The article explores knowledge creating for Christian education in terms of information processing. From the perspective of cognitive science, we start by setting information in the cognitive systems. Next, we discuss the knowledge as meta-information. Let meta-information space K for Christian education communities be K=〈E×I, trans〉, where E stands for explicit knowledge set, I for implicit knowledge set, and is a mapping that satisfies trans : Knowledge → Knowledge. Then we get the four knowledge transformations: Koinonia, Internalization, Externalization, and Dogmatization. The next part addresses the wisdom as meta-knowledge, and meta-information creating as the higher information processing. Suppose that meta-knowledge space Meta(K) for Christian education network is defined as Meta(K) = 〈Koinonia, Internalization, Externalization, Dogmatization, meta-trans〉,where meta-trans is a meta-transformation as functor such that meta-trans : trans→ trans. Then we have the knowledge creation by meta-transformation. Thus, these information processing models for learning imply the respective knowledge transformations at the level of knowledge as the first order conceptualized information, and wisdom as the second order conceptualized knowledge. Consequently, the totally integrated communication with God, from information management to meta-information creating, could direct to the fulfilling of objectives of Christian education.

This study investigated knowledge browsing behavior as the factor affecting the increase of knowledge sharing intention. To conduct this study in the specific context of knowledge seeking and sharing behavior of virtual community members, literature on knowledge seeking behavior, meta-knowledge, and knowledge sharing intention was reviewed. Structural Equation Modeling was conducted to analyze survey data to test the research model of this study. The result showed that knowledge browsing have positive effects on creating of virtual community members' subject knowledge and meta-knowledge, which, in turn, affected positively their knowledge sharing intention. One of the main contributions of this study is that knowledge seeking behavior influence one's knowledge sharing intention in a virtual community. Organization managers should consider knowledge seeking behavior as not only a self-interested, consuming activity, but also a productive one through its function of constructing subject knowledge and meta-knowledge.

Few-shot learning is a learning method that aims to perform efficient learning on tasks that can utilize only a small amount of learning resources. Meta-learning is a concept that learns how to learn, and it is receiving a lot of attention as a major approach that can efficiently solve the few-shot learning problem. Recently, the need for few-shot learning has also increased in the field of natural language processing, but meta-overfitting is pointed out as a major issue in the deterioration of the generalization performance of the few-shot learning model. For these reasons, in this paper, we propose a meta-augmentation-based few-shot relation classification model that enhances the generalization performance of the meta-learner model. The proposed methodology shows that it can improve the generalization performance of the meta-learner model by alleviating meta-overfitting in the few-shot relation classification problem with only a small amount of training data, resulting in more efficient knowledge graph construction and knowledge completion.

This study investigated how meta-linguistic knowledge affects EFL learners’ processing of recasts with focus on attention and awareness. Forty-nine Korean middle-school EFL learners participated in communicative tasks in small groups, during which they received feedback from a native speaker teacher in form of recasts. The stimulated recall analysis was employed to investigate the learners’ allocation of attention and levels of awareness. Learners’ recall reports were categorized into three attention types—no attention, attention to meaning, and attention to corrections—and three awareness types—no awareness, noticing the form, and understanding the form. These reports were then compared between the low and high meta-linguistic knowledge groups and in relation with the recast features. The correlations between the production of the target form and attention/awareness patterns were also investigated. The results revealed that metalinguistic knowledge had a positive influence on learners’ attention to corrections and awareness at the levels of noticing and understanding. Also the recast features both in the low and high meta-linguistic knowledge groups affected learners’ attention, whereas awareness remained consistent, hardly affected by the recast features. Attention to corrections and awareness at the level of understanding had significant positive correlations with the production of the target form. The findings of this study demonstrate the positive roles of meta-linguistic knowledge for second language learning.

Using the knowledge management perspective, this study investigates the top level decision making process, which brought the financial crisis in Korea at late 1997. To analyze the characteristics of a Korean knowledge management, this study applies knowledge spaces for meta-knowledge, formalhformal organizations, and cultural spaces. Implicit knowledge and the role of informal organizations are regarded to be relatively more important in Korean knowledge management models. It, then, suggests the introduction of meta-knowledge mechanisms for the fluent circulation of knowledge.

Process-oriented knowledge management systems proactively deliver the right knowledge to the users using thecontextual information that can be obtained from business process definitions/instances. Existing systems, however, do not provide any mechanism that can properly reflect environmental changes that may cause existingknowledge delivery rules to be outdated. In this study, an advanced process-oriented knowledge management, which uses meta-rules that can explicitly define actions for adaptation, is proposed. Meta-rules are rule aboutrules that support rule-modification operations. Specifically, a definition of meta-rules and a life-cycle for managingchanging contexts are presented. In addition, system requirements are identified and system architecture alongwith prototype system are developed based on them. The proposed context-adaptable process-oriented knowledgemanagement system will enable a proactive knowledge delivery even if unexpected changes occur.

This study investigated the relationships between meta-cognitive strategies and second language (L2) knowledge on L2 reading ability and analyzed the role of meta-cognitive strategies as ‘self-regulatory mechanism’. A total of 108 third-year middle school students participated in this study, and their meta-cognitive (global, problem-solving, support reading) strategies, L2 knowledge (vocabulary and grammar), and L2 reading ability were analyzed. The results shows that support strategies, problem-solving strategies, and L2 vocabulary knowledge significantly influenced the L2 reading ability in the entire participant group. However, there were differences between the two level groups (higher and lower): In the higher group, support reading strategies had a significant effect on L2 reading, while in the lower group, there were no significant variables, and the higher the support and problem-solving strategies were, the lower the L2 reading ability was. In conclusion, meta-cognitive strategies are an important knowledge resource for L2 reading. Therefore, to promote self-regulated L2 learning ability in middle school, it is necessary to repeat training for automatic use of meta-cognitive strategies based on cognitive knowledge resources necessary for successful L2 reading.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how much L2 learners’ meta-linguistic knowledge contributed to learning English grammar. For the study, 51 students who enrolled in TOEIC grammar course for 2012 fall semester were encouraged to explain how to answer the given questions using their meta-linguistic knowledge. After 12 weeks of the classes, they took the post-test and completed a grammaticality judgment task. The results of the post-test showed that the students performed better as a whole, and this performance reached the statistically meaningful level only in the higher level of students not in the lower level. However, this improvement did not appear at the grammaticality judgment task even though the scores of the final exam showed higher level of accuracy. Therefore, it does not seem that the learners’ explicit knowledge proceeds into their interlanguage system when they practiced activating their meta-linguistic knowledge. In addition, the study compared accuracy of 6 grammatical items between the final exam and the grammaticality judgment task. The comparison revealed a wide difference and a variety of aspects of grammar items regarding the degree of accuracy and consistency between two tasks.
