        스틸-알루미늄 복합 프레임을 갖는 커튼월의 내화성능에 관한 실험적 연구

        Aluminum has been widely used as frame materials in the curtain walls. Recently, use of steel as a curtain wall frame is being considered due to its higher strength and thermal resistance than aluminum. In this study, fire tests on the basis of EN 13830 were performed with aluminum and steelaluminum hybrid curtain walls. From the tests, fire resistance integrity, thermal insulation, and radiation properties were evaluated for both systems and compared. According to the test results, the steelaluminum hybrid curtain wall showed better fire-performance than the typical aluminum curtain wall for the fire resistance integrity and radiation properties. Although, the fire resistance performance for the insulation property was 6 min for both the two frames, the collapses were occurred at 36 min for the steel-aluminum hybrid curtain wall and at 13 min for the aluminum hybrid curtain wall. 현재까지 알루미늄은 커튼월의 프레임 재료로서 광범위하게 사용되어 왔다. 최근에 건축물의 초고층화와 더불어 커튼월의 프레임 재료로서 알루미늄에 비해 강도와 열 저항능력이 큰 스틸에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 알루미늄 커튼월과 스틸-알루미늄 복합 커튼월에 대한 내화성능을 EN 13830에 근거하여 차염성, 차열성 및 복사열 차단성능에 대하여 평가하였다. 실험결과, 알루미늄 커튼월에 비해스틸-알루미늄 복합 프레임 커튼월의 차염성능은 15분, 복사열에 대한 성능은 13분 상향 평가되었다. 프레임의 붕괴는 스틸-알루미늄 복합 프레임의 경우 36분, 알루미늄 커튼월의 경우 13분이었으나, 차열성능은내화유리의 온도에 의해 모두 6분으로 평가되었다.

        커튼월의 내화 성능평가에 관한 실험적 연구

        Technologies on energy saving and materials used in curtain walls have progressed with increase of high-rise and large buildings. However, there is little study to explain fire resistance performance of whole system of the curtain walls since the curtain walls are classified as non-structural members in Korean Building Codes. Aluminum has been widely used as frame materials in the curtain walls. Recently, use of steel as the curtain wall frame is increasing due to its higher strength and thermal resistance as compared with aluminum frame. In this study, fire tests on the basis of EN 13830 were performed with aluminum and steel curtain walls. From the tests, fire resistance integrity, thermal insulation, and radiation properties were evaluated for both systems and compared. The results showed that the fire resistance performance of steel curtain wall was higher than that of aluminum curtain wall, and the properties of glass and sealants were important factors in the fire resistance of the curtain walls.

        커튼월 공사의 경제성 제고를 위한 설계 · 시공단계별 사업관리 방안에 관한 연구

        The curtain wall construction applied on high-rise building facades in Korea became generalized, but specialty of the CMr(Construction Manager) who needs to perform economical project management with specialty in the curtain wall construction is still lacking. Therefore, this study performed about the business management plan of the design and construction phase for profitability provision of the curtain wall construction. This study analyzed the structure design standard of the curtain wall, researched economical design alternatives, and analyzed the Mock-up test of 16 curtain wall projects that were recently conducted. Based on the research results, this study suggested items to be confirmed at the time of inspecting the structural design by curtain wall system, improvement method of the section properties for economical efficiency of sections, and ways to improve the distance between anchor point and sleeve or stack joint. Also, this study classified causative factors of the difference in the curtain wall mock-up test deflection value and the design deflection value into, 1)problem in the member connections, 2)problem in manufacturing the structure, 3)problem in the structure analysis and 4)problem of assumptions at the time of designing the structure, and suggested a project management strategy for CMr to secure economic feasibility and quality of the curtain wall.

        건물일체형 태양광(BIPV) 발전형 커튼월의 신뢰성 검증을 위한 실대형 성능 평가에 관한 실험적 연구

        Purpose: The Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) module is a module that applied building as curtainwell and acts as a building exterior while simultaneously producing electricity. BIPV modules can be used in various forms (curtain wall, roofing material, etc.), Among them, the BIPV curtain wall is an actively being developed building material that can effectively receive sunlight by replacing the building envelope. BIPV Curtain wall should simultaneously have reliability as both building material and PV module because the BIPV curtain walls are directly exposed to the harsh environment and cause building exterior damaged. Method: Through the analysis of domestic and international standards, the BIPV curtain wall full scale evaluation method is derived, and the method is verified by practical full scale evaluation. Result: The BIPV curtain wall performance evaluation method was developed and in order to verify the validity, we built BIPV Mock-up which simulated actual construction. Structural performance was evaluated through air infiltration and exfiltration test, water penetration test, wind pressure test and structural deformation test. Electrical continuity test and insulation test were performed to evaluate the electrical performance. In addition, performance of the module applied to the mock-up was evaluated by comparing power generation before and after each tests.

      • 초고층 커튼월의 열성능 해석 기법 연구

        The curtain wall is presently being adopted widely in high-rise buildings because of its several merits in many aspects. Curtain walls, however, also have problems, such as thermal efficiency and moisture condensation, especially in countries where there are four seasons like Korea, because of wide glazing windows and metal frames that have high thermal conductivity. Many researchers have tried to predict the surface temperature of windows or curtain walls precisely. But most of the research has focused on small-scale window rather than large-scale curtain walls. Thus, a study on the comparison between a computer simulation and a mock-up test using a large-scale thermal chamber for the curtain walls is needed. There are two main objectives in this study: first, to understand the reasons for the differences between the results of the thermal mock-up tests and those of the simulations: second, to understand the differences in the simulation methods. For 12 curtain walls, the mean temperature difference between computer simulations and the mock-up tests was about 2.6℃. The simulation method (NFRC) considering convection and radiation showed closer result to the mock-up test than conventional simulation method.

        커튼월의 단열 향상 및 결로 방지를 위한 통기구조 적용방안 연구

        Curtain-wall systems have been widely applied to buildings because of their lightweight and constructability characteristics. However, as curtain-wall systems include many building materials, vapor barriers can become damaged and condensation can occur. Due to the material properties of stone curtain-walls, the external appearance and structure of a building could be damaged and the insulating performance of the curtain-wall could be worse. Natural ventilation using an air cavity in a curtain-wall is expected to be effective for the prevention of condensation in inner walls and for the reduction of building cooling energy use in the summer. The purpose of this experimental study is to analyze the influence of a ventilated cavity on the insulating performance of a curtain-wall and the ventilated cavity depth and ratio of top opening needed to prevent condensation in a curtain-wall.

        커튼월 외피시스템 벽체부의 전열특성에 관한 실험적 연구

        The aim of this study is to know the heat transmission feature of fastening systems in used light-heavy curtain wall. The heat performance of curtain wall materials is measured by comparing convective heating system with floor radiant heating system through the scale-down model experiment and the use of insulation pad is verified for the improvement of insulation performance. In this experiment, it is measured the surface temperature of structure materials consisting of two types of curtain wall system by changing indoor room temperature into 18℃, 20℃, 22℃, 24℃, 26℃, respectively. One is general curtain wall building with the convective heating system, and the one is high-rise curtain wall building with the floor radiant heating system.The measurement for surface temperature difference according to the use of insulation devices are accomplished and the performance of insulation devices were evaluated. As the result of this study, the temperature difference of each materials are higher with the use of insulation devices than without that of it.

        품질기능전개 및 유전 알고리즘을 통합한 금속커튼월의 품질-비용 최적화 시스템 개발

        This paper presents a tool called Quality-Cost optimization system, which integrates Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Quality Function Deployment (QFD), for tradeoff between quality and cost of the unitized metal curtain-wall unit. A construction owner as the external customer pursues to maximize the quality of the curtain-wall unit. However, the contractor as the internal customer pursues to minimize the cost involved in designing, manufacturing and installing the curtain-wall unit. It is crucial for project manager to find the tradeoff point which satisfies the conflicting interests pursued by the both parties. The system would be beneficial to establish a quality plan satisfying the both parties. Survey questionnaires were administered to the external customer who have an experience of project installing curtain-wall, the architects who are the independent assessor to obtain, and the internal customer who were involved in curtain-wall design and installation. The Customer Requirements (CRs) and their importance weights, the relationship between Customer Requirements and Technical Attributes (TAs) consisting of a curtain-wall unit, and the cost ratios of each components consisting curtain-wall unit are obtained from the three groups mentioned previously. The data obtained from the surveys were used as the QFD input data to compute the Owner Satisfaction (OS) and Contractor Satisfaction(CS). Multi-objective optimization method using GA is applied to optimize resource allocation under limited budget when multi-objectives, OS and CS, are pursued at the same time. The deterministic multi-objective optimization method using GA and QFD is extended to stochastic model to better deal with the uncertainties of QFD input data and the variability of QFD output data. A case study demonstrates the system and verifies the system conformance.

        AHP기법을 이용한 상업건물 이미지에 따른 외벽유형과 외장재료 선택에 관한 연구

        Generally, the building form, the curtain-wall type, and the exterior material are influence on the building images. Especially, the commercial building is decided the value by the building images. So, if the image about the curtain-wall type and the exterior material are evaluated objectively, designer should be realize the suitable image, reduce the unnecessary remodeling, and prepare the easy plan about improvement and change of images.The purpose of this study is provided the foundation of image-evaluation in commercial buildings as one of the study methods. This study used the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) to understand the degree of feel about the image of commercial building. And the progress is as follows : At first, curtain-wall and exterior material of the commercial buildings were created by the previous study. Secondary, the image that suitable in commercial building and the material that suitable in building image were selected. Thirdly, the image and the material were graded and making simulation. Finally, the survey was accomplished by the simulation data and analyzed by the SPSS & Expert Choice(AHP program). The results of this study were as follows :The first, the degree of feel about the image of commercial building is able to quantify by using the AHP . The second, the image words that commercial building are 'polished - favorite - prominent' in turns. The third, the commercial buildings are represented by the mullion type of curtain-wall types and the metal of the exterior material. Finally, these results can give a method to quantify images of buildings, replace curtain-wall and exterior material for improvement building-images and remodeling buildings. In future, architectural designers can design buildings by this process.
