      • An Efficient Spatial Data Index Based On Gossip for Overlay Networks

        Zhiqiang Zou,Yue Wang,Kai Cao,Shu Shen,Bin Zhang 한국산학기술학회 2013 SmartCR Vol.3 No.3

In large and highly dynamic distributed environments, the retrieval of spatial data entails some challenges such as network topology, indexing efficiency, and mapping methods for multidimensional spatial data. Conventional methods may not allow for the complex retrieval of multidimensional spatial data in an efficient manner. This paper proposes an overlay network for indexing spatial data based on gossip. The proposed network, referred to as the 2D-Ring, has a ring-like topology with a spatial data index. First, the paper introduces a protocol for constructing an overlay network for indexing spatial data and then presents a method for mapping the data onto the 2D-Ring by using a distributed quadtree and control points. The results of a comprehensive experiment for an evaluation of the performance of the 2D-Ring with respect to various features indicate that the 2D-Ring converges logarithmically to network size, has desirable small-world properties, and is robust across dynamic scenarios. The proposed solution can be applied not only to overlay networks but also to other types of networks requiring the sharing of distributed data sets.

      • Thickness-dependent reversible hydrogenation of graphene layers.

        Luo, Zhiqiang,Yu, Ting,Kim, Ki-Jeong,Ni, Zhenhua,You, Yumeng,Lim, Sanhua,Shen, Zexiang,Wang, Shanzhong,Lin, Jianyi American Chemical Society 2009 ACS NANO Vol.3 No.7

<P>In this work, graphene layers on SiO(2)/Si substrate have been chemically decorated by radio frequency hydrogen plasma. Hydrogen coverage investigation by Raman spectroscopy and micro-X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterization demonstrates that the hydrogenation of single layer graphene on SiO(2)/Si substrate is much less feasible than that of bilayer and multilayer graphene. Both the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation process of the graphene layers are controlled by the corresponding energy barriers, which show significant dependence on the number of layers. The extent of decorated carbon atoms in graphene layers can be manipulated reversibly up to the saturation coverage, which facilitates engineering of chemically decorated graphene with various functional groups via plasma techniques.</P>

Self-Adaptive Power Flow Optimization Method for Multi-Terminal SNOP Considering the Difference of Risk of Node Voltage beyond Limit

        Yiming Xu,Zhiqiang Wang,Zheng Fang,Sichao Xun,Guirong Hu,Yusheng Shen,Hongyi Xiao,Dongning Wu 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.5

Soft Normally Open Point (SNOP) is a power electronic device used widely in power distribution network. It can solve many problems by adjusting reactive power compensation and active power transmission. The uncertainty and fluctuation of distributed generation (DG) may cause many problems to the distribution network. In order to balance the safety and economy in power flow optimization better, a self-adaptive power flow optimization method for active distribution network with multi-terminal SNOP considering difference of the risk of node voltage beyond limit is put forward. It takes both weighted voltage deviation and the network loss into objective function to construct the optimal operation model and mainly has two improvements: one is considering initial voltage deviation and real-time penetration of the DG to establish the self-adaptive weight model of the sum of voltage deviation in the objective function; the other is putting forward the weighting strategy for node voltage deviation which decided by the electrical distance, DG position and correlation between source output and load. Then, taking three improved IEEE33 node feeders as an example to verify the validity of the strategy. The results validate that the self-adaptive strategy can reduce the loss and improve the regulation of voltage better and is useful in distribution network under different penetration

        Li Kexin,Shen Li,Zheng Pingping,Wang Yanjun,Wang Lijuan,Meng Xiaoli,Lv Yaogai,Xue Zhiqiang,Guo Xin,Zhang Anning,Pan Pan,Bi Chunli,Chen Yang,Feng Tianyu,Li Bo,Jin Lina,Yao Yan 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.1

Background: Increasing epidemic of ischemic stroke (IS) makes it urgent to understand the pathogenesis and regulatory mechanism, previous studies have described microRNAs (miRNAs) is part of the brain's response to ischemia. Objective: The aim of this study was to screen potential biomarkers for the prediction and novel treatment of IS. Methods: Differentially expressed miRNAs were screened from three newly diagnosed IS patients and three controls by RNA sequencing technology. Furthermore, target prediction databases were then used to analysis the target genes of different expressed miRNAs, and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway database were used to identify the functions and the main biochemical and signal pathways of differentially expressed target genes. Results: Our results revealed that 27 miRNAs were differentially expressed in IS, among which, hsa-miR-659-5p was the most highly increased and was first found to be associated with IS. In addition, KEGG pathway analyses showed that differentially expressed miRNAs were mainly significantly enriched in lysosome pathway, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction pathway, spliceosome pathway, base excision repair pathway. Conclusions: miRNAs were involved in IS pathogenesis, and hsa-miR-659-5p, hsa-miR-151a-3p and hsa-miR-29c-5p as the three highest |log2FoldChange| regulation in this study, which may be the biomarkers of IS and need further study.

A review of the immunomodulatory activities of polysaccharides isolated from Panax species

        Yeye Hu,Yang He,Zhiqiang Niu,Ting Shen,Ji Zhang,Xinfeng Wang,Weicheng Hu a,Jae Youl Cho 고려인삼학회 2022 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.46 No.1

Panax polysaccharides are biopolymers that are isolated and purified from the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits of Panax L. plants, which have attracted considerable attention because of their immunomodulatory activities. In this paper, the composition and structural characteristics of purified polysaccharides are reviewed. Moreover, the immunomodulatory activities of polysaccharides are described both in vivo and in vitro. In vitro, Panax polysaccharides exert immunomodulatory functions mainly by activating macrophages, dendritic cells, and the complement system. In vivo, Panax polysaccharides can increase the immune organ indices and stimulate lymphocytes. In addition, this paper also discusses the membrane receptors and various signalling pathways of immune cells. Panax polysaccharides have many beneficial therapeutic effects, including enhancing or activating the immune response, and may be helpful in treating cancer, sepsis, osteoporosis, and other conditions. Panax polysaccharides have the potential for use in the development of novel therapeutic agents or adjuvants with beneficial immunomodulatory properties.

Irradiation-Induced Hardening and Softening of CLAM Steel Under Fe Ion Irradiation

        Qingshan Li,Yinzhong Shen,Xi Huang,Zhiqiang Xu,Jun Zhu 대한금속·재료학회 2017 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.23 No.6

The irradiation-induced hardening and softening of CLAM steel irradiated with 3.5 MeV Fe13+ions at temperaturesof 300 °C and 550 °C were investigated by nanoindentation tests in combination with microstructures. Irradiation-induced hardening occurred in the steel irradiated at 300 °C to doses of 0.46 dpa, 0.94 dpa, and 2.79 dpa. The hardening occurred at 300 °C is mainly attributed to the formation of irradiation-produced dislocation loopsand a network of tangled dislocations in the irradiated steel samples. Significant hardening was found in the steelirradiated at 550 °C to 0.38 dpa. On the contrary, irradiation-induced softening occurred in the steel irradiated at550 °C to both 0.76 dpa and 2.75 dpa. Irradiation-produced dislocation loops are not dominant effect on the irradiationhardening of the steel samples irradiated at 550 °C. The hardening and softening of the irradiated steel wereexplained in terms of the irradiation-produced defects and recovery process occurred during the irradiation.

Improvement of the catalytic performance of immobilized penicillin acylase through assembly of macromolecular reagents in nanopore to create a crowding environment

        Cheng Zhou,Anming Wang,Zhiqiang Du,Shemin Zhu,Shubao Shen 한국화학공학회 2009 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.26 No.4

Macromolecular reagents were co-assembled with penicillin acylase (PA) and immobilized in mesocellular siliceous foams (MCFs) to resemble living cells. Types and concentrations of macromolecules were studied. The catalytic characteristic and stability of PA preparations were also investigated. PA assembled with dextran 10 k in MCFs showed maximum specific activity, 1.32-fold of that of the solely immobilized PA. The optimum pH of dextran and BSA derivatives shifted to neutrality, and the optimum temperature increased by 10 oC. Also, Km of BSA derivative of PA declined 56.7% compared to solely immobilized PA, while the Kcat/Km of PA assembled with BSA was enhanced to 147%. After incubation at 50℃ for 6 h, residual activity of PA assembled with BSA exhibited 53.0%. The ficoll derivative showed 82.8% of its initial activity at 4 oC after 8-week storage. The results indicated that macromolecular reagents assembled with PA in MCFs could dramatically improve the catalytic performance and stability of im- mobilized enzyme.

Blood lipids and all-cause mortality among old people: the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey 2008-2018

        Wang Rongxi,Yu Xiaoyue,Wang Zhiqiang,Liu Yujie,Chen Hui,Liu Shangbin,XU CHENG,Chen Yingjie,Xia Danni,Ge Xin,Chang Ruijie,Xu Gang,Xiang Mi,Wang Ying,Shen Tian,Hu Fan,Cai Yong 한국역학회 2022 Epidemiology and Health Vol.44 No.-

OBJECTIVES: Proper blood lipid levels are essential for survival in older adults, but inconsistent relationships have been reported between blood lipids and all-cause mortality in the elderly. METHODS: This retrospective longitudinal study analyzed data from 1,067 Chinese older adults enrolled in the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey collected in 2008 and followed up until death or December 31, 2018. The outcome was allcause mortality. Multivariate Cox regression analyses were used to estimate hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) with stratification by age (60-80, 80-100, or ≥ 100 years) for further analysis. The survival probability according to lipid profile quartiles was calculated using Kaplan-Meier curves and the log-rank test. RESULTS: The participants’ mean age was 84.84 years, and 57.0% were female. In total, 578 individuals died, and 277 were lost to follow-up. The mean total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels were higher among those who died than among those who survived. Participants in the second HDL-C quartile and the highest LDL-C and triglyceride (TG) quartiles had 28% higher, 23% lower, and 49% lower risks of all-cause mortality, respectively. After further adjustment, the associations remained except for HDL-C, and additional associations were observed between all-cause mortality and the third TC and LDL-C quartiles and the second TG quartile (HR, 1.44; 95% CI, 1.01 to 2.06; HR, 0.68; 95% CI, 0.49 to 0.94; HR, 0.79; 95% CI, 0.62 to 0.99, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: Older adults should maintain an LDL-C level of 1.91-2.47 mmol/L and a TG level of no less than 1.66 mmol/L.

The potential of Panax notoginseng against COVID-19 infection

        Yeye Hu,Ziliang He,Wei Zhang,Zhiqiang Niu,Yanting Wang,Ji Zhang,Ting Shen,Hong Cheng,Weicheng Hu 고려인삼학회 2023 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.47 No.5

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world and has presented the scientific community with unprecedentedchallenges. Infection is associated with overproduction of proinflammatory cytokines secondaryto hyperactivation of the innate immune response, inducing a cytokine storm and triggeringmultiorgan failure and significant morbidity/mortality. No specific treatment is yet available. For thousandsof years, Panax notoginseng has been used to treat various infectious diseases. Experimental evidenceof P. notoginseng utility in terms of alleviating the cytokine storm, especially the cascade, andimproving post-COVID-19 symptoms, suggests that P. notoginseng may serve as a valuable adjuncttreatment for COVID-19 infection.
