Separation of Racemic Bupivacaine UsingSimulated Moving Bed with MathematicalModel

Utilizing a Simulated Moving Bed (SMB), the conditions for separating bupivacaine enantiomers, a racemic local anesthetic, were determined by triangle theory and simulations using the gPROMS software and the Aspen Chromatography package. The SMB model in this study assumed an axial dispersion flow for the liquid phase and the intraparticle mass transfer was described in terms of a simple Linear Driving Force (LDF) approximation. The parameters (a and b) of the Langmuir Adsorption Isotherm (LAI) were determined using a dynamic method. In the optimal condition the calculated concentrations were confirmed by the experimental results. Values projected by the gPROMS software more closely matched experimental values than those projected by the Aspen Chromatography package.

Here we investigate the chromatographic behavior, with reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), of nucleic compounds (nucleobases, nucleosides, and nucleotides) on a C18 column in several different mobile phase additives, including 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafuloroborate ([BMIm][BF4]), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium methylsulfate ([EMIm][MS]) ionic liquids, ammonium formate, and potassium phosphate. The effect of the alkyl group length, the imidazolium ring, and the ionic liquid’s counterions on retention and resolution of the samples were tested. The results show the potential application of a used buffer system, ion pairing system, and ionic liquid as mobile phase additives in liquid chromatography resolution of nucleic compounds.

Purpose: Coexistence of different classes of β-lactamases in a single bacterial isolate may pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We investigated a spread of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates co-producing an AmpC β-lactamase and an extended- spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) in a university hospital. Materials and Methods: Over a three-month period, a total of 11 K. pneumoniae isolates, which exhibited resistance to cefotaxime, aztreonam, and cefoxitin, were isolated. These isolates showed positive to ESBLs by double disk tests. Minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined by broth microdilution testing. All isolates were examined by isoelectric focusing, PCR and sequence analysis to identify blaSHV and blaDHA, and molecular typing by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Results: All 11 isolates were highly resistant (MIC, ≥128 μg/ml) to ceftazidime, aztreonam, and cefoxitin, while they were susceptible (MIC, ≤2 μg/ml) to imipenem. The blaSHV-12 and blaDHA-1 genes were detected by PCR and sequence analysis. PFGE revealed a similar pattern in 10 of the 11 strains tested. Conclusion: This is the first outbreak report of K. pneumoniae in Korea which co-produced SHV-12 and DHA-1 β-lactamase, and we suggest a clonal spread of multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae at a hospital.

Monolithic molecularly imprinted columns were designed and prepared by an in-situ thermal-initiated copolymerization technique for rapid separation of tryptophan and N-CBZ-phenylalanine enantiomers. The influence of polymerization conditions and separation conditions on the specific molecular recognition ability for enantiomers and diastereomers was investigated. The specious molecular recognition was found to be dependent on the stereo structures and the arrangement of functional groups of the imprinted molecule and the cavities in the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). Moreover, hydrogen bonding interactions and hydrophobic interactions played an important role in the retention and separation. Compared to conventional MIP preparation procedures, the present method is very simple, and its macroporous structure has excellent separation properties.

Taxi is one of the representative transpotation method in Korea. This is the study on the method of taxi fare calculation. So this study tries to find out the resonable method of taxi fare calculation. Many research institutes have tried to find out good method of taxi fare calculation. Until now, there has not been any standard method of taxi fare calculation. So the purpose of this study is to provide the best method of taxi fare calculation. This is the example of the method of taxi fare calculation. Both studies of related literature and empirical investigation have been reviewed to accomplish the purpose of this study.
중소기업의 e-비즈니스가 수익성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

E-business has received much attention from entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and industry observers recently. The Internet is flourishing and the World Wide Web is growing at an exponential rate. In recent years, information has become the critical commodity needed for success in the changing global economic order. Accordingly, business organizations have come to the conclusion that they require an extensive data repository in order to acquire a competitive advantage in a dynamically change market. This rich assortment of data must further be delivered and deliverable enterprise-wide in a secure and cost-efficient manner. Information technology(IT) has created the E-business as a vitally important mechanism for the storage, dissemination, and even the analysis data. The E-business has become increasingly important to a growing number of organizations in Korea in relatively short order. The present study is an attempt to develop a more through understanding of the potential and actual impact of the B-business on organizational functions and activities. Expecially, it also consists of an effort to assess the impact of the E-business on profitability. The research also addresses the issue of how the E-business affects profitability and shapes or modifies business activities. The results of literature review and study revealed that middle managers believe that the extent of the I-business use is significantly related to improvements in overall organizational functions and activities. While communication, decision-making, productivity, work collaboration, and business activities are all enhanced by E-business use, profitability appears to be most dramatically improved by Intranet use.
포공영(蒲公英)의 염증성 사이토카인 발현 및 조절에 관한 연구

Objectives The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of Taraxaci Herba Extract (THE), LPS, on pro-inflammatory mediatory. Methods After the treatment of Taraxaci Herba MeOH extract dissolved in EMEM for 1 hour prior to the addition of LPS ($1\;{\mu}g/ml$), cell viability was measured by MTT assay, Nitric Oxide production was monitored by measuring the nitrite content in culture medium. And levels of cytokine and PGE2 were analyzed by sandwich immunoassays. Results THE inhibited the production of nitrite and nitrate (0.03 and 0.1 mg/ml), TNF-$\alpha$, (0.03 and 0.1 mg/ml), IL-$1{\beta}$(0.03 and 0.1 mg/ml), IL-6 (0.01, 0.03 and 0.1 mg/ml) and PGE2(0.03 and 0.1 mg/ml) activated with LPS. In Raw 264.7 cells activated with lipopolysaccharide. Conclusions According to the results above, Taraxaci Herba can produce anti-inflammatory effect, which may play a role in adjunctive therapy in Gram-negative bacterial infections.

User Requirements are analyzed and quantified by decision making models and system engineering methods to select alternative concepts which satisfy the various requirements. In this study, the design concepts for guided missile are derived using Quality Function Deployment(QFD) and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). The design alternatives that satisfy the user requirements are extracted by QFD and Morphological Matrix, then the best design concept are obtained using AHP and Pugh concept Selection.

Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates producing K. pneumoniae carbapenemases (KPC) were first reported in the USA in 2001, and since then, this infection has been reported in Europe, Israel, South America, and China. In Korea, the first KPC-2-producing K. pneumoniae sequence type (ST) 11 strain was detected in 2010. We report the case of a patient with a urinary tract infection caused by KPC-2-producing K. pneumoniae. This is the second report of a KPC-2-producing K. pneumoniae infection in Korea, but the multilocus sequence type was ST258. The KPC-2-producing isolate was resistant to all tested β-lactams (including imipenem and meropenem), amikacin, tobramycin, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, but was susceptible to gentamicin, colistin, polymyxin B, and tigecycline. The KPC-2-producing isolate was negative to phenotypic extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) and AmpC detection tests and positive to modified Hodge test and carbapenemase inhibition test with aminophenylboronic acid.
