        윤세원,김태열,최석주,Yoon Se-Won,Kim Tae-Youl,Choi Suk-Joo 대한물리치료학회 2003 대한물리치료학회지 Vol.15 No.3

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of aquatic-exercise on muscle atrophy which induced by steroid injection. The forty-eight Sparague-Dawley adult male rats were assigned to the 4 groups; Group I (distilled water injection), Group II (steroid injection), Group III (distilled water injection with aquatic exercise), Group IV (steroid injection with aquatic exercise). We observed their body weight, muscle relative weight, myofibrillar protein content. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Body weight was decreased rapidly on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups after 2 weeks (p<0.01), but that was almost recovered as before test on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise. 2. The relative weight of gastrocnemius muscles was decreased on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups. however, Decrease of it on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise for steroid injection group was fallen. There was very significant difference after 4 weeks (p<0.01). 3. Myofibrillar protein content of gastrocnemius muscles was decreased on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups. however, Decrease of it on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise for steroid injection group was fallen. There was significant difference after 4 weeks (p<0.05).

        신현경(Sin Hyun-Kyung),김종혁(Kim Jong-Hyuck),김수경(Kim Soo-Kyung) 한국체육과학회 2008 한국체육과학회지 Vol.17 No.2

This study focuses on the effect of Aquatic-walking exercise on the Stress Hormone and Mood State Changes. This study was performed for the purpose of providing the basic data to develop adequate exercise program and prescription for decreasing the rate of Women's obesity and Coronary Artery Disease by operating exercise program targeted on 20 middle-aged women with 30% over body fat rate. The Aquatic-walking excercise for selected targets had been proceeded for 8 weeks, 3 times in a week. This exercise program was required total 40 minutes and consisted free gymnastics and stretching for 5 minutes as Warm-up , Aquatic-walking for 30 minutes as Main exercise and again free gymnastics and stretching for 5 minutes as cooling-down. The intensity was elevated by wearing Polar on exercising. The intensity was at 40~50% HRmax from the first to second weeks, 50~60% HRmax from the third and sixth weeks and 60~70% HRmax from the seventh and eighth weeks. The result of performed study was as below. First, there were significant differences(P<.001) on all of the factors like Stress Hormone, Cortisol, Epinephrine and Norepinephrine. Second, there were significant differences on Insecurity, Depression, Anger, Vitality and Fatigue among Mood State Changes. But there was no significant difference just on Confusion. Therefore, the 8 weeks' Aquatic-walking program had positive effects on almost every factor of Stress Hormones and Mood State Changes of middle-aged women with obesity. Through this result, it is considered that the program is able to positively affect on Weight Loss and prevention of Coronary Artery Disease and the continuous study on this is needed.

수중운동 프로그램이 류마티스 관절염 환자의 사지 피부두겹 두께와 둘레에 미치는 영향

        김종임,김인자,이은옥 대한류마티스 건강전문학회 1995 근관절건강학회지 Vol.2 No.2

Many arthritis patients experience weak-ness of muscles in extremities mainly due to disuse atrophy and weight gain because of the limited activities and exercises. This study examines the effects of the 6-week aquatic-exercise program on the body fat and the muscle of the rheumatoid arthritis patients. Seventeen patients in the experimental group and 18 in the control group were assigned depending on their preference and physical condition, These patients had more than 3 points of pain out of 10, deformities in knee, wrist and ankle joints. The amount 6f aquatic exercise increases from 35 minutes. in the first week to 60 minutes in the 6th week. In the resting period they discussed their own experiences about exercise, personal and family affairs, and performed some recreation programs in order to increase the self-efficacy and promote the relationship with other patients by the group activities. Skinfold thickness and circumferences of both extremities were measured before and after experiment to compare the difference. For testing the body fat Saham Model was used. Prior to the experiment two group's body weight, skinfold thickness and skin circumferences were not significantly different which indicates the homogeneity of two groups. Body weight and most parts of skinfold thickness of the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group after 6-week aquatic exercise program, Circumference was not significantly lower than the control after the program. These findings indicate the increase of muscle sizes and the reduction of the body fat. Therefore a more active application of aquatic exercise into a variety of clients is strongly suggested.

Unexpected burst of new data on vascular plantsflora for the Lesser KurilRidge and the whole Kuril archipelago

        Polina A. Volkova,Maria O. Ivanova,Ivan A. Dadykin,Nikita P. Tikhomirov,Maxim Y. Grigoryan,Yurii O. Kopylov-Guskov,Alexander A. Bobrov 국립중앙과학관 2020 Journal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity Vol.13 No.4

Flora of the southern Kuril continental islands is extremely diverse due to the complex history of geologyand climate, fluctuating connections with other territories in the past, and the habitat diversity of thearchipelago. It is likely well-investigated due to the long history of botanical studies, andfloristicfindingsare expected only in taxonomically difficult plant groups. To test this assumption, we carried out a specialinvestigation of the aquatic vascular plants on the Lesser Kuril Ridge (isl. Shikotan, Polonskogo, Yurii,Tanfilieva, Zelyonyi) and isl. Kunashir. In line with our expectations, we revealed nine taxa that havenever been reported for the whole Kuril archipelago (including six new for Sakhalinfloristic province ofRussia:Potamogeton manchuriensis,P.sparganiifolius, P.variifolius, P.vepsicus, Sagittaria aginashi,Sparganium subglobosum); all of them are aquatic ones. We found 24 species that are new for the LesserKuril Ridge or the whole Southern Kurils from which only about a half were aquatic. Unexpectedly, wefound 53 mainly terrestrial species that are new for the Little Kurils (the Lesser Kuril Ridge withexception of isl. Shikotan), and substantially supplementedfloristic lists of each island.

        김정규(Kim Jung-Kyu),양승민(Yang Seung-Min) 한국체육과학회 2009 한국체육과학회지 Vol.18 No.4

This study carried out aquatic-exercise program for 8 weeks targeting 15 elderly women who were diagnosed degenerative arthritis, and analyzed muscular activities and pain variables before and after exercise. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. As for variables in muscular activities, the muscular activities were indicated to be more after exercise than before exercise by section in all the muscles of the right Rectus Femoris Muscle, the right Vastus Lateralis Muscle, the left Rectus Femoris Muscle, and the left Vastus Lateralis Muscle. A little difference was shown only statistically. The statistically significant difference was shown(p<.001) in right-foot support time(150%), left-foot swing phase(170%) for the right Vastus Lateralis Muscle, and in right-foot swing phase(175%) for the left Vastus Lateralis Muscle. The statistically significant difference was shown(p<.01) in right-foot support time(150%), right-foot swing phase(201%), and left-foot support time(140%) for the right Rectus Femoris Muscle, in right-foot swing phase(192%) and left-foot support time(144%) for the right Vastus Lateralis Muscle, in right-foot swing phase(137%) and left-foot support time(145%) for the left Rectus Femoris Muscle, and in left-foot support time(135%) and left-foot swing phase(175%) for the left Vastus Lateralis Muscle. The statistically significant difference was shown(p<.05) in left-foot swing phase(168%) for the right Rectus Femoris Muscle, in right-foot support time(219%) and left-foot swing phase(209%) for the left Rectus Femoris Muscle, and in right-foot support time(153%) for the left Vastus Lateralis Muscle. 2. As for the variables in pain, the pain reduced more after exercise(2.93±1.94) than before exercise(5.07±2.12). The statistically significant difference was shown(p<.001). The following conclusion was obtained by synthesizing the above results. The execution of aquatic exercise in the degenerative knee osteoarthritis patients was indicated to be much conducive not only to reduction in pain, but also to enhancement in muscular strength. The degenerative knee osteoarthritis patients can be said to be effective to take aquatic exercise given the exercise of enhancing muscular strength.

New record of three aquatic species of Enchytraeidae (Annelida: Clitellata) from Korea

Lee, Jeounghee,Jung, Jongwoo The National Institute of Biological Resources 2016 Journal of species research Vol.5 No.3

Enchytraeidae is one of the largest groups in Clitellata. They are commonly found in soil and aquatic environments and play important roles in these ecosystems. It is not easy to study enchytraeid clitellates because of difficulty in distinguishing morphologies between closely related species. In Korea, 29 species have been reported in this family. Of these, 27 species are terrestrial and only two species are aquatic. Here, we report three aquatic enchytraeid species new to Korea: Fridericia glandifera Friend, 1913, Henlea montana Rota, 1994 and Marionina brendae Bretscher, 1899.
