        입체 디스플레이를 위한 LED 커넥터 디자인 연구

        우리 주위를 둘러보면 이미 다양한 방법으로 LED를 채용하고 있으며 많은 분야에서 활용빈도가 높아짐에 따라 LED의 조형가능성에 대한 연구가 필요하게 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 공간에서 LED를 활용한 입체 디스플레이의 조형방법 및 활용가능성에 관한 연구로 LED의 디자인 응용 가능성 확대에 따른 조형적 개념 모델에 대한 실제 사례 연구(case study)와 디자인 실험(experimental study) 수행을 통하여 입체적인 디스플레이를 제작하기위한 기본 단위인 LED 커넥터를 제안하고자한다. 디자인 조형적인 측면에서 LED의 특성은 물리적으로 부피가 작아 소형으로 인한 적용범위가 넓고 공간구성 및 연출이 다양하다는 점이며 연출 측면에서 LED의 특성으로는 디지털적인 제어로 빛과 색의 제어가 가능하다는 점이다. 따라서 본연구의 범위는 물리적인 면과 디지털적 측면에서의 LED의 특성 및 공간에서의 입체적 연출방법의 사례를 문헌 및 웹을 통하여 조사하고 유형별 분류하며, 이러한 분류를 바탕으로 실제 입체 디스플레이의 구조 및 제작방법을 디자인 제안하고, 제안된 입체디스플레이에 입체 콘텐츠를 입출력한 실험결과 및 입체디스플레이의 활용 가능성을 살펴본다. Taking a look around us, LED already has been adopted in various ways, and with the increase in its use frequency in many fields, it became necessary to study on modeling possibility of LED in the space. This study has proposed the connector, a basic unit for the making of screen 3D through practical case study and experimental study on formative conceptual models responding to the increasing possibility of LED design application. The LED properties from the formative aspect of design, its miniature size enables various spatial representation and digital-driven control. Physical expression in space is divided into the representation on the solid space and the formation in 3D space, and the study, development of basic module with the possibility of various shapes are required. Connector design, a basic unit necessary for 3D display making was proposed by the material development study to realize 3D display able to recognize 3D forms by seriating LED existing in space as a dot conceptually. The characteristic of 3D display using the ``LED connector for 3D display`` is its easiness in form composition and proportional adjustment, and the possibility of 3D contents able to be expressed into physical 3D in space. Based on the additional studies on the forms, sizes, and contract methods, it`s expected to be used widely as lamp, or structure installed interior walls or ceiling, 3D media facade installing outer structure, or formative furniture for independent use.

        입체 디스플레이를 위한 LED 커넥터 디자인

        우리 주위를 둘러보면 이미 다양한 방법으로 LED를 채용하고 있으며 많은 분야에서 활용빈도가 높아짐에 따라 LED의 조형가능성에 대한 연구가 필요하게 되었다. 디자인 조형적인 측면에서 LED의 특성으로는 소형으로 인한 물리적인 공간 구성의 다양성과 디지털적인 제어로 빛과 색의 연출이 가능하다는 점이다. 본 연구는 특히 공간에서 LED를 활용한 입체 디스플레이의 조형방법에 관한 연구로 LED의 디자인 응용 가능성 확대에 따른 조형적 개념모델에 대한 실제 사례 연구(case study)와 디자인 실험(experimental study) 수행을 통하여 입체적인 스크린을 제작하기위한 기본 단위인 LED 커넥터를 제안하였다. 또한 이를 통하여 제작된 입체 디스플레이의 활용가능성을 제시하였다. LED 커넥터를 이용한 입체 디스플레이의 특성은 형태 구성이나 크기나 비례의 조정이 용이하며 입체(3D)적인 콘텐츠를 공간에서 물리적인 입체(3D)로 표현이 가능하다는데 있다. 커넥터의 형태와 크기 및 체결방식 등의 추가 연구를 바탕으로 램프, 실내의 벽 또는 천정 등 설치되는 조형물, 건축물의 외부에 설치되는 입체 미디어 파사드, 또는 독립적인 용도의 조형 시설물 등으로 활용이 가능하다고 기대된다.         가전제품에 나타난 LED 동작표시등의 특성에 따른 구조화 연구

        The purpose of this research is to suggest a useful guidefor applying the lighting effects to a concept and the formof a product as an interactive and sensuous communicationelement between product and user when developing adesign after understanding the characteristics of LEDoperation indicator light which is used as a device fordisplaying the state of function or movement of a product. To achieve such goal, I classified LED operation indicatorsused in the current product by displaying type andstructuralized them into nine types in total in order toreproduce such structures so as to narrow the differencesbetween formative thinking and technological thinking ofdesigner and engineer on the design of LED operationindicator which was used as a tool for displaying variousfunctions and movements of a product and to be usedas baseline data for researching and developing productdesign. A structuralized display of the movement of aproduct can be utilized as baseline data for designer andengineer to understand a way of realizing LED lightingeffects and to apply such to design and designing of aproduct and is also expected to bring development infinding a way of sensuous mutual communication betweenproduct and user in another dimension, rather than beinga sculpture or a display device. 본 연구는 제품에서 기능이나 동작 등의 상태를 표시하는 장치로 활용되고 있는 LED 동작표시등의 특성을 파악하여 디자인 개발 시에 제품과 사용자 간의 인터랙티브한 감성적 소통의 요소로써의 라이팅 효과를 제품의 콘셉트나 형태에 응용하기 위한 유용한 가이드를 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해제품에서 다양한 기능과 동작표시의 매개체로 쓰이고 있는LED 동작표시등 디자인에 대한 디자이너와 엔지니어의 조형적, 기술적 사고의 이견을 좁혔다. 또한 제품 디자인을 연구,개발 하는데 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있도록 현재 제품에서 사용되고 있는 LED 동작표시등을 표시유형별로 분류하였고 그구조를 재현할 수 있도록 총 9가지 유형으로 구조화시켰다. 구조화 된 제품의 동작표시 방법은 디자이너와 엔지니어가 LED라이팅 효과의 구현 방법을 이해하고 디자인과 제품 설계에적용함에 있어 기초 자료로서의 활용이 가능하도록 하였다. 또한 조형이나 표시장치의 의미를 뛰어 넘어 또 다른 차원에서 제품과 사용자 간에 상호 감성적으로 소통할 수 있는 방법을 찾는데 발전을 가져올 것으로 기대한다.

        가로등의 조명으로서 LED조명의 타당성에 대한 연구

        The focus of this paper is determining feasibility of environment-friendly LED street light in spotlight. LED lighting has been developed in a variety of areas including street lighting as next generation of lighting. This study, therefore, firstly verified the functionality and eco-friendly effect of LED street lighting as street light source by analyzing the IP-Intelight the intelligent LED street light in the SangamDMC. Secondly, the economic validity shown in this paper was verified in long term use although LED lights in the initial installation costs are certainly expensive in comparison with traditional street lights. Finally, the study determined the feasibility of LED street light in future light sources and effects in economy and eco-friendly environment when LED street light has come into wide use.

        비구면 광학계를 이용한 고출력 LED 스포트라이트에 관한 연구

        In this study we researched a spotlight in LED lighting. Ordinary LED spotlight was manufactured with characterized property of traveling straightness of LED light source, but multiple use of shell type LED, a yellow band has formed caused by light source interference between the LED. Also, there was a high miscellaneous light efficiency with losing light source homogeneity and efficiency due to light source control uneasiness. The study uses aspheric reflector and aspheric lens, so we can control the light source of LED spotlight with effectively and we reached surface light source by using COB/COM for LED module. Furthermore it can change its use by a reduced scale of light system. It has been designed to make its various application from low power consumption of bicycle lamp, up to high power consumption of automobile lamps and lighthouse.

        LED를 이용한 빛의 디자인 발전방향과 비즈니스 모델 연구

        빛을 활용한 디자인 분야는 다양하며 디자인이 빛에 관여한 효과는 창의 산업에서 요구하는 창의적이고 미래 활용이 가능도록 다양한 응용이 가능하다. 빛의 디자인은 디지털융합기술로 개발된 LED 패널의 RGB 색변환 기술과 소재와 칼라 그리고 후가공 디자인 기술의 융합을 기반으로 한 스마트한 아이디어와 소재를 이용하여 감성조명을 구현가능토록 하고 광고 및 제품속의 숨겨진 메시지를 감성으로 전달하여 브랜드를 시각화 하는 통합적인 디자인 관리를 통해 제품의 부가가치를 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 빛의 디자인분야 대한 사례조사와 분석을 진행하고 브랜드 디자인 분야에서 활용 가능한 LED 관련 기술조사를 실시하여 단순 BI디자인의 기존 결과물을 고부가가치 디자인 결과물화하기 위한 적용 방안을 제시 하고자 한다. LED 빛을 활용한 연구를 통해서 디자이너가 활용 및 적용이 가능한 프로세서를 제시하여 빛의 디자인을 통한 LED 상품 개발의 개발 방향을 제시하고자 한다. Using light design varied, and design involved in the light is required design and effect by the creative industries, creative and future exploitation involved in a variety of applications are possible. The design of digital convergence technologies to create a new light RGB of color conversion technologies and panel LED, Materials and surface treatment of smart ideas and materials are based on the fusion of design and technology limits and the Emotional Lighting by making use of implementation. Sensibility by passing coded message in your brands, to visualize the integrative design that manages the added value of products to improve. In this study, in light of the design world gives you an example of brand design and conduct their investigation and analysis available light in the field of technology related to conducting a search just application of unique design of high-value design efforts to strengthen the existing outcome and attempts to propose. Through research, utilization and applications have risen by a designer who uses light processor designs of lights, putting up a possible through creativity are developing LED products to propose the development of further direction.

        수동적 적외선 열화상 기법을 적용한 120W급 LED조명등 건전성 평가

        As energy conservation and environmental issues are emerging as a hot topic around the world, consumers are demanding high-efficiency, eco-friendly products. In this study, the author proposed 120W LED lighting system that replace metal halide lamp (MHL) which is currently used in the industry. Furthermore, it would be possible to provide a perfect opportunity for Korea to rise as a global leader in the LED lighting industry through soundness evaluation of the LED lighting system that is applied.

        엔지니어링 플라스틱의 LED조명 방열판 적용

        As an advance study for the development of a heat sink for special purpose high power illumination, an investigation was made to find feasibility for the application of copper plated EP to a heat sink of small LED light of less than 10W installed in commercial product. In this study, the plated heat sink with EP copper was fabricated for the conventional LED light. It was used actually for finding heat radiation property and effectiveness of the heat sink accompanied with measurement of luminous intensity. The heat is radiated by transfer and dissipation only through the copper plated surface due to extremely low heat conductivity of EP in case of EP heat sink; however the total area of the plate plays the function of heat transfer as well as heat radiation in case of the aluminum heat sink. It seems that the volume difference of heat radiating material is so big that the temperature P₁ is 9.0~12.3% higher in 3W and 42.7~54.0% higher in case of 6W volume difference of heat radiating material is so big that the temperature P₁ is 9.0~12.3% higher in 3W and 42.7~54.0% higher in case of 6W even though heat transfer rate of copper is approximately 1.9 times higher than that of aluminum. It was thought that this is useful to utilize for heat sink for low power LED light with the low heating rate. Also, the illumination could be greatly influenced by the surrounding temperature of the place where it is installed. Therefore, it seems that the illumination installation environment must be taken into consideration when selecting illumination. Further study was expected on order to aims at development of an exterior surface itself made into heat radiation plate by application of this technology in future.

        광섬유와 LED를 활용한 마카쥬(marquage) 기법의 스마트 토트백 개발

        The purpose of this study was to develop smart bags that combining fashion-specific trends and smart information technologies such as light-emitting diodes(LED) and optic fibers by grafting marquage techniques that have recently become popular as part of eco-fashion. We applied e-textiles by designing leather tote bags that could show off LED luminescence. A total of two tote bags, a white-colored peacock design and a black-colored paisley design, divided the LED's light-emitting method into two types, incremental lighting and random light-emission to suit each design, and the locations of the optical fibers were also reversed depending upon the design. The production of circuits for the LEDs and optical fibers was based on the design, and a flexible conductive fabric was laser-cut instead of wire line and attached to the circuit-line location. A separate connector was underwent three-dimensional(3D)-modeling and was connected to high-luminosity LEDs and optic fiber bundles. The optical fiber logo part expressed a subtle image using a white-colored LED, which did not offset the LED's sharp luminous effects, suggesting that using LEDs with fiber optics allowed for the expression of each in harmony without being heterogeneous. Overall, the LEDs and fiber optic fabric were well-harmonized in the fashion bag using marquage techniques, and there was no sense of it being a mechanical device. Also, the circuit part was made of conductive fabric, which is an e-textile product that feels the same as a thin, flexible fabric. The study confirmed that the bag was developed as a smart wearable product that could be used in everyday life.

        서울도심의 인터렉티브 엘이디 시스템이 도시환경디자인에 미치는 영향과 효과적인 개선 방향에 관한 연구 -Media Facade를 중심으로-

        본 연구는 서울 도심의 인터렉티브 LED 시스템 이 도시 디자인 환경에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대해 문헌고찰 및 국·내외 사례를 비교 분석하고 설문조사 방법을 사용하여 선호도 및 개선점을 찾아 새로운 개선 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 조사결과 서울의 인터렉티브 LED 시스템이 구축되어야할 방향의 우선순위는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 첫째, 서울만의 독창적인 아름다움을 가지고 Identity를 구축해 나가야 한다. 둘째, 사용자의 감성을 자극하고 재미를 제공하기 위해 사용자가 참여 할 수 있는 인터렉션을 고려해야 한다. 셋째, 도시 환경디자인을 고려해 주변 건축물과 조화를 이뤄야 한다. 넷째, 에너지 소비율이 낮고 고효율의 친환경 작품이어야 한다. 다섯째, 사람들의 눈을 편하게 하고 안정감을 주기위해 움직임과 칼라를 고려해야 한다. 서울시의 대표적인 미디어파사드 작품들에 대한 설문 평가에서는 아름다움(Beauty) 측면에서는 완성도가 높으나 서울의 정체성(Identity)이나 친환경적인 요소를 잘 포함하지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며 특히 참여성이 부족한 것으로 조사되었다. This research, through comprehensive study on the literature, comparative research on relevant cases at home and abroad, and survey, aims to evaluate the effects of Interactive LED System of downtown Seoul has on city environment design, identify preference and areas for improvement, and ultimately present an effective approach to upgrade the system. The research results show that the steps to build Seoul`s interactive LED system should be prioritized as follows. First, identity should be constructed based on Seoul`s unique beauty. Second, in order to stimulate users` sensitivity and provide fun, the system should be directed in such a way to encourage users to participate. Third, the system, considering city environment design, should be in harmony with surrounding structures. Fourth, it should be environmentally friendly with high energy efficiency. Fifth, movement and color should be taken into account not only to make our eyes comfortable but also to give stability. The survey on the major works of media facade in Seoul has indicated that those works are of near perfection in terms of beauty, but leave something to be desired in terms of Seoul`s identity and being environmentally friendly. Especially, the works lack user participation.
