, whereas strains 1311 and 1318T grouped with R. ludipueritiae DSM 14915T. The average nucleotide identity between our isolates and members of the genus Roseomonas was below 95%. The genomic G+C content of strains 546T and 1318T was 70.9% and 69.3%, respectively. Diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) were the major polar lipids, with Q-10 as the predominant respiratory quinone. According to all genotypic, phenotypic, phylogenetic, and phylogenomic analyses, the four strains represent two novel species of the genus Roseomonas, for which the names Roseomonas haemaphysalidis sp. nov. and Roseomonas marmotae sp. nov. are proposed, with 546T (= GDMCC 1.1780T = JCM 34187T) and 1318T (= GDMCC 1.1781T = JCM 34188T) as type strains, respectively.

        Transceiver Optimization for the Multi-Antenna Downlink in MIMO Cognitive System

        Transceiver optimization in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) cognitive systems is studied in this paper. The joint transceiver beamformer design is introduced to minimize the transmit power at secondary base station (SBS) while simultaneously controlling the interference to primary users (PUs) and satisfying the secondary users (SUs) signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) based on the convex optimization method. Due to the limited cooperation between SBS and PUs, the channel state information (CSI) usually cannot be obtained perfectly at the SBS in cognitive system. In this study, both perfect and imperfect CSI scenarios are considered in the beamformer design, and the proposed method is robust to CSI error. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

        Adsorption of copper on iminodisuccinic acid modified attapulgite: characterization and mechanism

        Heavy-metal ions are common pollutants in wastewater and are thus attracting considerable attention. Herein, an eco-friendly biodegradable adsorbent, iminodisuccinic acid (IDS) modified attapulgite (ATP) is prepared by graft-polymerization to reduce Cu(II) in water, referred as IDS-ATP. The equilibrium adsorption capacity of IDS-ATP for Cu(II) is increased by 329.5% and 272% compared with raw ATP and non-degradable chelator ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid-modified ATP (EDTA-ATP), respectively. Moreover, the adsorption capacities for Cu(II) in combined system increased by 186% compared with in single system. The structure and surface properties of IDS-ATP are characterized, demonstrating that the IDS moieties are anchored on the surface of ATP without structural damage. In the aqueous Cu(II) (64 mg /L), the best adsorption pH is 5.0, the best dosage is 800 mg/L, and the adsorption equilibrium time is 4 h. The adsorption of IDS-ATP is chemical adsorption and regenerated adsorbent still exhibits high adsorption capacity. The adsorption mechanism includes the coordination of amino groups with Cu(II), the chelation of -COOH on heavy metals (HMs), and the ion exchange. Taking Cu(II) as an example to study the process of IDS-ATP in water, it is beneficial to apply this degradable material to reduce the other HMs.

      • Extraction and Determination of Quercetin and Myricetin from <i>Chamaecyparis obtusa</i> by Ionic Liquids‐based Monolithic Cartridge

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>A short ionic liquids (ILs)‐based monolithic cartridge was prepared and used as the selective extraction sorbent. After the material was evaluated by field emission‐scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM), a new approach for the extraction and determination of quercetin and myricetin from <I>Chamaecyparis obtusa </I>(<I>C. obtusa</I>) by using ILs‐based, monolithic cartridge system was developed. Chromatographic analysis was conducted on a C<SUB>18</SUB> column with UV detection at 372 nm, an eluting solution consisting of acetonitrile‐water (25/75,<I>V/V</I>) as the mobile phase, and a flow rate of 0.7 mL·min<SUP>−1</SUP>. A good linear relationship was demonstrated when the concentrations of quercetin and myricetin were in the range of 0.5–100.0 µg·mL<SUP>−1</SUP>. The recoveries ranged from 101.6% to 104.6% and the inter‐ and intra‐day relative standard deviations (RSD) were less than 5.0%. This method effectively removed the impurities and avoided tedious pretreatment. It provided a fast, economic and effective method for assaying trace drugs from natural plants.</P>

      • Experimental study on the axial bearing capacity of built-up cold-formed thin-walled steel multi-limb-section columns

        To solve the shortcomings of single-limb or double-limb cold-formed thin-walled steel column easy to buckling failure and low bearing capacity, a new cross-shaped built-up cold-formed thin-walled steel multi-limb-section is proposed for columns. The structure is composed of several single-limb cold-formed thin-walled steel C-channel sections. The flanges and webs are connected by self-drilling screws. In order to assess the mechanical properties of this built-up multi-limb-section column and the influence of the slenderness ratio on the column behavior, the axial loading tests were carried out. Three kinds of single-limb column and built-up multi-limb-section column with different ratio of slenderness were tested. The deformation process, failure mode and bearing capacity were analyzed. The SC specimens failed with local buckling and distorted buckling, while the MC and LC specimens failed with local buckling and global instability. For the built-up multi-limb-section column, the section combination multiple is 12. Compared to the section combination multiple, the bearing capacity combination multiple is much higher. The SQ specimens’ combination factor is about 1.1, the combination factor of MQ specimens and LQ specimens are about 1.4 and 3.0, respectively. It is concluded that the overall combined-performance and structural efficiency of the specimens is proportional to the combination factor.

        Expression of DNA Damage Response Proteins and Associations with Clinicopathologic Characteristics in Chinese Familial Breast Cancer Patients with BRCA1/2 Mutations

        Purpose: The characteristic expression of DNA damage response proteins in familial breast cancers with BRCA1, BRCA2, or non-BRCA1/2 mutations has not been analyzed in Chinese patients. Our study aimed to assess the differential expression of microcephalin 1 (BRIT1), ATM serine/threonine kinase (ATM), checkpoint kinase 2 (CHEK2), BRCA1, RAD51 recombinase (RAD51), and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1) and establish the profile of Chinese familial breast cancers with different mutation status. Methods: We constructed five tissue microarrays from 183 familial breast cancer patients (31 with BRCA1 mutations; 14 with BRCA2 mutations, and 138 with non-BRCA1/2 mutations). The DNA response and repair markers used for immunohistochemistry analysis included BRIT1, ATM, CHEK2, BRCA1, RAD51, and PARP-1. The expressions of these proteins were analyzed in BRCA1/2 mutated tumors. The association between pathologic characteristics with BRCA1/2 mutation status was also analyzed. Results: In familial breast cancer patients, BRCA1 mutated tumors were more frequent with high nuclear grade, estrogen receptor/progesterone receptor/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative, low Ki-67, and positive CK5/6. BRCA1 mutated tumors had lower CHEK2 and higher cytoplasmic BRIT1 expression than BRCA2 and non-BRCA1/2 mutation tumors. BRCA2-associated tumors showed higher CHEK2 and cytoplasmic RAD51 expression than those in other groups. Nuclear PARP-1 expression in BRCA1/2-associated tumors was significantly higher than in non-BRCA1/2 mutation tumors. Moreover, we found quite a few of negative PARP-1 expression cases in BRCA1/2 mutated groups. Conclusion: The clinicopathologic findings of BRCA1-associated Chinese familial breast cancers were similar to the results of other studies. Chinese familial breast cancer patients with BRCA1/2 mutations might have distinctive expression of different DNA damage response proteins. The reduced expression of PARP-1 in Chinese BRCA1/2 mutated breast cancer patients could influence the therapeutic outcome of PARP-1 inhibitors.

        Adsorption of carbon dioxide on ionic liquids-modified active carbons and amino-modified polymer

        Active carbons with various particle sizes (38-150, 300-500 and 800-1,200 μm) were modified by ionic liquids (ILs), and organic polymer was modified by acrylamide using a simple procedure, and these materials were applied to capture carbon dioxide (CO_2). The CO_2 adsorption amounts were calculated using a mass balance equation at three different temperatures (298.15, 308.15 and 318.15 K), respectively, and the influences of gas pressure, particle size and temperature on adsorption were discussed. Experimental results showed that the CO-2 adsorption capacity of ILs-modified active carbons was better than amino-modified polymer, and the smaller particle size (38-150 μm) ILsmodified active carbons had the largest adsorption capacity at 298.15 K. Compared with previous research about polyethyleneimine (PEI)-modified silica gel, the adsorption amount of CO_2 on ILs-modified active carbons has been greatly improved with lower cost.

        454 Pyrosequencing Analysis on Microbial Diversity of an Expanded Granular Sludge Bed Reactor Treating High NaCl and Nitrate Concentration Wastewater

        The treatment of high-salinity, high-nitratewastewater was investigated in a single expanded granularsludge bed reactor. Complete denitrification was achievedwhen nitrate concentration was as high as 6,000 mg N/Land the salinity of influent reached 11% NaCl at liquidup-flow velocity of 3.0 m/h, hydraulic retention time of,24 h and the C/N molar ratio of 2.0. Furthermore, 454-pyrosequencing technology was used to analyze archaeabacterial diversity under high salinity and high nitrateconditions. Results showed that the total number ofeffective sequences was 5749 consisting of 5678 bacterialsequences and 71 archaea sequences after denoising andfiltering out chimeras, which could be affiliated to 5phylogenetic groups, including Proteobacteria, Firmicutes,Euryarchaeota, Crenarchaeota and unclassified phylum. Although Proteobacteria was the dominant microbialpopulation, two archaea phylogenetic groups—Crenarchaeotaand Euryarchaeota were observed in this study.

        Fractional order complementary non-singular terminal sliding mode control of PMSM based on neural network

        Aiming at the sensitivity problems of uncertain factors such as parameter variation, external disturbance and friction for thepermanent magnet synchronous motor control system of electric vehicle, a fractional order complementary non-singular terminalsliding mode control method based on neural network is proposed. The mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronousmotor with uncertain factors was established. The sliding mode controller was designed by combining the generalized slidingmode surface and the complementary sliding mode surface, which shortened the arrival time from the state trajectory to slidingmode surface. The fractional calculus operator with fi ltering characteristics was used to improve the position tracking accuracyand reduce the chattering. As for the variety of uncertain disturbances, the neural network was used to estimate the system totaluncertainty and compensate online to further improve the dynamic response ability and anti-interference ability. Finally, thesimulation results verify the eff ectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method, which can provide theoretical and technicalsupport for improving the control accuracy of permanent magnet synchronous motor and the development of electric vehicles.
