Vol.20 No.3

A concept of multi-layered database is proposed for the integrated operation of bridge information in this study. The multi-layered database is a logically integrated database composed of standardized information layers. The standardized information layers represent the data sets that can be unified, and they are defined by standardized information models. Classification system of bridge component was used as a basis of the multi-layered database, and code system based on the classification system was employed as a key integrator to manipulate the distributed data located on the different information layers. In addition, data level indicating priorities of information layers was defined to support strategic planning of the multi-layered database construction. As a proof of concept, a prototype of multi-layered database for object-oriented 3-D shape information and structural calculation document was built. Data consistency check of the semantically same data in the two different information layer was demonstrated, It is expected that the proposed concept can assure the integrity and consistency of information in the bridge information management.

Vol.41 No.4

To figure out an appropriate pressure level for a body warming base layer, human responses were observed when the pattern reduction of base layers varied. Under the condition of $2^{\circ}C$, 60% RH, 0.1m/s, ten male subjects participated in the experiment with four sizes of experimental vests where heating pads were attached. The subjective evaluations of the heating vests with different sizes were reported using 7 or 9 point scales. We simultaneously observed chest, abdomen and scapula skin temperatures and microclimate humidity. It was found that the tight pattern as in the case of A or B provided a warmer subjective sensation and skin temperature than C or D; however, there were no differences in skin temperature at the chest. Eventually, the chest temperature decreased after about 30 mins of heating; however, temperature of abdomen increased and indicated that heating with two commercial pads used was inadequate for whole body warming. The pressure sensation of 'tight' was improved after warming the abdomen in a cold environment. Overall, the gaps beyond the original circumference of the abdomen, as in C or D, were not desirable for the local heating of abdomen under the conditions of this experiment where walking was included in the protocol. The experiment garment B with nude waist circumference was the best, and D with the largest ease, was the worst for a comfortable warming vest.

Vol.23 No.1

The golf is gradually popularized as an exercise that could be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age, sex, and build, and the golf wear market is continuously growing in the annual average for 10% or more. Thus, this study targeted middle-aged men in their 40s-50s, showing the most active demand for golf. Also, out of people with golf experience for ten years or more, this study selected five people falling under the error range of standard figure in 40s-50s. After selecting a person who was the closest to the standard figure out of those five subjects, this study conducted 3D scanning with a type of STD and five types of golf swing motions, and then calculated changes in body surface for each motion through the process of flattening. This study suggested the final base layer pattern by comparing the brainwave analysis on the second experimental wear and four types of comparison wears after modifying/complementing the pattern through the evaluation of motion suitability for the first experimental wear and four types of comparison wears. As the selection of those five subjects was based on the standard figure in accordance with the 7th Human Body Size Survey Report by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, it would be needed to be careful to apply it to every figure. If the follow-up researches multilaterally analyze the figures in 40s-50s, the methods to design the base layer pattern for each figure could be suggested.

Vol.73 No.3

Recently, with the increasing population of people riding bicycles, threre has been a paradigm shift in cycling culture, leading amateur riders to aspire to achieve professional-level skills and performance. This shift has also resulted in a growing demand for specialized cycling wear. This study investigated the current status of cycling wear brands and analyzed the pattern design and materials of three selected base layer products that provide essential features for moisture management and temperature regulation in cycling wear. The research included a survey of 17 international brands and 5 domestic brands and revealed that all brands emphasized the essential functions of moisture absorption and quick drying, with a slightly loose neckline being the most commonly used. Additionally, each brand featured a unique sizing system, which we felt could lead to consumer confusion when making purchase decisions. Through a comparative analysis of patterns from the three brands, Brand A offered the largest size range and patterns tailored to the body profiles of European countries. Their turtleneck design provided excellent insulation, and the use of mesh fabric in the underarm area effectively enhanced enhanced sweat evaporation. Brand B featured intricate pattern designs and, despite having the smallest size range, utilized flexible materials and darts on the shoulders, waist, and sleeves, making it the most suitable pattern for maintaining a streamlined riding posture. Brand C employed windproof fabric throughout the chest panel and, although lacking in intricate patterns, incorporated various other functional elements such as mesh panels, fleece lining, and perforations in different pattern pieces to maximize efficiency. The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for the development of domestic cycling products.

Vol.23 No.2

This paper is an introduction to the project that constructs an electronic cultural map of the Silk Road with the support of the Korea Research Foundation(KRF). This research project aims at extracting the cultural elements of the Silk Road and Data Basing them into digital materials and creating electronic maps based on them. By introducing a historical geography approach by using information system as map interface, it is going to prepare basic data to explore new possibilities of studying Silk Road culture. This is an introduction to the recent issue of fusion methodology, which aims at reaffirming UNESCO's efforts to promote inter-cultural interaction and his dialogue through the theme of Silk Road Culture. In order to develop academic research in Central Asia, this project is planning to secure basic data by introducing new digital anthropological methodologies. This was designed to provide various visual effects of maps made from dots and lines through the establishment of XML(eXtensible Markup Language) DB, HGL(Historical Geographic Layers Set) DB, and Map Space DB of text material, as well as various visual effects such as art, music languages, religions etc. Through this process, we want to provide integrated information that will not only provide visual information, but also provide historical and cultural information on a single map. By building various databases with this purpose, the academic community wanted to provide accurate and systematic information necessary for Silk Road research, and opened the door to its potential for expanded development. Based on an attempt to build a database through the implementation of the methodology presented in this study, we would like to give that meaning to the extent that we have shown the potential for a new convergence of research in this field in the future.
